Washing on line OVER NIGHT

Coolmum30 · 10/06/2021 20:49

Is it just me that thinks it's absolutely vile to leave clean washing on the line over night? 🥺

Just bring it in!?

Omg every day an education....do they REALLY have "detachable willies "???? (I'm a bit scared to Google!)

BlackeyedSusan · 11/06/2021 15:33

further upthread a poster posted the proper name for spider willies, detachable or otherwise.

MorriseysGladioli · 11/06/2021 15:40

I bet they do have detachable ones.
They look the type.

OliviaWainright · 11/06/2021 16:05

My neighbour judges me for putting washing out during the day, so god knows what they must think of me when I leave washing out over night.

If I am sun bleaching school shirts they might be out for three days straight!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 11/06/2021 16:07

Too much spider information. I'm wearing my darked on too 😊

MorriseysGladioli · 11/06/2021 16:23

I've just put a line full out.
That'll be dry by tomorrow late morning.

MrsGulDukat · 11/06/2021 16:56

I've gotta take in my darked on clothes.

I shall report back once I'm home from work.

Watto1 · 11/06/2021 17:01

I’ve just brought in the load of washing that I pegged out last night. I think it survived! Dry as a bone with no obvious stench of bat wee and not a spider willy in sight.

FangsForTheMemory · 11/06/2021 17:02

I leave my washing out for a week at a time if I CBA to bring it in.

Does this mean I'm really an alien?

Annoymoususer · 11/06/2021 17:02

I think it's because of nighttime bugs like earwigs finding somewhere cosy and warm to settle into during the day, that's why they tell you to bring clothes in before it gets dark. Who wants to be bitten on the arse from a pair of jeans that's been left out all night and put on straight from line.

MrsGulDukat · 11/06/2021 17:06

That's why you give the clothes a good shaking and inspecting before you take em in the house.

MorriseysGladioli · 11/06/2021 17:14

I've been stung in the nether regions by an irate wasp who was in my rolled up tights.
My mum was in charge of washing, and she was a strictly "Washing out by 9am, then bought in and allowed to air for days before ironing and wearing" sort.
Certainly not a woman to leave her smalls out longer than necessary.

Nicolastuffedone · 11/06/2021 17:35

I always bring my washing in, I never leave it out overnight.

beepbeepbonk · 11/06/2021 18:32

Cause it’ll get damp and you’ll just look like a tramp to your neighbours.

You have neighbour's? That can view IN your garden... how trampy.

SadieCow · 11/06/2021 18:49

No thank you I manage to get mine out in the morning with three under three

@Nicolastuffedone

I always bring my washing in, I never leave it out overnight.
I always put mine out at night. Never leave it out in the day
DrJPuddleDuck · 11/06/2021 21:55

I sometimes hang mine out the night before and school mornings are hectic. What an odd thing to get worked up over though!

Miljea · 11/06/2021 21:58

Spot the newbies.

Nice to meet you.

TheKeatingFive · 11/06/2021 22:05

Some spiders have detachable willies so they can run away halfway through before the female eats them

Omg srsly?

Daphnise · 11/06/2021 22:15

I have seen this, and was told that the person doing it was mentally ill.

Later I did come to believe this, the washing out for days being just one factor.

MorriseysGladioli · 11/06/2021 22:21

Well, I hope there were other, more telling issues.

BettysGotMoxie · 11/06/2021 22:28

For various reasons I sometimes intentionally put washing out when I know it will get dark soon. It still gets dry 🤷‍♀️ Who is seriously considering things like spider willies and bat piss that isn’t concerned in the slightest about shield bugs and bird shit?

MrsGulDukat · 11/06/2021 22:58

Well, my clothes are gonna get double darked on.

I couldnt bother my arse actually go and get it in after work.

marble11 · 11/06/2021 23:30

I wouldn't do it. Who wants damp smelly washing. My neighbour who is a tramp does it.

MorriseysGladioli · 11/06/2021 23:35

The principle is the same, though, whatever time you hang it out.
You leave it there until it's dry.
That's the whole idea.
