Honestly, I think Pence was as glad as anyone that Doofus lost the election, even if it did cost him the VP. He probably figured he'd placed himself front and center in the public and party's eye as the 2024 nominee as the 'voice of reason' amidst Doofus' insanity. I think he very badly miscalculated Doofus' ego as well as the 'power of the cult' (read $$$$ donations) and assumed wrongly that Doofus would fade into obscurity.

OK, on another note, a personal one. Once again I may be erratic (both posting and mentally) for awhile. DH has been dx'd with cancer and will begin treatment in early August. The prognosis is excellent but treatment will be brutal and he's not a 'good patient' at the best of times. So if in August/September I appear irrational (or irrationally angry) that's the reason.

You know, this is the first time I've really told anyone other than immediate family and my very best BFF as DH & I tend to be private people. I think it speaks of how 'close thru the distance' we've all become over the past, what is it now, 6 years or so?

I've been where you are and your "bad patient" may surprise you. My husband wouldn't even swollow an aspirin before he was diagnosed with cancer and he was pretty stoic after the first few treatments. Not something you would wish on anyone of course, but good news about the prognosis.
