Mine is doing the packed lunches. Fucking hate it, especially those stupid Sistema lunchboxes with the compartments that nothing fits in Grin not my best ever purchase

Deciding what to feed 4 other people every single day. If it was up to me o would live off peanut butter and jam on toast.

Disfordarkchocolate · 26/04/2021 21:00

Light-hearted - my hair, I've never managed being able to dry it properly, especially the back.

Serious - my mental health. Buggered by my last job.

Krook · 26/04/2021 21:03

Feeding my family. I know it's important in terms of sustaining them but every single thing about it annoys me. Every element from shop to dishwasher.
In my next life I'm having a private chef who does the shopping and the clearing up.

Thistimelastyear · 26/04/2021 21:03

Putting the cutlery away from the dishwasher. I just hate it!

Hellomylove · 26/04/2021 21:11

Food shopping and having to think of what to have week in week out. Shlepping round the supermarket picking everything, unload onto checkout, reload, unload into car, unload out of car, unpack bags and then spend the week cooking everything. Get me a private chef!!!!!

Ugzbugz · 26/04/2021 21:15

Work 😆 or my cat and the litter tray 😡

Bewareoftherabbits · 26/04/2021 21:26

Boyfriend's snoring, without doubt the most annoying thing in my life

We sleep separately most of the night but sometimes still hear him through the wall and it ruins holidays and having guests over

Hate it and he won't do f*ck all about it

I love him very much but my god I hate snoring

Supersimkin2 · 26/04/2021 21:28

Lone silver chin hair the width of a tightrope. Bruised fingers from never pinching it out.

marton4710 · 26/04/2021 21:33

Mobile menaces (phones) with people yacking on them in the street. I’m sure half the world take them to bed 😝
Packing sandwiches

recklessgran · 26/04/2021 21:34

Weeds. Bloody weeds - just why and how do they still grow even with the current level of drought? Fuckers.

shewalkslikerihanna · 26/04/2021 21:34

You pay to get a job done in the house..like decorating, new fence, outside walls painted
Then a couple of years later it all needs doing again.

the80sweregreat · 26/04/2021 21:41

Jobs , chores, running a home. All just never ending.

Turkishangora · 26/04/2021 21:42

@Bobbiebigbum

Getting the kids to bed every fucking night. I fucking hate it. The food requests. The resistance. The coming back down stairs multiple times. It's sucking the life of me.
I used to hate bedtime when mine were little too. It's supposed to be this golden bonding family time but once the day was done I just wanted them in bed, settled without the pita middle section. I would be desperate to get to the sofa child free to watch crap on TV. And DH used to take forever getting them down... Used to cause a fair few arguments. I'm so glad they keep to themselves to themselves in the evening and go to bed independently, one of the many things I prefer about having older kids.
LalalalalalaLand123 · 26/04/2021 21:42

Screens (kids' use of). Fucking destroying our family.

shewalkslikerihanna · 26/04/2021 21:43

@Gobbeldegook

Neighbors tree.

Blocks loads of our sunlight 🙄.

Then there's the apple splatter on all our back windows after every November storm.

Love hate relationship though, cause I do love watching the birds 😂.

Oh god yes Mahoosive sycamore outside my patio doors , belonging to neighbour It was pruned about 5 years ago Now back with a vengeance Then there’s all the leaves in autumn..l😡
YesPleaseMary · 26/04/2021 21:43

@Pliudev drill a hole in the bottom of your bin. No more bin vacuums and the bag will slide out easily.

My house. I love it and am grateful for it but it’s really too small for us, and although we’ve decluttered and tried to use every inch of space everything is such a faff. Move a to get to b, tidy everything straight away or it all descends into chaos...

LadyFidgetAndHerHandbag · 26/04/2021 21:46

Shaving. I feel like I waste so much of my time making myself unhairy and I'm naturally quite hirsute and it pisses me off. I revolted this winter cos I've not been swimming or at the gym and my husband can cope with seeing me in all my hairy glory so I've not shaved since October. Bliss.

Yes this too Sad

Livinglavidalockdown · 26/04/2021 21:56

Case notes!
Never fucking ending.

theworldsbiggestcrocodile · 26/04/2021 21:58

Two teen DD's who come in every bastard day and leave ALL their stuff in the kitchen. Take it upstairs. I beg of you.

MaryBoBary · 26/04/2021 21:58

Meal planning and cooking dinner. I hate it. And because we are all fussy we eat near enough the same meals every week. It's depressing for one one who loves food!

MaryBoBary · 26/04/2021 22:00

@Tlollj I had this exact problem so I got an undercut and my hair sits so much nicer now. No one would even know if you wear your hair down a lot.

DeeDimer · 26/04/2021 22:12

Coat hangers. They absolutely boil my piss how they stick together.

syringepumpadmin · 26/04/2021 22:13

Name change 'cos this is outing.

Syringe pumps

These are a small device that gives a continuous infusion of drugs over 24hrs. Mainly used in palliative care to give pain relief/ anti anxiety drugs so that a patient can either stay at home longer or in a care setting so they aren't having a dip in relief or being stuck with a needle every hour.

AnywAy - they are not cheap, around £1000 for the device and the lockbox etc.

The reason they are the Bain of my life:

  1. One company has the monopoly on these machines, they have had so many issues with them from batteries not fitting, only deeming one (expensive) make of battery safe for use, non stop bollox that causes so much hassle for the end users. But we can't get anything else that meets our needs.
  1. They go 'missing' all the fucking time. They are placed with a patient at home, patient goes's to hospital and pumps disappears into hospital stock. Or patient dies and family throw it away, Or my favourite - they turn up at boot fairs and on eBay.

I fucking hate dealing with them.

It's a real can't do the job without them so we're stuffed situation.

So if any of you lovely MNers are mini GPS manufacturers or medical device engineers And fancy designing something to break BD Dickersons monopoly - I'm in.

WhoPutThatThere · 26/04/2021 22:15

@RunHobbitRun

Lighthearted: Cooking of any description. I need to be wealthy enough for a private chef.

Serious: that my parent has MND. It's breaking me Sad

I went through this last year, it’s hideous. Don’t know how to send a hug is on here but here are some flowers instead Flowers to give you a little smile. MND Association are brilliant.
