If you saw a pregnant woman pull down her mask for a few moments, would you confront her?

Had a woman confront me today I’m a supermarket for pulling my mask down for a few gulps of air. Suddenly felt very faint and breathless and just needed to suck in a few deep breaths, then returned the mask to my face.
Woman confronted me, accusing me of putting the whole store in danger and how people like me are the reason we are in this situation in the first place. She hadn’t confronted anyone else wearing lanyards, just me.

Was I being unreasonable? Should I have just left the store? Or was she being OTT.

To all those saying these are conspiracy theories, I'd urge you to do a bit more digging... There are plenty of doctors and scientists speaking out on this but they will not get the air time on MSM, who's to say these otherwise well respected , time served, professionals shouldn't be at least listened to!? If any one could give an hour of there time I'd recommend watching Dr Simone Gold, from the Americans doctors association, this is one of many but a good start! Also the 'world's doctors alliance' is a good shout. You will probably need to search on 'brand-new tube' or 'duckduckgo' to access these.

I have to agree with all of what @CosmicHeat has said (and much more) it's an unpopular opinion but when you really do start looking outside of the news it really can change your whole viewpoint. It's not a conspiracy to think that the MSM want to portray a certain narrative. Not least because fear sells! Bill Gates also has contributed largely to the BBC and the WHO and has links to the lab where covid apparently came from. It's all a bit suss tbh.

They say they have done this to protect the vulnerable but those poor care homes took the brunt of this at the beging and no one with any logic could say that was a mistake , especially as this happened in states in America such as New York and else were too. Coincidence!?

The 'experimental vaccine' has skipped animal trials , this time anyway! Animals trials to make a coronavirus vaccine in the past worked great , until they all caught the natural virus and died. But wait , this isn't actually a vaccine , it's a never before tried mRNA , maybe this time round it'll be ok then. ..Let's hope!!!

I don't think it's at all selfish to take a step back and assess the way we've been messed about and lied to by the government these past 15 months and decide to do some outside research. This does not make you a conspiracy theorist it makes you very wise. Our health and our future generation's health (and democracy) is at play here and I think it would be very sensible to do some outside research.

It is very sad to anyone who has lost anyone of course it is and no one is going to be insensitive about that but it doesn't change facts. People do die , whether it be from being in n a road traffic accident , flu or a new strain of coronavirus. Most would have existing health problems to be effected to the point of unfortunately losing their life to a coronavirus and most who have lost their lives would have already outlived the average age of dying. Sometimes , but very rarely , flu can kill children too , it's tragic but occasionally happens. Long covid is the same as viral fatigue that some people suffer with long term after flu but again this isn't made to be common knowledge.

Keep an open mind guys.

I'm going to keep this short because you don't deserve the attention.

"No one is going to be insensitive" you are.

I know someoen who lost their mum in their twenties, with no health conditions, not having "outlived the average age of dying" within hours.

They'd love to read your views, I'm sure.

I've said before that the OP is not BU and agree that people should mind their own business when it comes to masks. But is there really any need for all the unpleasant, misogynistic language like 'bitch' and 'Karen'?

Heidi1976 · 28/04/2021 08:48

My issue is that a load of these self appointed covid policers are the ones who are vaccinated and have protection. It's been proven the stop transmission and severe illness, why are they getting so het up about it now??

pam290358 · 28/04/2021 09:05

@Ilovewatermelon. You say this is not conspiracy theory but ‘outside research’. I have three problems with that - firstly that the average man in the street is not a scientist and therefore really not qualified to interpret complicated data sets, so inevitably this kind of approach will only serve to fuel more conspiracy theories. Secondly, you are citing various people’s links with a lab in Wuhan ‘where Covid apparently came from’, despite the fact that the WHO investigated this and published extensively, their pretty categorical conclusion that the virus outbreak which started the pandemic had come from a natural reservoir and not from the escape of any experimental virus from that, or any other laboratory. So really, you are continuing to pursue a conspiracy theory that has been roundly discredited. My third point is that you call the vaccines ‘experimental’. They are not. They have been tested as thoroughly as possible given the the urgency of the need to get the virus under control and we are not ‘lab rats’. The use of terminology like that is an insult to all those who have worked on providing an effective vaccine. Yes, there have been some problems connected with vaccination but it’s a learning curve.

Covid isn’t a conspiracy theory, it’s a real and devastating disease which has killed millions. Yes governments across the world have made mistakes in handling the pandemic, including the UK government, but given that Covid is entirely new, that was inevitable. I’m not trying to defend all of the decisions that have been made by the UK government because I struggle to make sense of some of the lockdown restrictions, but before we all rush to level criticism, maybe we should be looking at what’s happening in Brazil and India, who are struggling with lack of vaccines and indecisive governments. The UK now has an effective vaccine programme and the numbers are going down. Instead of picking holes in it, perhaps we should be grateful that we have it at all.

@ShutUpAlex

I’m ok! I usually quite enjoy causing a scene but had my 6 year old with me and I was concentrating very hard on not being sick!
You should've stopped trying and aimed at her feet. Grin
Thatisnotwhatisaid · 28/04/2021 10:54

Crikey, I see enough people who haven’t bothered wearing one at all to really not be worried about someone pulling it down for a few seconds. Also the people who don’t cover their nose, there’s just no point.

