Sun out-dickhead neighbours out. What are your neighbours doing today to annoy you? (lighthearted

My neighbours do my head in year round as they are so bloody entitled in general but when the sun is out it's worse. Loud music, they can't talk, they shout to each other and when they have visitors it's even worse and that's before they get the outdoor fire going and force us indoors after quickly getting the washing in.
I have massive sensory issues with noise due to possible ASD (awaiting assessment) so I know IABU and need to find ways to manage. Unfortunately moving to an island isn't an option although I did eye up that advertisement for a caretaker of an unpopulated Scottish island with interest and wish I could live somewhere like that.
What are your neighbours up to today that's annoying you and how do you deal with it? Stereo wars? Hosepipes at dawn? Penguin bollards (CFs have been known to park on or across my drive and then make out it's me being unreasonable), playing the sweariest music you can find at full volume? I'm not actually going to do anything but humour me here.

Taking a shortcut through my drive way is their most recent thing ... trying their best to get a reaction.

stinking my garden and house with weed and the other ones revving a motorbike hate it here

Sorka · 01/06/2021 17:55

The kids have been in the garden all day, screeching, screaming and shouting. They were out there when I went out to get a breath of fresh air before work. Then a paddling pool appeared which somehow, impossibly, increased the volume. There was a very brief respite at lunch so I went out for a bit then opened the doors so I could have fresh air. Just got comfy then the noise starts again and had to shut the door. They’re still out there now.

I have spent this beautiful day imprisoned while working from home with all the doors and windows shut without even being able to let in a breeze to break the stuffiness, wearing headphones to block them out and still they’re so loud they’re disturbing me.

The rest of the road is silent. It’s just them making noise. It’s so incredibly rude.

Still, on the bright side, at least I’m not being subjected to the drum kit in the garden today.

BBQ's Angry

Everyone has their windows and or patio doors open and you want to spark up a barbie with half a gallon of lighter fuel. Just FO.

I don't own one and never will. My house came with a kitchen.

I thought my neighbour had a kitchen but I must be wrong as every time the sun even peaks out from behind a cloud it's out with fuel and briquettes.

FreddieMercurysCat · 01/06/2021 17:57

Mostly? Nothing. Our NDNs? Breathing.

Mepop · 01/06/2021 17:57

My neighbours have barbecues every evening when it is not raining from May until September. Weekends they might do it for lunch too. The smoke drives me crazy as our gardens are only 3m by 10m. They tend to start early so I need to get my washing in by 4 or it’s stinks of smoke because they do not use proper bbq fuel they burn chopped wood.

This ^^ My pet hate is the smell of burnt fat and smoke because they cannot be bothered to get the damn thing glowing before putting their job lot of burgers and sausages on it.

My noisy neighbours and now strutting around topless (they are guys). It’s gonna be a long summer...

Mummabear89 · 01/06/2021 18:00

We are super lucky as we live in the end terrace of 5 houses and our next door neighbours are absolutely lovely. They always buy our DS an easter egg for Easter and a little gift at Christmas. When we first moved in they offered to help with the gardening and even lent us a saw so we could do some mending. We just had our second DS in January and I bumped into the wife a few weeks ago who said that I'd snuck a baby in (had a home birth so I thought that they already knew) later that day they popped over with some babygros for him. The neighbours on the other side of the road though are a completely different story and I won't go into detail but we stear well clear of all 5 of those houses

IdreamofPilates · 01/06/2021 18:02

Everything that has been mentioned here. The noisy little 'f'kers and their parents make my life a complete misery. Latest instalment of one of those godawful trampoline things with the net protection is doing my head in. The kids scream at a gazillion decibels for hours about anything. They bang on the windows to be let in and the parents ignore them!!! They are, as someone has put on this thread, definitely 'entitled' and it goes on day in, day out, all through the spring/summer. I pray for the winter quite honestly. There is not enough Pilates/Yoga/San Miguel to get me through the rest of the summer.

Small mews with 3 house renovations so triple drilling 😱😫🙏

Beverley71 · 01/06/2021 18:11

Putting glass in their landfill bin at 7am every morning

SisterBeaverhausen · 01/06/2021 18:11

Letting their kids bang on metal drums from 10am to 3pm today.

The kids then began shouting the c word at each other.

The Mum then screamed about some dickheads on Facebook for a while before then having a loud conversation about how much she hates her daughters new boyfriend.

We plan on moving next year because this was a good day.

MondeoFan · 01/06/2021 18:13

Small chihuahua literally barking all day. And I mean all day. It's so annoying. Rap music or drum and bass playing for 4 or 5 hours. Mum hollering at the kids over the music.
They have a bbq most days and it always smells delicious. Not like a regular bbq smell just really really nice.

NinaMimi · 01/06/2021 18:13

I’m in a flat and neighbours are mostly fine apart from when they slam windows. It makes the floor vibrate. I don’t know why they can’t just not slam things. It can’t be good for their windows.

Hertsgirl10 · 01/06/2021 18:17

Love these threads .. give me the beat ideas on what to do to piss my neighbours after all of their shit the last few years.!

Hot tub is definitely top of this list, did not realise how much people hated them 😂

SchrodingersImmigrant · 01/06/2021 18:19

That should be the regular bbq smell😂 not firelighters

Bertiebiscuit · 01/06/2021 18:20

Noisy garden equipment - mowers strimmers and leaf blowers on Sunday mornings - one loon hoovers her plastic grass - screaming children in paddling pools loud reggae stinky bbqs and dope smoking - a pox on every single one of the morons

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 01/06/2021 18:21

I had the horror of seeing a large trampoline turn up at next door's yesterday. And guess what, yup it's on our side of their garden :(

Harleyband · 01/06/2021 18:22

Normally nothing. Our houses all have large gardens so any noise is distant and muted. But in about a month the teens next door will start to set off fireworks after dark (absolutely illegal here) and I will lie awake worrying that they will land on our roof while still active (they've come close a few times). I've tried talking to them. No luck. Don't want to call police because police here are not nice.

Wavey123 · 01/06/2021 18:23

Anyone else scanning through seeing if they feature?

AvonCallingBarksdale · 01/06/2021 18:24

This is in equal measure depressing and comforting - why are there so many inconsiderate arses around Sad

SchrodingersImmigrant · 01/06/2021 18:25

@pam290358

For the second day running my neighbours have had a very large paddling pool out and have invited their next door neighbours kids to a pool party. I like kids and love the sound of children’s laughter but for two solid days we’ve had screeching and squealing, shouts of Daddy, Daddy Daddy, and various screaming and crying because of rough play. Totally fucked off with it now and on the point of complaining.
There was once a child for solid 20min going in the most annoying voice: "Mum. Mum. Mum. Mum" I was this close 🤏 to shout "fgs you made it you talk to it". They were like 6 houses away! "Mum. Mum. Mum" The best contraception 😂
Anjo2011 · 01/06/2021 18:25

I knew I’d pay for my quiet day yesterday. Next door had an extension built last year weeks of drilling and builders singing loudly. Now they are having a new bathroom. No singing but lots of drilling and hammering. Next door are away so it’s still quiet there. New people moved in a far doors round on Saturday. They have two young children, I already know the kids names as the dad is constantly shouting at them, I’m not sure why, as they just seem to be playing like kids do. All part and parcel of living nearby others but it would be nice if it were quiet !

spiderlight · 01/06/2021 18:29

Ours had terrible music on all afternoon but it wasn't horrifically loud. I miss our previous neighbour, who was a lovely quiet little old lady who only ever made a noise when Wales scored a try.
