What is the most you have ever won?

Just out of curiousity what is the most you have ever won? Whether that be in a competition or on the lottery?

I can't even win £1 on a scratch card 🤣 I'm just wondering if people actually ever won anything?

Ps I'm not a gambler nor do I intend to gamble, this is purely just following a conversation me and my friend were having earlier.

When the lottery first started, I used to win between £10 - £40 moat weeks! The most I won was £160! Since that win, it went downhill and I haven’t won anything in years...sob!

TimeForTeaAndMe · 05/05/2021 23:38

@Zancah "fucking well done love" 😂😂
I had to comment just to say thankyou,
You have no idea how much that laugh was needed.
(Hurt a bit but worth it) 👍

Dexter box set.
200 scratch card.

AgeLikeWine · 05/05/2021 23:40

In cash, just over £100 with the office lottery syndicate. This was 20+ years ago, so it was a nice amount to win and we used it to help pay for a weekend in London.

I also won a trip to the Spanish Grand Prix a few years ago, on a chartered jet. That was quite cool.

JeremyIronsBenFolds · 05/05/2021 23:45

I won about £1200 on a slot machine in Vegas. That same holiday my friend won over £11,000 on a two dolllar spin. He paid for us to go to a three Michelin star restaurant with some of it, so I benefitted too Grin.

weegiemum · 05/05/2021 23:45

£250 Just Eat voucher, entered to a draw because I'd bought a bottle of Coke. Only time I've ever bought a drink on there, the prices are silly and we have plenty drinks in the fridge.

That bought quite a lot of curry!

GreenEyedMonsterMunch · 05/05/2021 23:47

£3.5k online bingo. Plus 3 x £1000 within the same few weeks.
Was a great boost to us and we got most of the house decorated and a new sofa etc.

I do play online bingo regularly so win £100-£500 quite often.

£500 lotto hotpicks from the bookies.

Designer handbag recently

1K on the Wheel of Fortune at my local social club.
5K on a prize draw run by a cashback site which went out of business. I had to take legal action to force them to pay up.

Tealvelvet · 05/05/2021 23:51

@Zancah ha ha spat out my tea lol

Therira · 05/05/2021 23:52

I won the pot noodle horn a while back when it was a big deal. Grin that’s all I’ve ever won, but I was super happy with it!!!!

Can I ask what bingo site? I never know where to play!

PurpleRainDancer · 06/05/2021 00:04

@PaddleBoardingMomma

Hmm not sure this qualifies as won...

But my husband took a shot at an auction on some Chinese coins and won, spent about £22 plus commission.

Sold them 6 months later at a heritage auction in Hong Kong for £250,000 ish.

Bloody hell that’s amazing Shock

£140 0n the lottery. yay!

HidingFromTheChildren · 06/05/2021 00:52

I have never won anything...but when I was 16 a chocolate business were doing a promo where if your wrapper had a person on it instead of a penguin you won £10,000.

(yes, they were penguin bars)

I didn't know & threw the wrapper away.

lboogy · 06/05/2021 00:54

£1200 in 99 for a radio competition

PaddleBoardingMomma · 06/05/2021 00:58

@PurpleRainDancer

It was such a stroke of luck, he wasn't even supposed to be at the auction that night! We never could have gotten on the property ladder without it and count out blessings daily!

FaceyRomford · 06/05/2021 00:58

£31K in a lottery syndicate. Enough for a new roof and a new (2nd hand) car.

HerRoyalNotness · 06/05/2021 01:00

A years worth of roadside assistance on MN and a stroller. Thought they were joking on the stroller, I’m not a winner. Although I do have $2 on a lottery I have to claim

Nat6999 · 06/05/2021 04:00

A share of £250k as part of a lottery syndicate, £8.5k on online bingo, lots of smaller wins of £1k+.

TheLesserOfTwoWeevils · 06/05/2021 04:06

Cash wise, £10 on the lottery a couple of times.

Biggest value prize was £40 in John Lewis vouchers in a raffle run by the army cadets at a local agricultural show. Treated myself to some nice makeup.

Ooh I did once win £250 in vouchers for being employee of the year in my last job, but that was earned rather than a random draw or competition

ForwardRanger · 06/05/2021 04:09

@FrenchyQ

£26000 on an online slot machine
Wow that's a lot? What did you spend it on? And can you please tell me about online gambling? Do you manage to stick to a certain amount of have you gotten carried away? (if you don't mind me asking)
ForwardRanger · 06/05/2021 04:12

Some of these are amazing!

I once won a cruise worth £6k and my other moderately large win was £1800 worth of product from a department store. I didn't even realise I'd entered the competition, apparently all store card holders were automatically entered. Such a great surprise!

youshallnotpass9 · 06/05/2021 05:06

@Smarties87

I entered a competition to win the dvd series of Cadfael (drama about a 12 century monk) in my local paper, about 5 years ago. My dad used to love watching it. I was so excited when it arrived in the post a week later. I honestly think I was the only one who entered ...Wink
If I had seen it, I would have entered it
