Sun out-dickhead neighbours out. What are your neighbours doing today to annoy you? (lighthearted

My neighbours do my head in year round as they are so bloody entitled in general but when the sun is out it's worse. Loud music, they can't talk, they shout to each other and when they have visitors it's even worse and that's before they get the outdoor fire going and force us indoors after quickly getting the washing in.
I have massive sensory issues with noise due to possible ASD (awaiting assessment) so I know IABU and need to find ways to manage. Unfortunately moving to an island isn't an option although I did eye up that advertisement for a caretaker of an unpopulated Scottish island with interest and wish I could live somewhere like that.
What are your neighbours up to today that's annoying you and how do you deal with it? Stereo wars? Hosepipes at dawn? Penguin bollards (CFs have been known to park on or across my drive and then make out it's me being unreasonable), playing the sweariest music you can find at full volume? I'm not actually going to do anything but humour me here.

Mine have got very 3 noisy small children
I don't mind all that much really as we've all been there and there are worse sounds in the world but these lot really are very noisy
They have been playing out since pre 9am this morning screaming at the top of their voices. Occasionally this is punctuated by their mother screaming back at them to shut up which does not seem very effective
Right now one of them is caterwauling some awful Frozen song very out of tune
I don't think it would be acceptable to throw something at her but I am slightly tempted.

gamerchick · 31/05/2021 15:16

Mine are quiet but every year without fail she starts collaring me about the front garden. It's a shared space and I gave it to her to use as she wanted for her grandkids on the proviso that it wasn't my responsibility. So she'll use it as she wants and I don't go near it, but expects me to maintain it during summer months still. Then will try and get me to do her jungle of a back because she can't manage it.

I have to stealth like ninja just to avoid her.

feellikeanalien · 31/05/2021 15:17

Nothing. We live in a small village in the middle of beautiful countryside.

The only reason you can tell it's bank holiday is that there is more traffic going past than usual.

Neighbour on one side is deaf as a post and never goes into his garden.
He actually asked if his TV was annoying us as he has it up really loud. Can't actually hear it at all.

Neighbours on the other side are always away and are really lovely anyway.

After reading about all of the neighbours from hell I think we are very lucky!

foofootheclown · 31/05/2021 15:19

My immediate neighbours are lovely, no problems.

Saturday house backing onto neighbours on next street had their usual visitors including a woman with the loudest voice I've ever heard that can be heard all over the estate. Gets very drunk and keeps shouting 'Gary... I can't find my shoe'

Sunday night someone on the estate decides it's a really nice idea to have a big bonfire. At 5pm. When people are still out sunbathing and enjoying the garden.

This morning it sounded like a race track as guy round the corner who rides motorbikes has loads of mates over.

God only knows what laters delights will be.

MrsMaizel · 31/05/2021 15:19

The fucking hot tub with the smell and the noise of the hot tub and them screaming at each other because they can't hear each other because of the noise of the fucking hot tub 😂and fucking dogs . Vistir's dogs attacking their dogs and the women all screaming .

newnortherner111 · 31/05/2021 15:20

My neighbours have no hearing. Other than the odd cough no issue at all.

Lucky me by the sounds of it.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 31/05/2021 15:21

Neighbour on the other side is a nasty bullying arsehole. He has a horrible temper and seems to spend every day shouting and swearing at his wife, child or anyone else who crosses him.

Yesterday they had a blazing row for at least 30mins over whose lawn mowing method was correct. It was quite embarrassing to have to listen to it whilst just trying to have a quiet G&T in the sun on my patio.

He is also constantly renovating his house and he especially likes to start up hammering on the shared wall about 9pm at night.

On balance give me the shouty kids any day

CharlotteRose90 · 31/05/2021 15:23

My neighbours have friends round and today they are talking loudly and lettting there kids scream and splash noisily in the padding pool. All normal things but today it’s getting on my nerves as I’d love to sit in my garden without hearing them scream their going to shoot and knife each other. That to me isn’t a normal game at the age of 10

pointythings · 31/05/2021 15:23

Neighbours on left are lovely. Neighbours on right play relentless crappy pop music really loudly all day long as soon as the sun comes out, and the man's only method of communicating with his kids is to yell. Just glad they're all back to work tomorrow while I have annual leave for the rest of the week.

FreekStar · 31/05/2021 15:23

Mine are sitting in deckchairs on the pavement, the front and back doors are wide open and the kids are running in the front door, out the back door and round the the side in a big circle screaming!

rwalker · 31/05/2021 15:25

Next door is all block paved and there 2 have ride alongs that they rumble along on for HOURS. So loud difficult to have conversation.

On top of this one of them screams and shrieks (no issues) endless encouraged by them and dad joining in with ROOOOOAR !!!.
on top of that child got a twaty name that they shout constantly .

