Sun out-dickhead neighbours out. What are your neighbours doing today to annoy you? (lighthearted

My neighbours do my head in year round as they are so bloody entitled in general but when the sun is out it's worse. Loud music, they can't talk, they shout to each other and when they have visitors it's even worse and that's before they get the outdoor fire going and force us indoors after quickly getting the washing in.
I have massive sensory issues with noise due to possible ASD (awaiting assessment) so I know IABU and need to find ways to manage. Unfortunately moving to an island isn't an option although I did eye up that advertisement for a caretaker of an unpopulated Scottish island with interest and wish I could live somewhere like that.
What are your neighbours up to today that's annoying you and how do you deal with it? Stereo wars? Hosepipes at dawn? Penguin bollards (CFs have been known to park on or across my drive and then make out it's me being unreasonable), playing the sweariest music you can find at full volume? I'm not actually going to do anything but humour me here.

@MootMoot

It's an Ibiza pool party next door to us.

Manky inflatable sex pond is out, and the fat gammon husband has brought his decks out onto the patio and is delighting us all with badly mixed shit club music from the late 90s. Plus flashing lights around his wannabe DJ set up.

Ha! This made me laugh out loud! I can just imagine it 🙈 Does he have a massive beer belly and wear speedos too?
flumposie · 31/05/2021 19:12

Adjoining neighbours are lovely, like to enjoy their gardens quietly as do I . Next door but one is rented by an absolutely selfish cow. She has pimped her car so that we are all woken by the sound of it at all times of the day. Then she likes to play shit 90s indie music ridiculously loud. I hate her with a passion.

RainbowBriteUk · 31/05/2021 19:12

@ineedaholidayandwine Mine too. They frequently do though. Bastards. They have work in the morning so i'm hoping they both go to fucking bed soon!

ineedaholidayandwine · 31/05/2021 19:15

@RainbowBriteUk this us going well, 2 posts too soon Grin
It's infuriating, they can see my laundry, just give me a heads up is all i ask.
Moving soon so fingers crossed the new place is better.

Unsure33 · 31/05/2021 19:28

We are very considerate quiet neighbours and if we have grandchildren round playing we always make sure they time it down if it gets too loud .

Can I ask what is the particular problem with hot tubs ? Is it the actual noise they make or just people getting drunk and talking loud while they use them ?

elfycat · 31/05/2021 19:49

I'm the neighbour for a couple of days. I have guests staying. The children have challenging backgrounds and behaviours and major learning issues.. There is tantrumming and screeching at times.

But it's before 8pm and they are going to bed. I'm not apologising for something that can't be helped. I have wine ready for the parents...

VaizyCrazyDaizy · 31/05/2021 19:52

Three lots of neighbours houses we have competing Karifuckingraoke!:(( screeching, pouring stinky petrol on all day bbqs - stink like old kippers as never cleaned and tonnes of smoke means shutting all our windows and doors! I turn up my radio and then get my mower out to join in with the noise around here! All HMO’s filled with arseholes who don’t give a shit about the neighbours.

ihavethehighground · 31/05/2021 19:53

One man who lives 4 door away. Terraced house gardens. Talks loudly to his toddler so we can all hear everything. Performance parenting to all the neighbours

MrsR87 · 31/05/2021 19:57

Yesterday, a few doors down was cutting/sanding wood with power tools/machines for 4.5 hours. It meant we missed both afternoon nap windows for our six month old and had a grizzly baby all evening. It was especially annoying as we’ve just started his new bedtime routine as we move him into his own room so I was especially annoyed that it was disrupted so soon.

Throngs like that don’t usually bother me…everyone has their garden done, builds a shed, mows the lawn etc. However, this particular person does it all the time, at least 3-4 times a week for hours and hours on end.

MrsR87 · 31/05/2021 19:58

Things not throngs 🤔

flippertygibbit · 31/05/2021 20:09

@chocolatesaltyballs22

Neighbour on right: playing with toddler in garden who can't seem to do anything without a constant 'aaaahhh aaaaaahhh aaaaaaaahhh aaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah' commentary

Neighbour opposite: teen-ager bouncing ball constantly

Neighbour on left: radio 2 on full blast with all the windows open, interspersed with occasional loud burps or yelled conversations with his partner. That's when he's not revving his ancient Porsche on the drive for 20 minutes before driving it round the block and then returning to rev it for a further 20 minutes before finally turning the fucking engine off.

I disagree with the burps - haven't heard them and that isn't normal for his. The yelled conversations - sorry, I've lost a lot of my hearing due to cancer. Rather radio 2 than your choice of entertainment tho.

If it makes you feel any better he annoys me with the cars too................

flippertygibbit · 31/05/2021 20:09

Retreats gracefully indoors, but very upset.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 31/05/2021 20:11

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, there needs to be a MN town filled only with considerate people who are kind, thoughtful, normal neighbours Grin

somewheresorted · 31/05/2021 20:13

I want to live there Avon!

Inclinedtochatter · 31/05/2021 20:17

We've had an afternoon of what I can only assume are Poland's greatest power ballads!

Vivana · 31/05/2021 20:18

Nothing I'm lucky as have great neighbours Smile

Frankola · 31/05/2021 20:19

Other than the poor posters who have people doing loud DIY and the poster who is putting up with her NDN "fat gammon" on his decks (best post ever!) I can't see what the real issue is for many people.

A lot of this sounds like the noises of daily life to me. Surely it all starts to calm down around now as well?

I do have sympathy for those living next to people will sex ponds when it gets later on. Nobody needs to hear the incessant droning of the hot tub at midnight and the couple in it get slowly more sozzled and louder Envy

queenofthenorthwest · 31/05/2021 20:20

I live on a council estate. Half bought half council.

Occasionally we get a loud party. It all goes quiet again after 11pm though.

It's usually just kid noises a bit of music. I can't get worked up about it. I can't afford to move to somewhere with no noise so it is what it is.

VinylCafe · 31/05/2021 20:20

Our old neighbours moved out last fall and I miss them dearly - they were so lovely and quiet. The new neighbour is friendly but loves his frequent late night bonfires with his mates. These guys get drunk and start doing stupid things like daring each other to put their arms/butts/legs into the fire. And the endless talking - do they ever shut up? I had to have a word with the neighbour about being careful around the fire and not having it so late at night (2:30 in the morning). He's a bit better now but I hope he doesn't burn anything down.

ThedaBara · 31/05/2021 20:26

Neighbour has gone away and their house alarm has gone off every single day. It wails on for about half hour then stops. Not next door but across garden, so don't have their number. Starting to wish they do get broken in to

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 31/05/2021 20:41

@flippertygibbit you've quoted and commented on my post but I genuinely don't understand what you're saying?

We have v. v. annoying performance parents next door to us but thankfully they've gone away for the week!
Lactarius · 31/05/2021 20:46

I'm lucky - haven't heard a peep out of my neighbours despite being in the garden all day. Took the opportunity to light the coke forge and hammer out a few pieces on the anvil whilst listening to my Spotify playlist on the speaker.
