If I walked into your office carrying this bag

What would your first thought be? Too loud? Too big? Great bag to fit everything in?

I work in an industry where people carry backpacks to work and it's very male dominated so people wouldn't think anything.

ClarkeGriffin · 16/04/2021 15:40

I'd think you or your kids had ripped the bag and you'd tried fixing it the best you could with what you had lying around the house.

GreyhoundG1rl · 16/04/2021 15:40

Do you really only want a bag you can make an impression with? I'd never say "like your taste in bags" to anyone, I really wouldn't notice anyone's bag.

BlueDahlia69 · 16/04/2021 15:40

It's pretty

ForThePurposeOfTheTape · 16/04/2021 15:41

I wouldn't pay £350 for that bag which looks like it would cost a fraction of that at Orla Kieley or similar

LadyofMisrule · 16/04/2021 15:41

I think it's lovely, but if you are carrying a laptop and papers, a rucksack is far more practical (and better for your back).

Inapanini · 16/04/2021 15:41

@TakeYourFinalPosition no worries at all, they’re very well hidden! :)

PLAYJAJADINGDONG · 16/04/2021 15:43

It's looks like a bog standard beach bag copying an Orla Kiely print (all of which I dislike immensely).

I would be surprised to find out it cost £35, never mind £350.

KingdomScrolls · 16/04/2021 15:43

I like it but it's quite big for a day to day bag, looks more like an overnight bag

notangelinajolie · 16/04/2021 15:43

I wouldn't anything.

Kokosrieksts · 16/04/2021 15:43

I’m not into bags, but I wouldn’t think a thing. A normal bag.

midnightstar66 · 16/04/2021 15:43

It reminds me of tiles from 80's bathrooms. That's what I thought when I saw the picture so perhaps what I'd think seeing someone carry it in to work too

wesowereonabreak · 16/04/2021 15:45

I don’t particularly like it but wanted to go for something different

Confused

do you realise how ridiculous that sounds?
Plus that bag doesn't remotely look unsuitable for any work environment, corporate or pre-school or whatever.

Buy a bag you like. Then who cares what people think. I have a thing for oversize bags, I honestly don't think most people even notice them.

Foolintherain · 16/04/2021 15:45

I'd think ,oh yes, Primark is open again, must pop in for some new knickers

Me too, though most city folk bring backpacks with gym gear and laptop usually. The days of briefcases are over. I've a great big jallopy of a nondescript silver bag from TK Maxx. Illuminous pink backpack usually when heading to gym. Wear trainers on commute, so handbag carries lunch and heels and makeup and tonnes of shit.
balloonsintrees · 16/04/2021 15:46

I merrily walk in and out of offices with this bag...
Yes it is Disney, it is by Coach and cost stupid money - but it makes me happy, carries everything I need it to and is leather.
If the bag suits your purpose and you like it, then buy it. The bag should be for you and no one else.

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 16/04/2021 15:46

I'd think you had quite a high opinion of yourself if you thought anybody really cared what handbag you were using!!

hamandcgeese · 16/04/2021 15:47

Love it, I would admire it

Spied · 16/04/2021 15:48

I'd think the design looks like something you'd get free with a perfume purchase.
I'd then see the label and wonder why you didn't buy something more versatile.

FuckyouCovid21 · 16/04/2021 15:48

I probably wouldn't notice either, it's an OK bag, not really my style as I prefer plain, but there's nothing OTT or hideous about it's just personal taste innit. I tend to stick to tan coloured bags as I feel they go with most of my work and casual clothes but others probably think I'm pretty boring

Presumably you're not expecting anyone to go into raptures about your bag (and I certainly wouldn't)? Op is anxious to find a bag that everyone will swoon over.
SmileyClare · 16/04/2021 15:49

Blimey, some no nonsense opinions on here, no one's mincing their words are they? Grin

I think the whole office will turn and gasp at your cool bag, it'll be talk of the office!

Honestly? I quite like it but would find it hard to tie it in with outfits, or get it to match all my clothes. It's a bit of a "statement" bag.

Maggiesfarm · 16/04/2021 15:50

If I noticed and I don't notice much, I would think it was really nice. Quite appropriate for work because it holds a lot.

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/04/2021 15:50

I think it's OK but if you told me the price I would think you were mad.

DeciduousPerennial · 16/04/2021 15:51

I wouldn’t care what anyone in my office thought about any bag I was thinking of buying.

If I like it, that’s all I care about.
