To ask how many bras you own?

Random question yes but how many?
I ask because I stopped breastfeeding 5 weeks ago (I'm heartbroken it's over but that's irrelevant) and don't want to be wearing maternity/nursing/unsupportive bras of course so I've just ordered myself some today. I've not gone mad, just from George but I've ordered 7. Couple of nicer lacie ones, but mainly just basic bras. Came up in conversation with DH (shared finances, no issues with me buying them at all) and he seemed surprised I'd bought so many. I guess before babies etc I just sort of accumulated bras...so would have different sizes in circulation which would get binned as I changed size/shape. This is a fresh bra start I suppose as I have none that fit.
Is 7 extravagant? I guess I just want to know if he has a point...

None! Can’t stand the things.
I’m autistic, with sensory issues about clothing. Tight sweaty elastic round my ribs is a definite No. Ditto synthetic fabrics, like polyester shirts.

freeandfierce · 16/04/2021 08:38

About 35, all various sizes and types depending on my weight!

Everythingmagnolia · 16/04/2021 08:40

Number of bras I own - about 25

Number of bras I actually wear - 3

JaceLancs · 16/04/2021 08:41

Loads but due to weight gain only 6 that fit!
2 each black white and nude

newtb · 16/04/2021 08:41

13 or 14 matching sets and 3 others

DoingItMyself · 16/04/2021 08:42

Lots. Went through them earlier this week and sorted the bigger ones for throwing/charity shop. Still have plenty (twenty?) and don't need to buy any.
I have three in regular use. When they wear out I'll replace them from stock.

LakieLady · 16/04/2021 08:45

Probably over 20 (I counted 19 in the drawer, there's one on the airer and my "gardening bra" seems to have gone missing).

That's partly because I've recently lost quite a bit of weight and had to go down from a 38E to a 36G/GG though, so bought half a dozen new ones. I'm not throwing the old ones away, in case I put on weight again.

QueenPaw · 16/04/2021 08:47

About 35 or so. Only one style really fits perfectly (elomi Matilda) but the others are passable

TeddingtonTrashbag · 16/04/2021 08:48

I have dozens but actually on a daily basis only wear maybe 3or 4 black and nude -others for summer/pretty colours styles etc.

Angrypregnantlady · 16/04/2021 08:50

I have four that I wear normally, black grey and nude. Two nice ones with underwire and padding black and white. And a few that I don't really like but keep in my draw in case I need a bra and don't have any that I like clean.

Pleasure · 16/04/2021 08:55

About 20? All Glamorise ones, all non wired, they're the only ones that fit me and are comfortable (44J) Not sexy in the slightest 😂 I wear once then they go in the wash so I like having lots.

Lifes too short to wear uncomfortable bras op!

Pinkyavocado · 16/04/2021 08:56

God knows probably 30 or so.

mermaidsariel · 16/04/2021 08:59

This makes me feel much better. I have about 20. I’ve bought several new ones recently. I need to lose weight though so it seems really silly to buy new ones. Some of them don’t fit anymore and are never worn.

blowinahoolie · 16/04/2021 09:00

Around 8.

ElsasFrozenVerucca · 16/04/2021 09:18

3 that fit

Howmanysleepsnow · 16/04/2021 09:25

2 multi-way/ strapless ones that always fit (one nude, one black)
1 navy that fits
1 pink and 1 lilac that fit 1 month and 7lb ago but are now too small (hopefully will fit in a month or 2).

Rockbird · 16/04/2021 09:28

About 6 I guess. Although I just got a Molke yesterday and I absolutely love it! If I still love it in a weeks time I'm going to buy a couple more and chuck out all my others.

Shelvesoutofbooks · 16/04/2021 09:37

@DanielRicciardosSmile the irony here is that I actually do have a 32kk cup and this is why I have 40 Grin I buy most of them on brastop when sales are on, and I have 40 because my boobs are so heavy I need support! With this many bras I can wait until I've worn most of them and then wash them all together roughly once every 5 weeks, and because of that most of them are still as supportive as when I bought them. And I've had some for 3/4 years!

Mumoblue · 16/04/2021 09:39

Too many but only 2 that fit me since I had my son. Need to go for a fitting when everything is open again- I keep “popping out” of the one I’ve got, which is the one I got after I measured myself so I’ve obviously gone wrong somewhere!! Blush

Pyewackect · 16/04/2021 09:40

10-12 !.

GladAllOver · 16/04/2021 09:41

Just two, one black, one white for when I really have to wear one. Otherwise they stay in the drawer.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 16/04/2021 09:45

5 that I wear all the time, and about 5 more that serve a particular purpose (sports, strapless, nude, etc). The 5 main ones must be Chantelle - after years of research I've accepted it's actually wasteful to buy cheaper bras, as they just don't fit me well. Luckily Lingerie outlet often has Chantelle on massive discount if you don't mind random colours. Hence why I have pink, purple, coral and cornflower undies.

MilkWasABadChoice · 16/04/2021 09:55

I’ve got masses - more than a dozen. But only TWO that are comfortable. Sloggi Zero Feel ones with no wire and my god they are the best. Why did I only discover them so recently?? I love them. Thank you Sloggi.

lioncitygirl · 16/04/2021 09:57

I have about 40-ish. I use all of them.

readingismycardio · 16/04/2021 09:58

I used to have quite a lot but I binned the lot
And got myself some beautiful ones from Intimissimi.

2 nude
3 white
3 black
1 navy

  • 6-7 sports bras.
