Anyone had AZ vaccine and been fine?

Had my first today at 5. Feel fine. No soreness in my arm. 5 hours post jab and I feel totally normal.

I’ve an important day at work tomorrow, loads to get done, deadlines to meet. I beed to be up early. Lying here in bed wondering if I’m going to be ill tomorrow, as almost everyone I know who’s had AZ has been.

I’m 35, not had covid (to my knowledge), and am healthy.

Wondering if I’ll get away side-effect free.
Have any of you been fine after it?

I had mine mid morning. 5hrs post jab I felt fine... 12hrs post jab however was a different story! At that point I have never felt so cold - despite DH saying I felt fine to touch. I slept very fitfully that night and the next morning It took me ages to "come round" was about mid morning before I felt ready for the day. OK after that except catching up on the bad sleep!
Hope all goes well for you tomorrow!

Thanks for reassurance! I’m going to close my eyes and think lucky thoughts!

Yes, just a sore arm. Not even a headache. Felt slightly cheated, almost as if it wasn't going to work if I wasn't unwell Grin

LawnFever · 04/05/2021 22:48

I had a bit of a sore arm and a headache the next day, but if it wasn’t bad enough to stop me doing anything

RampantIvy · 04/05/2021 22:48

DH had no side effecets at all. I had a very slight headache. I took some paracetamol at bedtime and was fine.

I think arranging a busy day after a covid jab was optimistic though.

TokyoSushi · 04/05/2021 22:50

Had mine about 7pm yesterday, felt absolutely fine up until about 5pm today, then felt very hot, achey, generally a bit weird until about 9pm, completely fine again now!

Bumzoo · 04/05/2021 22:53

Yes. Me, my DH, DSis, best friend, DS and BIL. No side effects at all although I was expecting them after reading stuff on here.

JudgeJ · 04/05/2021 22:54

@Justbeenjabbed

Ooh good, thanks everyone! Maybe now I can sleep!!
Don't have it in your sleeping arm, I had both in my left arm and as I got a bit of pain in the upper arm lying on that side made for a poor night's sleep. Stupidly, I did it both times!
Bumzoo · 04/05/2021 22:54

Not had Covid that I know of either, not even sore arms.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 04/05/2021 22:57

Dh had his 1st dose of AZ on Saturday and apart from a slightly sore arm he's been fine.

I had the same vaccine at the same time and had alllllll the common side effects for the next 36 hours

Branleuse · 04/05/2021 22:57

Me, my dp, my mum, my dad, my cousins friends. A little bit achy the next day but nothing 2 ibuprofen didnt sort.
I know a couple of people that felt a bit rough fir a couple of days

Skyliner001 · 04/05/2021 22:59

Literally everyone I know that's had it.

ServedWithAReg15 · 04/05/2021 22:59

Yes, i have been fine, i had mine on Saturday.
MIL and FIL also fine.

Justanotherlurker · 04/05/2021 23:01

It affects everyone differently???

You will have been given a sheet on possible outcomes, that is about as random as asking on a anonymous forum.

Surely you just wait until tomorrow and see how you feel, for everyone who was laid up in bed for day there is the opposite who just had a sore arm.

I'm beginning to come round to the idea that the internet shouldn't be anonymous, an online fingerprint showcasing the UK education system who also unironically call out critical thinking as a good thing.

MissVanji · 04/05/2021 23:03

I'm 30 had both AZ vaccines with no side effects apart from slight ache in the arm.

Nelia5 · 04/05/2021 23:03

Felt very tired the next day. Had to have a nap in the afternoon.

CoffeeRunner · 04/05/2021 23:04

I work at a GP run vaccination centre.

The vast majority have been fine after receiving either vaccine.

Speakuptomakeyourselfheard · 04/05/2021 23:04

Another one with no side effects whatsoever here.

myDOBiswaydownthedropdownlist · 04/05/2021 23:05

Many members of my large family have had it, some have had both doses and none of them have had anything other than a mildly sore arm. We are aged between 50 and 85. I always find it interesting that some people in trials report a variety of side effects even when they have not actually been given the vaccine. I am sure you will be ok, get some sleep though! You need that too!

ConnieDobbs · 04/05/2021 23:06

I felt a bit under the weather the next day but took paracetamol and was able to do a normal day's work.

CallingOnAvengingAngels · 04/05/2021 23:07

Yep absolutely fine here, bit of a sore arm like I'd knocked it and bruised it, for maybe 3 days. I was all ready for All The Side Effects and they never came.

MiddlesexGirl · 04/05/2021 23:09

The most I or anyone else I know has had is a sore arm.

Zancah · 04/05/2021 23:11

My dh, not a peep of anything. Said he wasn't even tired or achey.

groundcontroltomontydon · 04/05/2021 23:11

Bit of a sore arm (insect-bite grade) for a few days and that was it

heidipi · 04/05/2021 23:13

Yep, me and my DP have both had first doses of AZ with no side effects at all. My mum has had both doses - completely fine the first time, and the second time she woke up next morning feeling slightly ropey, took 2 paracetamol, went back to sleep and woke up again feeling fine. no problems since.
