I HATE my wedding dress

I'm getting married next month, my dress has arrived and I hate it. I need to find a new one and fast. Please help?

I have toyed with the idea of non-white dresses, at this rate I'm open to anything. Ideally wanted a midi length pale dress that doesn't look like a bridesmaid dress (The one I have bought is blush and floaty and bridesmaidy). :( :(

Everyone that has worn a ghost dress - is it meant to be longer than just about touching the floor?

What kind of shoes/accessories did you pair it with?

It doesn't look to me as if the Claudia is being worn at the front in any of the pics!

These dresses on Amazon come from sellers in china are everyone I know who has bought one has been disappointed. Everything from simply looking nothing like the pictures, to being very poorly made or just bizarre sizing. Often based on much shorter average heights of people in the far east and quite different physique.

@xela21

Anyone have experience with Klarna (in particular, their pay in 30 days)?

How exactly do I do this - make an account, place an order - Ghost dresses should arrive tomorrow (eek!!) then return 1 or both if they don't fit without having to pay at all? Not really sure what Klarna gain from it if that is the case Confused

I've not used Klarna, but if you use pay in 3 from PayPal, it's exactly the same process as buying something where you pay the whole amount, all that's different is you tick "pay in 3" at checkout (if it's available) and then PayPal approves you to do this.

If you don't take the items back, then 2 more payments come out of your account, the following two months.

If you return the items, you do this in the normal way and you're refunded what you paid.

So, if you wanted to try on £600 worth of dresses, only £200 goes out of your account this month.

£200 up front, I mean.

Has anyone mentioned StillWhite? This is what's listed for £290 and under: www.stillwhite.com/shop?price=0-290&page=2

It's not fancy, but bloody tempting for the money!

I posted before but for accessories I think a nude strappy sandal with nude nails always looks right. And I do love those embellished headbands with an up do, they’re fun and kicky, with enough pizazz to signal you’re the bride iykwim

Ok, it's a bit over your budget but this is lovely? And they have it in your size? I don't think that looks bridesmaidy?

thenewduchessofhastings · 20/05/2021 17:19

@xela21

Lots of oxfams have bridal boutiques;there's not only 2nd hand dresses but new ones bridal shops have donated as they are making room for new lines.

Have a google to see if there's one near you

op I have a clingy satin ghost dress and I'm a short size 12 with a bit of a tum and its actually incredibly flattering; I'll try to find a pic of the style

Alexis43 · 20/05/2021 18:15

it's from a few years back but very like this one which appears to be available in John Lewis at the moment I think it's great.

Klarna make their money from merchants’ fees rather than interest.

So you pay as usual, and 30 days later you are billed. Or if you take the pay in 3 option you pay in 3 lots over 3 months.

I use it as it’s brilliant for exactly this situation.

Ninkanink · 20/05/2021 18:22

Just be aware that it’s verrry easy to start using it too much! I’m deleting my app this month after I’ve paid my last lot because I’m on a no-spend unless it’s actually necessary! But for a one-off, or if you are much more disciplined than me, it’s great.

Dizzybet74 · 20/05/2021 18:29

You could check out a local outlet village, or Oxfam have specific wedding dress shops but I don't think there are that many around the country.

SabaYem · 20/05/2021 18:30

Please check House of CB bridal collection. Elegant and not too pricey!

Taisoken · 20/05/2021 18:33

Sessun bridal has some beautiful options.
