Had this conversation with my husband and kids a while ago... Can't remember their answers but do remember their shock when I said sweetcorn as apparently according to my husband it doesn't count, it's an addition or filler.
So my favourite 3 vegatables (in no order) are
Leeks
Sweetcorn
Broccoli
What's everyone else's and do they agree that sweetcorn /peas are 'fillers'?

I see this thread got middle class quite quickly

Think the mighty onion is getting very over looked here, it's in everything! If it's more stand alone veg then broccoli, peas, leeks.

Sweet corn doesn't count because it's filler?

My entire culture (my family is Mexican) is based around (maize) corn. Tell your husband that it is most definitely NOT a filler. It's essential to life!

It is so essential to me, it doesn't go on my list of favorite vegetables because it just is! Saying that, onions, garlic, chilies, tomatoes and avocados (they're a fruit but you know what I mean) are also part of that essential list so I won't include them.

My three are:

Lima beans (Butter beans in the UK)
Courgette
Asparagus

Red onion
(tomatoes if applicable but not cherry tomatoes)
Kale

Am I allowed...
Roasted parsnips
Sweet potato fries
Cauliflower cheese

Peppers
Corn on the cob
