Just interested how everyone spends their evenings after work, do you do hobbies, If so what!? With being in lockdown for so long it’s tricky getting back into a normal evening routine!?

DH and I tidy the sitting room and the kitchen, collapse on the sofa then read our phones or books. I took up cross stitch in lockdown 1 but haven’t done any for ages.

Finish work at 4pm especially great when working at home. Usually go to the gym/go for a walk, cook dinner, tidy up and watch MasterChef Australia.

We play a lot of board games too, we love ticket to ride. (No kids here).

I do online teaching some evenings between about 7-10pm. Other evenings I watch TV and knit or do admin for my business. My evenings only start at 7pm though as I've a toddler!

Usually knitting while listening to an audio book, with interruptions to buy browse patterns and yarn.

I sometimes just go to bed and sleep until morning!

I do a quick tidy around if it's needed.

I sit on the settee and watch YouTube vids.

I go to camera club (or attend the zoom meeting) 1x a week.

I edit photos or research new ideas.

I sit in the summerhouse if it's nice.

I go to my sisters' houses or they come here.

I go out with a camera buddy and take evening landscape shots.

I knit or sew.

I seem to be incapable of doing anything in the evenings, I feel like the day has ended so I’m just waiting around for bedtime. Such a waste as it’s actually hours of time I could be doing something.

Mumsnet, eating, or playing Roblox with DD.

I sort dinner for the dc and me, clear up, bath/bedtime and down by 8.30pm. Then I usually watch TV whilst fannying about on my phone and/or whatsapping friends. I always think I could use that time better, especially when the dc are at their dad's, but I somehow just don't... Might start doing some evening walks and actually the dc love an early evening park trip.

@tobee, I watch tv (more like listen with the occasional glance), or listen to audiobooks. It definitely consumes most of my attention! Who knew counting small numbers could be so hard? Grin

I always try to do a workout as soon as I finish work, followed by some yoga/stretching to reset my body after being sat at my desk all day. Whole thing takes 45 mins or so.

If I don’t do a workout (or if the weather’s nice!) DH and I will go out for a long walk (no DC).

Mostly I make tea, or occasionally DH does. Usually shower while tea’s on.

Eat tea, then read/watch TV/piss around on phone until bedtime.

Go to a recovery meeting, ride my horse, get a takeaway with my boys, catch up on ironing, admin etc, go for a walk, read a book, or pop round to my boyfriend's and watch Netflix, do my jigsaw, knit etc any of these, depending on the day, but my kids are 18 and 23 now, so are self sufficient obviously...

Make tea
Potter round the house doing random tidying and jobs
Make packed lunches for following day
Watch tv, surf net, piss around on iPad
Floss teeth, take make up off, moisturise my feet, get clothes ready for next day
Walk dog
Go to bed

Or something like that.

If we were back in normal times we'd have orchestra rehearsal two evenings a week plus usually a concert on one of the weekend evenings. Other than that we sit and eat dinner, practice our instruments and watch TV/read/play games. Pretty chilled usually.

Very very little. I may go for a walk. I cook and eat dinner early. Once a week I do my hair (of an evening so it calms back down by morning!). Once to 3xs a week I speak with family. I try to do chores and home administration on work day evenings too. We usually have a series on the go so we watch that of an evening. If ever I'm home alone I'd an evening I drink wine, listen to music and sew, I LOVE those evenings! I like to read before bed.

I work on my project of translating the Bible into Klingon, then practice the theremin before teaching my dog how to ride a bike. I squeeze in a quick meal of seaweed and popcorn before a late night seance and some Wicca chanting for the good fortune of my favourite umbrella influencers. If I'm lucky, DD won't keep me up by playing her Polynesian techno music too loudly, and DH will whip me up a carrot martini to help me get to sleep.

Not really. Dogs, homework, cleaning kitchen, DDs bedtime, bit of Telly. About average.

Cooking dinner, social media, watching telly, on phone to friends.

I would like to be sitting in the garden with a glass of wine, but not while it's this cold.

I have started joining ds once a week playing basketball at the court near us. He's almost 14 so I'm surprised he even wants me to come with him, but I love the bit of one on one time with him.

Me and dh have a PT session once a week at an outside old skool boxing gym.

Another evening is spent ferrying dd to martial arts.

I work late a lot of the time but am sorting my work life balance out a bit more. I'm also not being a domestic appliance for dh and teen dc so my chore list has reduced!

Pre covid I went to the pub a few evenings a week and out for dinner. My best mate also lives round the corner so saw her at least once a week too. I started spending every evening watching Netflix with dh and it was getting me down so I'm really happy about the basketball and pt sessions thats only recently started. I felt like life was passing me by being stuck in all day WFH and then all evening on a different screen.
