Putthebiglighton · 09/04/2021 13:27

Ideas?

I want something really yummy, but simple and easy to make

Had nachos and choc mousse last week, easy and delicious

What should I have/are you having?

OP posts:
AppaTheSixLeggedFlyingBison · 09/04/2021 14:20

That tin of meat from the shed? 😂

RIP Paul Ritter you legend.

On a serious note burgers? Or a pasta dish with garlic bread? They always feel friday-ey to me

ChazP · 09/04/2021 14:21

Whatever you end up eating, OP, please put on an episode of Friday Night Dinner. It really is worth watching.

GreenSlide · 09/04/2021 14:24

Chicken soup, with glass in it? Just eat from the side of the bowl.

gavisconismyfriend · 09/04/2021 14:25

Cheese and biscuits is definitely a meal!

BackforGood · 09/04/2021 14:27

Lol no idea how to help with dinner but now I’m gonna go watch Friday night dinner as it sounds hilarious.

Definitely worth finding, if you've not seen it.

I would definitely go for a lovely bit or squirrel, or a lucky meat from the shed.

Cadent · 09/04/2021 14:27

Nachos is not a meal!

AtleastitsnotMonday · 09/04/2021 14:27

You could elevate the baguette and cheese with a baked Camembert or Brie with warmed baguette or sour dough for dunking.

Or some chicken breast butterflied with garlic and lemon and grilled. Served in toasted ciabatta with shredded lettuce, gherkins, tomato and mayo. Basically fancy chicken burgers

pepsicolagirl · 09/04/2021 14:28

@Cadent

Nachos is not a meal!
With respect, you are making your nachos wrong
tactum · 09/04/2021 14:28

tin of lucky beef

Bananabuddy3 · 09/04/2021 14:28

For FND newbies - stick with it, it gets better as it goes on, season one is good but it gets much better as it goes. All these lines will make sense soon!

Milkshake7489 · 09/04/2021 14:29

No idea but I fancy nachos and chocolate mousse now Grin.

jessstan2 · 09/04/2021 14:31

Marinated swan bits, leg of giraffe maybe?

Friday is no different to any other night really.

You could have a takeaway.

Cadent · 09/04/2021 14:32

With respect, you are making your nachos wrong

I’ve had nachos in Mexico, it’s still not a meal! Lovely snack though.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 09/04/2021 14:34

*@Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady

Funnily enough my salads are actually one of the most unhealthiest things I make because of all the things I add to it grin*

It's the mayo and cheese cubes that fuck me up Grin

Squidelicious · 09/04/2021 14:35

Mezze platter.
Omlette
Noodles
Backed spud in microwave with toppings
Stir Fry
Salad Nicoise

ChubbyLittleManInACampervan · 09/04/2021 14:35

I think you already hit the jackpot with nachos and choc mouse

My fave quick and bad meal is boil spaghetti in salted water, drain and add some butter and and black pepper and crumble lots of feta on the top. Cheddar works too. Eat a tomato with it to easy carby guilt Grin

Pasta+butter+cheese= perfection Smile

Baked Camembert with celery sticks and crusty bread works too as a quick cheesey meal

ShutUpAlex · 09/04/2021 14:37

@Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady

My last salad had an entire baked goats cheese on it Grin

Sunshineandflipflops · 09/04/2021 14:40

Sainsbury's curry. Not as unhealthy or expensive as a take away but still feels like a treat and easy to shove in the oven!

Peachy66 · 09/04/2021 14:44

Packet of Super Noodles - follow cooking instructions.
Once cooked, place in a dish/plate and top with roughly chopped ham, spring onions, cherry tomatoes (cut in half) sprinkle with cheese.
Put it in the microwave for approx 30 seconds or until the cheese has melted and its ready to eat.
Its a tasty dish and quick and easy. Maximum time 10 mins.

aug2ftm · 09/04/2021 14:44

Crimble crumble

Creamy prawn garlic pasta - takes 10-15 mins max. All you need is double cream, garlic, Parmesan, onion, linguine/spaghetti, prawns! Super tasty

FlyingBurrito · 09/04/2021 14:45

@Tiredmumno1

Whatever you decide on, make sure you throw it on the floor, then scoop it up and serve it. Oh and add a button for extra effect.

Shalom

And also be sure to have a lovely plaited loaf of bread on the table that you never eat

And don't whatever you do allow any kind of toilet related item in the dining room

Rose2108 · 09/04/2021 14:46

Oh how I wish you could "like" comments on here, I had such a chuckle reading through. Good old Paul Ritter, what a legend. Feel I need to re-watch the show!

In other news, we are having Linda's finest veggie burgers (cooking from frozen). We will have a corn on the cob with it, as we are obvs health gurus.

Bytheloch · 09/04/2021 14:47

@IncorrigibleTitmouse

Lovely bit of squirrel and some tomato blood! Or perhaps some fox from the freezer? (Still my favourite episode)

Terribly sad about Paul Ritter. I recommend it wholeheartedly @HOkieCOkie!

Yes, that episode 🤣

Love how we’ve all gone in here for tribute reasons. Sorry OP, but it has to be squirrel!🤣 RIP to the very talented Paul Ritter

DahliaMacNamara · 09/04/2021 14:47

First prepare your lamb. Then go out to Mario's for the most embarrassing meal of your life.
Or, since the restaurants aren't open yet, and I'm vegetarian, I'm having twice-baked potatoes and some crispy garlic mushrooms with dips.

usedandabusedx1000 · 09/04/2021 14:48

🤣 I’m so happy the first few responses were appropriate! Just sorry I wasn’t quick enough! Shit on it!
