That women shouldn’t be forced into silence over males competing in female sports

NEW Zealand has selected a 43 yr old transwoman to represent them in the Olympics in the women’s weightlifting competition. Female athletes feel they are being forced into silence on the issue. How did it come to this?

owlbethere

For people who feel silenced I hear about how everyone on mumsnet feels about trans women every 5 mins..

@DragonMuff

Tell you what @OwlBeThere, go on Twitter in your own name and speak out against this, see the reaction you get.

Mumsnet is anonymous which is why people can speak freely. Or look up the attempts to get Kelly Holmes dropped by her sponsors when she spoke out.

Your post is ridiculous and presumably goady as you cannot possibly think that being able to post your opinion on Mumsnet means that there isn’t a culture of silencing people on this issue.

This.

I can't even fathom what kind of person thinks this is OK, and it's even worse if that person is a woman!

As a previous poster said, the reason why many people in real life don't say much/anything, is because they get shut down by the ranty liberal left wokies.

And as a pp said, that is why the TORIES keep thrashing the arse off LABOUR. The wokies are shocked by this because all their wokie mates and their peeps on the twitter are all leftie liberals, and they can't fathom why the Tories keep winning.

It's because there are more people who are sick to death of Labour, and they don't speak out because the hate and vitriol from the shouty lefties who HATE anyone who doesn't share their ludicrous views.

Same here. People don't say anything in real life/on social media, about how sick to death they are of trans-women being favoured over women who are born female, because they get shot down in flames for DARING to have that view.

I mean FFS, just this past week, I heard someone on twitter say 'pregnant people!' Oh so you mean WOMEN?! Hmm

This is right up there with 'people who menstruate.' ONLY WOMEN MENSTRUATE FFS!

Like many others, I am sick of all this shit. Women's views and worries being cancelled and dismissed! Fuck right OFF! Angry

DrSbaitso · 08/05/2021 16:41

The killer is that everyone knows it's bullshit. Nobody actually thinks that a trans woman is an adult human of the egg producing reproductive class.

Fimofriend · 08/05/2021 16:42

@owlbethere

For people who feel silenced I hear about how everyone on mumsnet feels about trans women every 5 mins.

So now you are asking us to be silent about the matter, but people are not being silenced?

DrSbaitso · 08/05/2021 16:43

I hear about how everyone on mumsnet feels about trans women every 5 mins.

We don't want to be told to choke on a lady dick on Twitter.

Maireas · 08/05/2021 16:43

If you have been through a male puberty you should not be in direct competition with those who have not. Why is it always women that have to compromise and have their rights eroded?

NoNever · 08/05/2021 16:45

Entitled male uses enormous male body to take Olympic place from deserving female but anyone who says that’s not fair is an evil transphobe and must be silenced.

I wish I was shocked.

Oysterbabe · 08/05/2021 16:48

Have you seen the posts from Fallon Fox boasting about fracturing her opponent's skull? It's a matter of time before someone dies because of this shit.

Flaunch · 08/05/2021 16:50

I’d love the 3% who disagree to come and tell us their reasoning.

littlepattilou · 08/05/2021 16:50

@Oysterbabe Fucking hell, that's shocking! Shock

How and WHY is this allowed?

Political correctness???

Fuck that!

Thisnamewasnttaken123 · 08/05/2021 16:53

They need to boycott it.

Oysterbabe · 08/05/2021 16:54

I don't think she's too sad about it.

WOW. Sad
Hestyo · 08/05/2021 16:57

@DragonMuff

I agree totally.

It is just unarguable, and the knots people tie themselves into to justify it is just excruciating to watch - “oh but what about tall women” and other total bollocks.

Sarah Silverman was a good example of such bullshittery the other day when she said it was not a concern about women’s sport but transphobia Hmm

I just saw that Sarah Silverman thing, and it made me furious. "But what about tall girls?" "Why don't we categorise by weight and height?" Fucking idiot. I've known some really small and scrawny men and they were still a hell of a lot stronger than I am. Because they were men.

The point of sporting competitions is to find excellence within a certain category - e.g. female and male categories. The people who compete in these categories will work fucking hard as well as having natural skill. The point isn't to allow perfectly average men to win stuff...

I love how all these progressive voices are calling for women and girls to step aside for men and boys though. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

GrouchyKiwi · 08/05/2021 16:58

What about the woman who came 4th... she was blocked from a medal and a place on the podium by this cheat.

Absolutely AngeloMysterioso. So many women are missing out because of cheating men.

Aspiringmatriarch · 08/05/2021 17:05

Very wrong. The fact that this person would never have qualified for the men's weightlifting says it all. I think in a way it's a good thing this is happening though as the profile of the Olympics will mean it can no longer be ignored. I've always felt that unfortunately this is something that has to play out.

Twistiesandshout · 08/05/2021 17:07

How do we stop this?

AngeloMysterioso · 08/05/2021 17:09

Sadly, as much as this is getting a bit of attention now I’m not sure weightlifting is a popular enough sport for this to really matter to people. It’ll only be when a TW takes the gold in something like the 100m sprint, or wins Wimbledon, that people will really start to pay attention. And by then it will be too late.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/05/2021 17:09

"Why don't we categorise by weight and height?"

Sports in which weight is particularly important do categorise by weight, within each sex. Weightlifting does, doesn't it? Hubbard should compete within the correct male weight category.

randomchap · 08/05/2021 17:09

It's an absolute farce. Male bodied people should not be competing against female bodied people no matter what their gender identity.

Some things need to be separated by biological sex.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 08/05/2021 17:09

Just in case Sarah Silverman reads MN 😆

This is why “but tall women!!” and other such is just nonsense

That women shouldn’t be forced into silence over males competing in female sports
DrSbaitso · 08/05/2021 17:15

Why don't we categorise by weight and height?

Because when all else is equal, a man and woman of the same height and weight will still have different proportions of muscle and fat; more muscle on the man, more fat on the woman. And more male hormones in the man which contribute to speed and strength.

Do people really not know this? Do people really now think that literally the only difference between male and female bodies is dangly bits?

DrSbaitso · 08/05/2021 17:16

@Theeyeballsinthesky

Ha, and this too of course.
Aspiringmatriarch · 08/05/2021 17:16

I weigh more than my partner because I'm fat. He's still a lot stronger than me.

Stoptalkingtome · 08/05/2021 17:19

It's absolutely disgusting and completely unfair.

MNybvcx54 · 08/05/2021 17:21

Disappointed to hear that Sarah Silverman appears to lack critical thinking ability.
