Me and DP are having a debate

We ordered from the local chippy tonight and I think it’s really expensive at 35.00 for 4 cheesy chips,2 savaloys and 2 sausages !

He thinks this is average 😂

I admit I haven’t got chip shop since I was a child when our mum would send us with 5.00 to feed 3 kids !

Lesson learned ! 😂

single portion cheesy chips £6.30, saveloys £3.25 each, and £3.00 each for large battered sausage.

That would be £20-£25 in oxford and that's for large sausages. Just had it!

we had two fish suppers and a single breaded fish for £18 the other day...you get soooooooo many chips that we have given up on ordering three suppers and just split the two lots of chips between the three of us, and one is a bottomless teen!

Arghh. In the back of beyond, two decent sized fish and a very large chips (all done to perfection) with a large mushy peas - £4.50. Large sausage 70p with small chips £1 with standard chips and gravy. I always knew it was only here that there was true civilisation....

Our local chippy would charge £13.50 for your order, we are up north though so cheap as chips here.

Saveloys aren't a thing here. Four sausage suppers are £20.80, or four cheesy chips and four sausages are £25.60.

Very expensive!

Just looked at the local chippy on Just Eat and it’s bang on £18 for the same order.
That’s in the Midlands.

Round here, small cod and chips (which is a very large portion!) is £5.

I got a fish and chips, battered pizza supper and 2 sausage suppers for 35 quid yesterday. It is stonkingly expensive and a rare treat.

That is really expensive. I got DS a chippy tonight and a small battered sausage and small chips was £2.70.

Chippy tea is only expensive if you have a big bit of fish, round here. Sausages are about the cheapest thing on the menu in most places so that's extortionate!

That’s expensive. We were in Whitby over Easter and it cost £25 for fish and chips three times plus 4 scallops and 2 portions of chips.

Although I've just checked and that would be £22 at our nearest one.

I work in a chip shop. I have no idea what a saveloy is but Google shows it similar to what we call a smoked sausage and your order would have came to £22.

32 quid here for that! SW London (probably very near you!!) plus delivery so - yep, 35!

Chips and cheese £3.40 each
2 Sausages £2.90
They don't do saveloy so will assume same price as smoked sausage which is also £2.90

Total £19.40

Thats nothing .. Try living in the Lake District.. Ordered (you have to order it gets so busy) lunch for tomorrow for four adults and 3 kids and its just shy of £60!!

Moving to a SW postcode V soon but doesn’t look like our chip shop order will get any cheaper 😅

I thinks that's really expensive. Bought 2 chips, 3 large sausages and a large mushy peas for just over £9 earlier this week. Chips were gerous portions too.
