AIBU to watch some of the mummy vloggers and be grateful for my life rather than aspiring to theirs...

Emily Norris spoke with quite an Essex accent, three years later she sounds Canadian even though she has lived in Essex all that time. And don’t get me started on the way she mops the floor with bare feet and the soles are filthy. Conversely, how she stands on her kids’ beds in her slippers, that she has worn outdoors, to make them. Why? This is supposed to be aspirational?

Lucy Jessica Carter comes across really odd. It’s like she’s reading from a really bad script. And thinks she is brilliant at styling and interiors but... well...

James and Carys are going to be insufferable now they have had a baby. James is so patronising and comes across as controlling. And the pair of them are so spoilt.

The Saccone-Jolys... where do I start?

I know I’m supporting them when I watch them but I love to watch and cringe! Guilty pleasure.

I'm on this thread because it's a chat forum and because you started it....literally asking "AIBU to watch some of the mummy vloggers and be grateful for my life rather than aspiring to theirs?"

Or did you forget that? 😂

Throwing a strop because someone posts an opinion you don't care for, is just....well rather silly isn't it?

@bishbashbosh99

Honestly can't believe people watch these attention seeking liars
its better than what the tv has to offer...sometimes i just need to sit and watch something which doesn't require much thought

also, with isolation/covid,,its been quite nice to see and hear a real person right in front of you, talking about familiar mundane things

i don't apologise for enjoying some of this content.....some good tips and ideas to be had. I love Shamsa as we get to see a snapshot of family life in a Muslim household. really enjoyed that.

MakingPlans21 · 15/04/2021 19:01

@Bluebird2021 agreed, well said.

@WorraLiberty has the dog shat on your dinner? You just want to argue. I’ve seen you do the same on other threads. What do you get out of it?

Says the poster who's getting worked up about what some woman wears on her feet when she's mopping her floor 😅😅

Seriously OP, just chill.

You're taking the internet far too seriously with your irritation over Vloggers and some of the posts on MN.

Breathe and find your inner calm Blush

Oh I love James and Carys! I'm a horrible cynic but I think they are just innocent summer children who see good in everything! They are already learning that the best laid plans do not necessarily work out.

I do wonder how much they earn to afford that house, car and all the renovations though! I hope they save some as this fame is fleeting. I also worry that they show too much of where they live. I don't live near Cardiff but I've visited a lot and I'm pretty sure I know roughly where they live so it wouldn't take much to find it.

@sylbunny perhaps they have that because they came from wealthy parents and life had ways been easy (although Carys sometimes makes it seem hard!). I think the baby will be a massive wake up call after the initial high wears off... 🤣

Did you seriously just type that? 😅😅

Fair play, that did make me laugh and my dad's bigger than your dad

Ew. This sort of thread belongs on tattle, I always like to think MN is a bit better than this shameless slagging off.

BlackBucketOfCheese · 15/04/2021 19:49

Or have you tried and failed and that's what this is really about?

Those can’t really be the only choices?
You either like it and watch it or don’t like it and don’t watch it?

The content is there for people to consume in whichever manner they desire.
I don’t think it is a choice of only bitter or sadness at a failure that makes someone have a bitch/hate watch/gossip/dislike and continue to consume something.
That’s a very simplistic way of looking at it.

BlackBucketOfCheese · 15/04/2021 19:51

Throwing a strop because someone posts an opinion you don't care for, is just....well rather silly isn't it?

And the same could be said about vloggers etc. who post asking for opinions or sharing their opinions and daily routines and then run to newspapers crying because someone shares an opposing view that they don’t disagree with.

BlackBucketOfCheese · 15/04/2021 19:54

@WorraLiberty it wasn’t me who your husband cheated on you with!

I agree. Don't see the point in moaning about them on MN.

Bluebird2021 · 15/04/2021 20:04

threads about vloggers are fine here on MN

or does every topic need to go away to its own forum.....my gardening questions for example, does that need to bugger off to gardeners world website forum section?no. its fine here

sylbunny · 15/04/2021 20:06

@MakingPlans21

I don't think that's all of it. James has said before that his parents aren't as wealthy as Carys's. Obviously hers are minted though and that's probably allowed them to pursue this 'career' in a way that most of us can't.

In the early days they had quite a modest house and now they've got this huge house in a very posh part of Cardiff and they've bought a couple of ridiculously posh cars! Add on all the renovations and they must be currently rolling in it!

I doubt the baby will make much difference. Not like they have to get up and go to work!

It would be good if some threads could not be in AIBU. But there's no 'Moaning about Mummy Vloggers' topic so I guess this is as good as any or maybe Chat.

Sleepisoverrated150 · 15/04/2021 20:36

I’m a bit confused what’s happened to this thread. I watch mummy bloggers and others don’t.

Some people like cheese and some people don’t etc. Everyone is allowed a different opinion and I respect other people’s. Some of the tones in this thread have got a bit out of hand.

Although I stand correct my friend who doesn’t like cheese still perplexes me 😂🤣😂

Quaagars · 15/04/2021 21:44

Haaa seen the any opposing opinion is resulting in being accused of being one of the vloggers themselves Grin
Like clockwork.
We need a bingo card lol
These threads are comedy gold

MakingPlans21 · 15/04/2021 21:47

I’m puzzled by the extreme reactions of some to a bit of chatter about mummy vloggers. It’s brought out the weirdos who want to defend them no matter what while claiming they don’t watch/care.

I’m new on here (long time lurker) and I’ve been drawn into idiotic comments/posts means to derail etc with daft was that, reading back, is beneath me as the comedy tone etc doesn’t come across. Apologies.

While the ‘Iam too good to watch mummy vloggers but I will still comment 100 times on the thread to try and push buttons’ type posters have been a nuisance, I am enjoying hearing which vloggers people like and why.