Lachimolala · 31/05/2021 15:25

Mine aren’t particularly loud but they are hideously entitled, they’re allowed to sit out and have barbecues, game nights and the incessant bouncing of the trampoline etc. But no one else is, no one else is allowed to make a whisper of noise. I once overheard them complaining that I was sweeping the patio which interrupted their quite loud zoom games night. Absolutely bonkers Hmm

AnotherOne4 · 31/05/2021 15:27

One side has a trampoline (which is fine) but all I hear are the squeaks of the springs everytime they bloody jump.

Across the other side are drug users, so all I smell is drugs Sad Get's so bad sometimes you can't even have the windows open.

thistimelastweek · 31/05/2021 15:27

Bastards have only gone and invited us for drinks.

Really hope they don't fling in some delicious home-cooked nibbles.

Pebbledashery · 31/05/2021 15:29

@MootMoot

It's an Ibiza pool party next door to us.

Manky inflatable sex pond is out, and the fat gammon husband has brought his decks out onto the patio and is delighting us all with badly mixed shit club music from the late 90s. Plus flashing lights around his wannabe DJ set up.

Fat gammon husband 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lolly49 · 31/05/2021 15:30

Couple of kids playing in the garden at the back very low level of noise.
My pond pump and that’s it it’s bliss.

NatWestPigFamily · 31/05/2021 15:30

Our neighbours don’t really talk to us unless making comments about our garden not looking like it did when the previous owners had it. We are tidying the garden today and they keep watching us over the low fence but ignoring us. Can’t wait to get a new higher fence put in.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 31/05/2021 15:31

I also know far more than I'd like to about neighbour with the shouty kids' sex life

As far as I can tell she has a rocky relationship with her ex who comes over to take the kids every other w/e. There will often be some bust up between them including the memorable occasion when he threw her car keys into the locked tennis court over the road. Full points for creative arseholery

When ex has the kids that will be party weekend with various people over, loud music and drinking till late plus sometimes noisy sex. Occasional police involvement.

I think I am getting too old and curmudgeonly for terraced house living and should pack up and move to the countryside

cupsofcoffee · 31/05/2021 15:32

Nothing at all. We live in terraced housing but everyone is generally very considerate.

Catswithflamingos · 31/05/2021 15:35

They put their washing out on bank holiday Monday...and ask that we don’t BBQ when the washing is out.

It’s bank holiday Monday.

itsgettingwierd · 31/05/2021 15:36

Hate to say it - but nothing!

One set don't even open their park on doors when the suns out let alone go outside and the other one is elderly and so sits out later in the day when I'm usually taking ds swimming.

If they ever venture out they are perfectly nice.

Set behind me are a young couple who are usually working, a family with young children who are currently in paddling pool but reasonably volumed and the other set out the back rarely ever seem to even live there!

Makes a change from the set out the back who lived there before the young couple who screamed her kids name every 10 seconds from dawn until dusk all day everyday regardless of summer or not.

She never even said anything - just constantly screamed the kids name. And I'm sure she was drug dealing by the comings and going's after dark too.

So I have every empathy for those with noisy neighbours but my current ones are probably quieter than average - and ds and I are too so it suits us!

Wildweather · 31/05/2021 15:36

Our joy this weekend is that neighbour to the right is isolating right now as she has Covid - problem is she's isolating in her garden and coughing endlessly whilst talking on the phone to her son telling him how ill she feels.

Great 👍

Zoorhik · 31/05/2021 15:37

@Nyfluff

Mine were annoying the f*ck outta me yesterday, today has just started up with the unpredictable and unrelenting bouncing of the balls. I have ASD and sensory issues with noise and smells and so I fully sympathise with how annoying neighbours can be. I'm just praying that the dog barking doesn't start soon as i'm working and it drives me absolutely ragey as I can't concentrate with the constant howling and barking.

I never used to be bothered about kids playing out but this bang bang bang bang bang of the balls is awful. I also can't stand things on my head/ears and even if I could earphones don't reduce the sound enough. I leave a fan on right beside me to try to take the edge off but it would take a hairdryer to drown that sound out.

Same here. I have severe sensory issues. We live on a large close where all of the neighbours are quiet and respectful. Apart from one family who let their 3 kids outside unsupervised. The youngest is 4 oldest 8. They fight, throw stones and sit in the road. It is so dangerous because they have no road sense and there have been several near misses with cars. I’m suspect that if anyone was selling on our road, it would lower the value.
Loubiemoo · 31/05/2021 15:37

Playing Coldplay loudly.

BigPyjamas · 31/05/2021 15:37

Our neighbour was out in his tractor earlier, inconsiderate cheeky farmer Wink

Other neighbour have put some plants for sale to raise money for the church and someone, an hour ago, beeped their horn once.

It's all pretty idyllic around her
