Anyone had AZ vaccine and been fine?

Had my first today at 5. Feel fine. No soreness in my arm. 5 hours post jab and I feel totally normal.

I’ve an important day at work tomorrow, loads to get done, deadlines to meet. I beed to be up early. Lying here in bed wondering if I’m going to be ill tomorrow, as almost everyone I know who’s had AZ has been.

I’m 35, not had covid (to my knowledge), and am healthy.

Wondering if I’ll get away side-effect free.
Have any of you been fine after it?

Had my first one on 27 March. Literally, was worried sick after reading all the bad publicity... No side effects, nothing..I even had glass of red wine after "to prevent clots".. I'm over 40 y.o., average health.

I timed mine for Sunday so I had a quiet day on the bank holiday afterwards but was pretty fine. A bit lethargic but had I needed to do things I could have done and it had passed by yesterday morning. None of the shivering/flu type stuff that some people report. My dad and sister were the same. A bit of a sore arm too but that doesn't stop me doing anything.

ChampionOfTheSun · 05/05/2021 03:56

I had the jab at 11am and was fine till roughly 11pm when I had the chills violently shivering for about 6 hours. Was then knackered until about 11am - probably more to do with dealing with that and a teething toddler than anything else - and then was completely fine. So not completely fine but manageable.

ChampionOfTheSun · 05/05/2021 03:58

Forgot to add I'm booked for the 2nd dose next week so fingers crossed it'll be uneventful Grin

Lesssaideasymended · 05/05/2021 04:01

Me! 37, had both doses only a mildly sore arm the day after

Namaste6 · 05/05/2021 04:11

I've had my first shot. Had it at 2pm, felt fine until the middle of the night when I woke with an extremely high temperature and chills. That completely disappeared the following morning to be replaced by a hungover feeling for the most of that day. By night, I was extra tied but feeling ok. Next morning completely fine. Never had a sore arm or jab area. Nothing at all.

Clutterbugsmum · 05/05/2021 05:41

I felt a little 'spaced out' the next day. Didn't feel Ill just not right.

Everyone in my family have had a achy arm for a day or two.

peoniesandpastels · 05/05/2021 05:48

I and a lot of my colleagues have had both doses. We are all relatively young - mid twenties to mid thirties. I would say about half of people felt unwell after, and half we're absolutely fine, just a sore arm or a little bit of a headache. Definitely not a foregone conclusion that you'll suffer with it!

garlictwist · 05/05/2021 05:49

I'd be interested to know how old people are who had no side effects as they say the younger you are the worse the side effects. I think it's fairly normal that a 97 year old wouldn't have any.

mindutopia · 05/05/2021 06:13

Yes, Dh and both felt generally fine. I had a bit of a headache the next day and was tired that week, but wouldn’t say that was massively unusual - I’m often tired!

Tronkmanton · 05/05/2021 06:30

Me. Absolutely no side effects at all, not even a sore arm.

Cottagepieandpeas · 05/05/2021 06:30

Yes, fine.

Bluntness100 · 05/05/2021 06:31

Cold like symptoms gone in 24 hours. The overwhelming majority are fine, which is millions and millions of people so far.

devildeepbluesea · 05/05/2021 06:32

No side effects whatsoever. Slightly sore arm but certainly didn't stop me doing anything.

devildeepbluesea · 05/05/2021 06:33

I'm 48.

Voomster953 · 05/05/2021 06:37

Justbeenjabbed · 05/05/2021 06:59

Good stuff! I hope your day goes well.
ShamrockHillz · 05/05/2021 07:05

Myself, dh, my mum, dad and brother have all had it without any side effects. I did have a slightly sore and stiff arm for a day but, other than that, nothing. Dh’s best friend had it and was sick (couldn’t get out of bed) for 3 days. My parents have both had their second with no side effects. My 2nd’s due end of May so fingers crossed I have no reaction again.

GlassBoxSpectacular · 05/05/2021 07:07

Me! Only one dose so far, but not even a sore arm Smile

Arbadacarba · 05/05/2021 07:32

Same as Bluntness - hopefully you won't even have that but if you do feel rough it won't last long.

ravelston · 05/05/2021 07:44

Me and my DH both felt fine after our first
DP's and PIL all felt fine after both doses.

ThePants999 · 05/05/2021 08:07

Ever so slightly sore arm for a few hours was all for me.

poppycat10 · 05/05/2021 08:12

I had a sore arm for a few days.

But I took paracetamol 30ish minutes before I went and again that evening to ward off any problems overnight. Didn't have any other side effects. I was quite headachey but it was "that" time of the month, so I am not at all sure the headaches were linked to the vaccine.

I know people say you shouldn't medicate for no reason, but we do it with babies when they have their jabs, and 4 paracetamol in the space of 12 hours isn't an overdose. And even if it was a placebo, so what, it worked.
