To ask how many bras you own?

Random question yes but how many?
I ask because I stopped breastfeeding 5 weeks ago (I'm heartbroken it's over but that's irrelevant) and don't want to be wearing maternity/nursing/unsupportive bras of course so I've just ordered myself some today. I've not gone mad, just from George but I've ordered 7. Couple of nicer lacie ones, but mainly just basic bras. Came up in conversation with DH (shared finances, no issues with me buying them at all) and he seemed surprised I'd bought so many. I guess before babies etc I just sort of accumulated bras...so would have different sizes in circulation which would get binned as I changed size/shape. This is a fresh bra start I suppose as I have none that fit.
Is 7 extravagant? I guess I just want to know if he has a point...

6 or 7 probably.

RiojaRose · 15/04/2021 22:06

About 7, but only one currently fits me properly. Glad I didn’t bin it when I lost a bunch of weight a few weeks before the pandemic hit. The other 6 will be back in circulation a year or so from now when I’ve lost the weight again.

PuffItsGone · 15/04/2021 22:06

I have about 20. How many do I wear? Maybe 3? Grin

CaviarAndCigarettes · 15/04/2021 22:06

Currently only two that fit,
Definitely need to order more, thanks for the reminder

I just had a big bra de-clutter. Out with the old and in with 5 new ones, all the same sloggi. I found these from a bra thread on MN. I had surgery a couple of years ago and couldn't find anything comfortable. Theese are great.
And no I don't have matching pants, and they get washed every 3 or 4 days.

Watto1 · 15/04/2021 22:07

Everyday bras - 5
Sports bras - 2
Incredibly uncomfortable strapless bra that only gets worn once in a blue moon when I really can’t wear a normal bra - 1
Strange grey bra that pulls on over my head and does my boobs no favours at all looks-wise but is incredibly comfy - 1

Sleepisoverrated150 · 15/04/2021 22:08

6 - two strapless and 4 normal bras. As a 34FF/ G they get expensive. If I could buy from asda etc I would definitely own more.

Just brought two bikinis and my OH nearly spat out his tea when I came to nearly £100, I need support 😂🤣

Sleepisoverrated150 · 15/04/2021 22:08

Oh and 2 sports bras

MamaBearThius · 15/04/2021 22:08

Hmmm I have no idea what size I am. What measuring method is that? I've spent my entire boob life having a (3) drawer(s) of different sized bras, only to rummage through and find the one or two that fitted/supported etc. I'm quite excited at the thought of a fresh start (once I stop mourning the breastfeeding thing...honestly I tear up most days)

I buy about 10 per year, currently favouring the bralette style.

Asda definitely do this size =) I've been really impressed with the quality previously. Plus, I've just spent £40 something on these 7

15+
haven't actually counted.
Why?

DanielRicciardosSmile · 15/04/2021 22:11

Two at the moment. I'm guessing those with loads of bras don't have KK cups and gave to spend 50 quid on one!

oobedobe · 15/04/2021 22:11

I had to order new ones online after putting on a bit of weight, I guessed my size and got SO lucky with a make/model that fit perfectly, I now have 4 perfectly fitting bras, 2 black 2 nude. (and I didn't have to get sweaty trying on 30 in a changing room!). They were expensive so not rushing to get any more for now...

I have plenty that don't fit perfectly, but my boob size can change quite a lot if I loose 5-6 pounds so I will keep them all for now!

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/04/2021 22:12

About 4 white, 4 black and 4 nude ones. Different styles for different clothes. A few colourful ones and another few bralette type ones too. So about 20. Thought that would be about average.

NormanStangerson · 15/04/2021 22:16

Why is every thread about bras? I mean, it makes a change to Meghan and Philip and the fucking pandemic...

Bourbonic · 15/04/2021 22:17

About 30, give or take a few. About 5 of those get worn a lot and the others are either fancy bedroom stuff or just sits languishing in the drawer.

NoBetterthanSheShouldBe · 15/04/2021 22:17

2 black 2 white underwired, I nude non-underwired for moderate exercise, sports bra. 4 Lacy bralets in bright colours that I rarely wear.

OldBean2 · 15/04/2021 22:22

Easily 60 or 70 plus matching sets and I have just had a huge clear out.

georgarina · 15/04/2021 22:24

Around 10 I think

subbysammiexoxo · 15/04/2021 22:31

2 decent bras one back up and a few vest tops/lighter sports bras that defo do not do the job for my larger chest but I've been waiting to get back out and try more on

sunnydaleslayer · 16/04/2021 08:23

About 8, but most of them are sports bra/crop top types. I have small breasts so don't need the extra support just yet so stick with them for ease and comfort.

Appletreehat · 16/04/2021 08:31

About 20. I am still nursing so about 7 of those are nursing bras. My lovely lacy numbers will have to wait abit longer!
