Busybody neighbour asked me to move stuff off my drive as its in her line of sight

Silly cow. It's a kids bike, a carriage and a dog blanket. They were out as I was cleaning the boot of the car. IABU to tell her to feck off? We're in a cul de sac. She has nothing better to do than look out of her window. Clearly.

it completely depends on what you men by carriage?!?!

AlwaysLatte · 18/05/2021 11:41

Wasn't your DH's undercarriage was it??

AlwaysLatte · 18/05/2021 11:42

I'm guessing one of those trailers for a bike?

Notyetthere · 18/05/2021 11:42

I have one of these. She asked us to move our potted plants as they were in her line of sight to see further into the cul de sac. We thought she was being CF but moved them anyway. This was on the day we moved into our house. We would have moved them anyway as they would have blocked the way for the bike into the side of the house.

She is very old and dementia is taking hold so we do cut her some slack. She is lonely so is always at the window everyday waving to DD in the morning going to nursery.

We once reversed our car onto the drive and she was so thankful that she could now see further into the cul de sac.

Sparklfairy · 18/05/2021 11:42

'It's in my line of sight' 'oh how awful. Is there something wrong with your neck that you can't turn your head?'

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 18/05/2021 11:42

Line your wheelie bins along it for a laugh and see what she says then. I'd be playing a game of "how long till she spots x and complains" around your drive and front garden, if you have one.

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 18/05/2021 11:44

I hate people like this. Who do they think they are?Angry Don't let her get away with it op. Get out there and take as much shit from the house out with you. Bogie faced children, scraggy pet, stinking compost bin....whatever you have!

Mydogisagentleman · 18/05/2021 11:45

My NDN asked me not to let my dog into the garden because his wife doesn’t like the look of him.
She would need to be upstairs in order to see himself we have 7 feet walls.
AND he is bloody gorgeous

clpsmum · 18/05/2021 11:47

Tell her to piss off

LoisWilkersonslastnerve · 18/05/2021 11:47

Those old faded towels you haven't parted with....the fluff from the tumble dryer....broken lamps, we've all got one. Get it all out there.Grin

GabsAlot · 18/05/2021 11:48

So much cray cray in the world! Though I suppose, good on them, if they've nothing else to worry about, they must be living their best lives Grin
LivingDeadGirlUK · 18/05/2021 11:48

@lurker69

i think you should put more things out there for her to look at Grin
This, slowly make the display larger and more elaborate over the course of a day.
FlibbertyGiblets · 18/05/2021 11:49

Loving the pictures, liking your work here, peeps.

I think carriage in this instance is baby carriage - pram. (My Devon mate calls her pram the baby carriage)

Whammyyammy · 18/05/2021 11:49

YANBU, we live in a row of 8 cottages in a row on a narrow lane. There is a track round the back where people park their cars at the end of the garden's.
Our house is the only one where the front has been converted into a drive, been like it for 12 years.
Had a new neighbour move in 6 months ago, after about 2 weeks she knocked on our door and asked us to turn the drive back into a garden and park round the back so its uniform and no cars in view as she likes to sit in her front garden and view just greenery.... we declined.

Ostara212 · 18/05/2021 11:51

@Faranth

I think I'd create a 'scene' for her to enjoy. I'd use DCs largest teddies and whatever props I can find and create something completely over the top. Then wave at her Grin
Yes!

I have a crane in my line of sight, pardon me while I pop out and ask them to move it.

Bobbiebigbum · 18/05/2021 11:52

Here's a picture. You may have to zoom in. I've taken it from just in front of her house for scale. It's the small blue collapsible bike carriage you can hardly see Hmm

Like others, I would line up a bit more stuff after such a comment.

Put the wheelie bins there, make sure the car is also strategically positioned at that point too.

What's the betting that she was one of those curtain twitchers who just NEEDED to be able to see down the road during lockdown in order to count the comings and goings of the neighbours during lockdowns so that she could report their perceived transgressions to the police?

Throw an old sofa out too and sit out with a bag of cans and a stereo. At least if will give her something to actually look at. Crazy cow.

idontlikealdi · 18/05/2021 11:57

Oh I would so be adding to that, drag out a mattress or something!

jenthelibrarian · 18/05/2021 11:58

@Thelnebriati

what kind of carriage?
That is wonderful, my son and his fiancé have a young Bernese and I think she needs a carriage, is that yours? She could bring home the shopping, couldn't she Smile
Bobbiebigbum · 18/05/2021 11:58

Loving the carriage jokes! It's a bike carriage

Please, OP, I am begging. Set up a nativity scene in December and then leave it out "for convenience" all year round.

GreyStep · 18/05/2021 11:59

Just wow.
