I’m perhaps not articulating myself well but the main point I’m saying is that not all women who work in the sex industry are vulnerable and let’s face it, the media etc only reports sex workers that are vulnerable, ie addicted to drugs, victims of abuse etc etc, the media isn’t going to paint a nice picture of workers within the sex industry are they, that won’t do at all.
I'd say being vulnerable is an entry level qualification.
Leaving school with little viable education makes you vulnerable.
Having no career ambition or direction in life makes you vulnerable.
Lacking in the sort of boundaries that allows you to do porn related work makes you vulnerable.
Lacking the usual "shame factors" - e.g. a family who cares about you - makes you vulnerable.
Having an addiction - to drugs, sex, money or whatever drives you - makes you vulnerable.
Having children to feed, other dependents, no partner to help you, and no way of being able to sustain a regular job makes you vulnerable.
Living in a world where social media addiction is rife, the overreach of lifestyle influencers on young women, and the desire for instant emulation and gratification, requiring instant large quantities money to achieve it, makes you vulnerable.
Earning lots of money from any job that depends on entry level vulnerability, whether that's one or all of the above, is not something to be proud of or to be encouraged by wider society.
