Your top 3 fav veg

Had this conversation with my husband and kids a while ago... Can't remember their answers but do remember their shock when I said sweetcorn as apparently according to my husband it doesn't count, it's an addition or filler.
So my favourite 3 vegatables (in no order) are
Leeks
Sweetcorn
Broccoli
What's everyone else's and do they agree that sweetcorn /peas are 'fillers'?

Broccoli
Asparagus
Brussel Sprouts

Corn, but it's a grain.

WalkingDownTheStreet · 21/04/2021 23:28

Swede mashed with butter and salt, carrot mashed with butter and salt, long-stemmed broccoli steamed.

I love so many veg but I can't be arsed cooking them.
Corn on the cob is divine. Coated with butter and gnaw into it like an animal out of the zoo.
Brussels sprouts too cooked in the water the ham or bacon was boiled in. Cauliflower cheese? How could you not!

I usually end up eating frozen green beans though!

partyatthepalace · 21/04/2021 23:30

Tomatoes
Purple sprouting broccoli
Peppers

Sweet corn I think of as sort of semi pig feed or something - although that could be because I ate Leon’s sweet corn ribs today and then realised they are FIVEHUNDRED calories. It’s a piddling veg side FFS. So it’s over between me and sweetcorn now.

Celeriac beetroot and asparagus

Marguerite2000 · 22/04/2021 01:17

Cucumber, leeks, cauliflower.

Frownette · 22/04/2021 01:25

Ah, that is a tricky one.

Actually I can't answer unless it's 6 (just pretend I'm numerically impaired):

Artichokes, spinach, mashed swede, broccoli, cauliflower cheese, sprouts.

Even with 6 it wasn't easy.

22Giraffes · 22/04/2021 03:00

Corn on the cob
Roasted carrots

Furries · 22/04/2021 04:03

I haven’t RTFT! My top 3 are Brussel sprouts, peas and carrots.

Actually, a plate of those 3, with lashings of thick gravy, would do me for dinner on a night of no inspiration!

Etherealhedgehog · 22/04/2021 04:36

If we're not going to worry about the whole 'it's actually a fruit/fungus' thing then cucumber, mushrooms, asparagus

PhilCornwall1 · 22/04/2021 04:44

Hmmm difficult, as I love pretty much all veg, I could eat platefuls of the stuff for my meals. I guess my list would go:

Leeks
Cabbage (sorry, I love the stuff!!)
Cauliflower

LargeInCharge · 22/04/2021 06:41

Asparagus
Cauliflower
Peas

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 22/04/2021 06:45

Asparagus
Onion
Cabbage

This is obviously if potatoes are not being counted, otherwise, they'd probably be number 3 instead of cabbage!

Pinchoftums · 22/04/2021 07:32

I'm going to put my three worst down so the rest can be basically my top one

Spring onion
Boiled carrots
Swede

Everything else is amazing.

Coldilox · 22/04/2021 07:37

Broccoli
Sprouts
Spring onion

Chunkymenrock · 22/04/2021 07:40

Butternut squash, carrots, tender runner beans. I assume salad and potato are excluded?

MagicSummer · 22/04/2021 07:47

Asparagus, French beans, babycorn.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 22/04/2021 07:49

Mushrooms
Asparagus
Spinach
