Do your DC wear clean (matching optional) PJs every night?

I'm a little bit ott about it but for me they have to match and must be fresh every night but after another thread about laundry and a discussion with DP apparently I'm weird??

YABU ... You can wear PJs for a few nights (shudder)

YANBU ... clean, fresh, matching PJs every night!

No I only change them into new clean pjs every 3 days, they have a bath before bed and are not yet sweaty teens so I think it’s fine, but I only change bedding once a week on a Monday so I’m not exactly a perfect Mumsnet mum 😂

HerMammy · 09/04/2021 19:11

7 kids and washing 60+ pjs a week and ironing everything??
OP must never have a minute to herself, there’s wanting the best for your kids and being a martyr, all that work is unnecessary

PerspicaciousGreen · 09/04/2021 19:18

@LivingMyBestLife2020

I can’t believe you all sleep in PJs! My mum always told us you must air your bits at night. I always sleep naked as does my toddler ( his choice) but I wear PJs in the evening, change every 3rd day
I am also a big advocate of airing ones bits, but to me that means wearing loose-fitting cotton pyjamas with no underwear. I look forward to my DS being out of nappies at night so his bits can have a proper airing!
WinstonsWeirdVole · 09/04/2021 19:20

This is the most batshit post I’ve read in a while - thanks OP! Grin

redcandlelight · 09/04/2021 19:21

clean every night. however I consider them clean for a few nights. Wink

maddiemookins16mum · 09/04/2021 19:21

DD had clean every other night if they weren’t ruined with coco pops. Always matched unless there’d been an incident with a drink etc.

Palavah · 09/04/2021 19:21
@meowchickameowmeow anything worth reading to add??
So you're only interested in people agreeing with you?

BluntlySpoken · 09/04/2021 19:28

Yes. I couldn't not. Altho generally they've spilled something down them at breakfast or whatever so straight in basket.
9/10 times they're washed and back in drawer same day.
I used to iron them too but stopped once dc3 came along.
I look back now and say why?

waitingpatientlyforspring · 09/04/2021 19:28

I don't have clean ones so mu children don't! I prefer them to match but 13 yr old DS seems to love wearing any old mis matching sets! My dd recently wore the same pjs day and night for at least 4 days. I asked her to change every day but she didn't 🙄

FedNlanders · 09/04/2021 19:29

Er no. Why would you worry about this. Also, who cares if they match.

rabbitheadlights · 09/04/2021 19:41

Poor kids? Really?

OP posts:
rabbitheadlights · 09/04/2021 19:42

@palavah not at all, but I didn't invite opinion on my carbon footprint

OP posts:
rabbitheadlights · 09/04/2021 19:44

@HerMammy it's nothing to dith wanting the best for my kids or being a martyr ... It genuinely bothers me

OP posts:
rabbitheadlights · 09/04/2021 19:46

Dith .. do with

I'd honestly think really long and hard about seeking some sort of counselling. You must understand deep down that it's really not normal to be bothered by something so trivial.

1forAll74 · 09/04/2021 19:46

No, I don't wish to spend my time thinking about matching things for bedtime,or how long before things get washed.

Feetupteashot · 09/04/2021 19:51

Complete waste of time, water, energy detergent etc

My PJs only feel comfier the more nights I wear them.... Might draw the line at a fortnight

Clean pjs for us all, every night

Big ironing pile tho 🙈

Just put them in the drawer, together and matched and take them out after bathtime? Not hard?

I'm not getting into the logistics of drying it will just invite another onslaught.

It's really not about hygiene I have no problem with the kids wearing jeans etc for a few days. I just like them to go to bed clean and fresh.

But yes everything gets ironed including tea towels and underwear! (It's impossible to get unironed vests to fold neatly enough)
Yes! This!

YellowPurple · 09/04/2021 20:14

So just with pj’s alone, the next morning you have 14 items to wash?

Wow! What a waste of water and detergent

ShonkyCat · 09/04/2021 20:21

Clean PJs every night I can almost understand - although I certainly don't think it's necessary - but now people are talking about ironing all this extra washing too. Confused

user1493494961 · 09/04/2021 20:24

I think Op's being a bit 'economical with the truth' regarding her holiday luggage.

cookiecreampie · 09/04/2021 20:31

Yes, clean every night. Usually matching but doesn't matter if not.

LondonWFuck · 09/04/2021 20:34

63 pairs of pyjamas for a week away 😂😂😂😂😂
