Sun out-dickhead neighbours out. What are your neighbours doing today to annoy you? (lighthearted

My neighbours do my head in year round as they are so bloody entitled in general but when the sun is out it's worse. Loud music, they can't talk, they shout to each other and when they have visitors it's even worse and that's before they get the outdoor fire going and force us indoors after quickly getting the washing in.
I have massive sensory issues with noise due to possible ASD (awaiting assessment) so I know IABU and need to find ways to manage. Unfortunately moving to an island isn't an option although I did eye up that advertisement for a caretaker of an unpopulated Scottish island with interest and wish I could live somewhere like that.
What are your neighbours up to today that's annoying you and how do you deal with it? Stereo wars? Hosepipes at dawn? Penguin bollards (CFs have been known to park on or across my drive and then make out it's me being unreasonable), playing the sweariest music you can find at full volume? I'm not actually going to do anything but humour me here.

@MizMoonshine

I live in a terraced house. I have neighbours both sides and back. They play music, have kids and spend time in their gardens... They even make eye contact and conversation. Did a neighbour ram a stick up all of your collective arses?
Exactly this Grin

My NDN's are early 60's. This weekend they have alternated between spraying any wood with stinking Cuprinol and 'having a rest and a cuppa' to Celine Dion.

Lottiebugz22 · 01/06/2021 18:40

Sat staring at us in the garden not speaking lol weirdo he is

Friendofdennis · 01/06/2021 18:40

Music on in garden. Shouting at each other. barbecue. Putting up a fence panel which has blocked out the sun in my garden.

Greenshed · 01/06/2021 18:42

One of our neighbours decided this bank holiday Monday was the absolutely best time to jet wash their path with an industrial strength jet wash machine, with the associated industrial strength noise, just as people were venturing into their gardens to enjoy a drink in the first decent warm day in ages. I was willing it to break down, but in the end left them to it and went to a local garden centre for some lunch and a bit of garden shopping. They'd stopped on our return, so peace was resumed, but honestly, why choose bank holiday Monday?!!

Harls1969 · 01/06/2021 18:50

The other evening one child was hanging over our fence, staring into our conservatory whilst blowing a whistle at my cats! This morning one child was blowing the whistle constantly while another 'played' a harmonica (I say played, it was not harmonious at all) Angry

Bebethany · 01/06/2021 18:50

It’s awful it’s it, I and other neighbours (terrace houses) have to contend with Eastern European ‘gypsy’ music... and at the tops of their voices La la la la la hey!! BBQ’s at all hours of the night the works!

Because they had the time off work and decent enough weather to do it?
lauramaisyday · 01/06/2021 18:54

All of this plus smoking weed and throwing things in my garden 😓 can I get a desert island to please 🙏

hanka · 01/06/2021 18:55

Not NDN but someone diagonally opposite (I think?) - flying a drone all over us. Can they do that? Is it legal? I feel like shoving it a finger. Or maybe fetching a catapult.

pollymere · 01/06/2021 18:56

My lovely DH got a new chainsaw today. It sounds like a meat carving knife. He has been using it for about three hours and will definitely need to use it tomorrow as its not hugely effective. I am cringing with embarrassment as we have lovely neighbours whose teeth must be on edge with the constant intermittent noise. He does sound like he's cutting up corpses in the garden so my NDN who hates us anyway will probably call the police (she's previously got my husband arrested which was quickly sorted out but annoying).

cricketmum84 · 01/06/2021 19:00

They have a MAHOOSIVE wasps nest in their roof that they totally know about but refuse to do anything about.

I have a genuine and very real phobia of wasps so can't bear sitting out because they are right in my eyeline buzzing in and out in their droves!

Shell4429 · 01/06/2021 19:01

Neighbour annoyed me at 8am this morning when I couldn’t get into our residents car park because his ridiculously large work truck was parked right in front of the gates while he was loading it with his work gear (their back gate is there).

MotherOfAllZipFiles · 01/06/2021 19:01

If i could hire a hitman on my NDN, I most definitely would

Chickoletta · 01/06/2021 19:02

I am so sympathetic to you all as I have no tolerance of other people’s noise at all - it makes me so stressed out.We moved from a cul de sac to our own smallholding last year. We can’t see another house from here and certainly can’t hear anyone.

Moving in lockdown was incredibly stressful and we nearly lost the place several times over, but when I read threads like this I feel very lucky.

caspersmagicaljourney · 01/06/2021 19:04

@MootMoot

It's an Ibiza pool party next door to us.

Manky inflatable sex pond is out, and the fat gammon husband has brought his decks out onto the patio and is delighting us all with badly mixed shit club music from the late 90s. Plus flashing lights around his wannabe DJ set up.

OMG a horror story😱🥴. Made me laugh tho' 🤣
ThistleTits · 01/06/2021 19:06

A screaming banshee, with a hot tub and a DIY partner. Your children do not respond to you shouting at them, please find another way.

coachnhorses · 01/06/2021 19:09

A nearby house, can't see their garden so not entirely sure which one, a pack of screeching kids. All day. They sounded like they were at the Fairground. The kids are onna have a sore throat tomorrow

Its always the same during school holidays

Sorka · 01/06/2021 19:11

Ugh I thought the kids next door had finally gone in but they’ve obviously been fed so have recharged, back in the paddling pool fresh to resume screeching, screaming and shouting.

How people can be so unaware is beyond me.

RenoSusan · 01/06/2021 19:11

When my tipsy neighbor goes to the casino, her daughter turns the music up so loud that everything in my condo rattles. Goes on 3 or 4 hours.

Ljcoolgran · 01/06/2021 19:19

Live in a terrace of 6 houses. Fairly quiet area apart from usual kids playing, lawn mowers, occasional barbecues bit of DIY that type of thing no problems. However, NDbut1 yapping dogs!! Not only do the dogs yap but the owners shout at them to be quiet which makes them worse which makes the owners shout more!!!!

I absolutely can abide ANY noise at all, I am SO intolerant...yet this actually seems like something I could live with!
orangefoot · 01/06/2021 19:24

We can hear them but we can't see them anymore because they put up a six foot fence last year in protest at the windbreak I'd put along the fence so they weren't staring into our window all day long!

SchrodingersMother · 01/06/2021 19:26

Not dickhead, and it doesn't bother me, but there's a man about 5 houses down who sneezes so loudly! Every time he does it it makes the Guinea pigs scurry into their hides and the dog jumps up and starts growling.

From 5 houses away!!

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 01/06/2021 19:27

I moved into my new house in February, it's heaven on earth. All my neighbours are elderly and I don't hear a peep out of them ever.
My old house which was the house, garden and area of my dreams the neighbours literally drove me insane, I had a breakdown.
Next door single man screaming if I hoovered during the day and hammering on the wall at any normal noise whatsoever which isn't much because I live on my own.
Both gardens either side so wild and overgrown they pushed my new fence down.
6 flipping brats next door but one totally feral and screaming and screeching all day long until 10pm sometimes later.
The woman at the end totally obsessed with my ash tree and would shout OI YOU everytime I was out there and want me to cut it down RIGHT NOW.
Fucking bastards robbed me of my sanity and my beautiful dream home.