GrandTheftWalrus · 28/04/2021 10:56

The boxes of face masks that are in my work were made in Wuhan. Some people are a bit funny at wearing them.

pam290358 · 28/04/2021 11:39

I had an internet supermarket shop delivered yesterday and the delivery driver wasn’t wearing a mask. The district nurse who visits once a week wasn’t wearing one today either. Do they know something we don’t ?

nitsandwormsdodger · 28/04/2021 11:49

I do this all the time not pregnant just fat
Covid has really brought out the nutters

pam290358 · 28/04/2021 12:14

To anyone who has a medical condition precluding them from wearing a mask, or those who just struggle and pull them down for a breather. If you are confronted by the Covid Police, just ask them one simple question. ‘Before I’m prepared to discuss with you why I am not wearing a mask, could you please tell me exactly how you are medically or otherwise qualified to decide whether or not this is acceptable’ ? If they’re not, tell them to fuck off.

pam290358 · 28/04/2021 12:23

Sorry, posted too soon. The Covid Police are the same type of people who confront me about my blue badge when I park in a disabled space - especially in supermarket car parks. From behind the wheel, seated, I don’t look disabled and it takes me a while to get myself sorted enough to use the wheelchair hoist installed in the car to bring the chair round to the driver’s door. You wouldn’t believe the amount of times someone has rushed over the second I pull in and open the door, to tell me - sometimes quite aggressively that I ‘don’t look very disabled’. They’re usually red faced and apologetic when they realise their mistake but it doesn’t stop me from getting bloody annoyed at the fact that some people think they’re entitled to an explanation of your medical condition before they leave you in peace. I feel really sorry for anyone who has a hidden disability - the fact that you have a blue badge issued by the local authority should be enough. The reasons you’ve been issued with one are nobody else’s business.

pam290358 · 28/04/2021 12:25

Apologies to the OP - didn't mean to derail your thread.

@wantanotherdog have you genuinely been checked out to make sure you haven't contracted a secondary infection, potentially bacterial, from wearing a mask for prolonged periods. It would be worth eliminating the possibility.

@pam290358 I have a degree in science does that make a difference now? Am I magically better than the lay man because I have a piece of paper saying I'm trained in Science? Will you treat me as one of the priest class now?

If the vaccine has been thoroughly tested, why are the trials not ending until 2023/2024? What are the long term effects of the vaccine in 5 years, 10 years? Why do the vaccine manufacturers have no liability for their product, would you trust any other manufacturer that didn't have liability over the safety of their product? Why do the vaccinated still have to wear masks etc? Why are 60% of newly hospitalised patients vaccinated?

All we are suggesting is ask why. In every other debate on a science topic any side is given reasonable air time, not this time, why? The WHO have said lockdowns aren't a sensible way of managing a pandemic yet we've been in 3, all based of incredibly faulty data modelling, why? Why is no one talking about the far more harmful effects of lockdowns? Why was the fact that the WHO inadvertently showed that covid is as deadly as the flu now picked up and shouted from the hill tops? Why are any good news stories about covid suppressed? Why is it always be afraid be very afraid? Do exactly what we say (not what we do mind you) and you'll be just fine?

pam290358 · 30/04/2021 08:12

@CosmicHeat. Yes.

nopuppiesallowed · 30/04/2021 09:02

CosmicHeat
Yes. I've been checked out for a secondary infection.
I don't suppose that polio and other vaccines were checked out to see if they had deleterious effects 5 yrs later, but am happy to be corrected on this.
Lockdowns seem to work according to all the charts I've seen.
Why would the politicians in every country be using tactics to scare their countrymen? It doesn't make sense to think that every one is colluding in a massive fraud - except the governments of Australia and New Zealand ( who have vanishingly low rates of infection). And lastly, and knowing someone working for an international press organisation in a qualified professional capacity, the press would have been on an international conspiracy like a pack of rats by now - and they aren't.

?

The reason the debate doesn't happen I because most people aren't insensitive, self indulgent people who want to tell people who have LOST RELATIVES their ignorant theories.

Praise be to God for people with a sensible head on their shoulders Halo. If I'd have had the energy I would have written a similar spiel. And I suppose it's a 'conspiracy theory' too that the four companies producing the shots have paid BILLIONS in fines for being deeply, deeply corrupt oh and lookie here they're not liable for anything that happens to you once you've taken it either. Sigh. I can't deal with MN anymore. Too any deeply indoctrinated and sound asleep people who think they know more than anyone else.

The press!? As in the MSM!? Oh dear Lord. Look into who owns and funds these organisations for a start. They are as corrupt as the day is long. And while you're doing that take a look at who the spiritual advisors to the United Nations are, I'll give you a hint, they're called the Lucis Trust. If you're smart you'll be able to work it out from there.

A virus that hasn't even been isolated? Ok then. My MIL died 'of COVID' and it's the biggest load of BS I ever did hear. In reality she was very unwell and didn't die of bloody COVID at all.

Also interesting to note death rates aren't actually up over the last year. In a 'pandemic'!? Ok then. Oh and the flu 'disappeared'! What do you know. I'm just sorry people are too stupid to realise, AFTER A WHOLE YEAR, that this is a complete scam.

Oh and I forgot to mention the survival rate, over 99% for most of the population! All verifiable information you can find for yourself, from official sources to boot. As you were.
