Posting here for traffic...

Doesn't matter if you're already married, never getting married...I just need help and inspiration! I've listened to so much and can't find anything I like. I need to find some new stuff so I am crowdsourcing, hoping someone comes up with a gem.

What would you walk in and out of your ceremony to? (Civil, not church).

@SprayedWithDettol

Brilliant, I'll tell dp - not sure we'll bother with paperwork though

Badgerooney · 10/06/2021 13:21

We had the theme from the bbc adaptation of pride and prejudice (the Colin firth version)

Amrythings · 10/06/2021 13:33

We had the Hornpipe from Handel's Water Music to enter, Alice Coltrane's Turiya and Ramakrishna for signing the register and The Cinematic Orchestra To Build A Home for walking out.

Venue has since suggested the Coltrane one to other couples as it's so lovely but not overused!

Acidburn · 10/06/2021 13:35

I had "Greatest Day" by Take That

89redballoons · 10/06/2021 13:36

I walked in to This Must Be the Place by Talking Heads and we walked out to Got To Be Real by Cheryl Lynn. First dance was I wanna be your lover by Prince. Grin

Propercoppertop · 10/06/2021 13:41

In - Brown Haired Maiden, traditional Scottish folk tune
Out - Pachelbel Canon in D

riotlady · 10/06/2021 14:00

I’m getting married in a church with an organ so having the arrival of the Queen of Sheba but if I wasn’t I would choose the theme music from True Romance

TheGoogleMum · 10/06/2021 14:17

Some suggestions:
In -
Book of love - Peter Gabriel
kiss me - Ed sheeran
A thousand years - Christina perri
Out-
marry you - bruno Mars
Feeling good - muse (i know it's a cover but like their version)
I believe in a thing called love - the darkness

That's all I can think of right now... we definitely used one of these ourselves and some at other parts of the wedding...
The jurassic Park theme suggestion is a good one it's a great piece of music!

Waspsarearseholes · 10/06/2021 14:25

We walked out to Three Little Birds by Bob Marley.

NormanCornerstone · 10/06/2021 14:28

@22Giraffes

I'm worried now, getting married next week and the registry office didn't ask about/mention music so I just assumed it was a church thing. Am now worried that they will ask on the day!
You need to prepare a playlist your self. And get someone in charge of pressing play. No religious songs are allowed. Hope it goes well. I get married at the end of the month too Smile
SingingWaffleDoggy · 10/06/2021 15:52

Walked in to Canon in D, out to Brown Eyed Girl!

Londonmummy66 · 10/06/2021 16:07

Walked in to the Overture from Handel's Fireworks suite and out to Bach St Anne. A friend played Forlana and Fughetta from Finzi's 5 Bagatelles during the signing of the register,

22Giraffes · 10/06/2021 16:08

Thank you, seems like I really need to check and see what's going on! I do like the idea of Finally by Cece Peniston as we've been together nearly 18 years and are only getting round to it now!

SpikewasfitterthanAngel · 10/06/2021 16:09

I walked in to 'It feels like home' (gorgeous song from How to lose a guy in ten days) and walked out to 'Here comes the sun'.

Zitouna · 10/06/2021 16:25

I had a church wedding with organ and semi-pro choir, so came in to I Was Glad, and out to Widor’s toccata.

Had Whitacre’s ‘I thank you god for most this amazing day’ while signing the register which is just gorgeous. Then maximum hymns - Praise to the Lord, For The Beauty of the Earth, Lord of All Hopefulness, and Will Your Anchor Hold (a barnstormer).

Smiling thinking about it, several years on!

Holothane · 10/06/2021 16:30

I walked into Crown Imperial and walked out to Trumpet Voluntary. I’ve always loved that tune ever since Princess Diana’s wedding 40 years ago. This was my 2nd wedding and the best.

CornishGem1975 · 10/06/2021 16:48

Thanks all, really interesting hearing what others have chosen!

I know it should be personal but honestly, songs that are personal to us we both feel that we don't want to share with others.

I've listened to lots but some feel too cheesy, or overused and still can't decide whether to go with a song or classical music.

I will go through this properly later!

Walk in: How long will I love you
by Ellie Goulding.

Sign register: Stuck on you by Lionel Ritchie.

Walk out: The first, the last,my everything by Barry White.

poppycat10 · 10/06/2021 17:28

I walked in to Handel's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba as well. I can't remember any of the other pieces we had though, I'd need to check the programme.

Flumpaphone · 10/06/2021 17:49

Walked in to Rochester by Craig Armstrong

Signing the Register, Barber's Adagio for Strings (the original, we played the Tiesto version at the reception later Grin)

Out: I think it was the theme from Brideshead Revisited but I can't swear to it

PaulineScrambledPhones · 10/06/2021 17:59

We had Uncool by Courtney Love then Everlong by the Foo Fighters to walk in to.
Signing the register was Fun2’s arrangement of Canon in D and we walked out to Bring Me Sunshine by Morcambe and Wise!
