I know, @AcrossthePond55 - I mean, I live in Europe, am post-menopausal and have a daughter who has access to Women's Clinics in the UK, my gast is totally flabbered by what Texas is doing to destroy women's rights at the moment. It's horrendous and shocking and shouldn't be allowed. Good for that lovely valedictorian. Does anyone know if she got in trouble with the school for not giving the speech which had been vetted beforehand?

Such a brave young woman! I had a huge lump in my throat listening to the passion in her voice. I'm ashamed to admit that at that age I wouldn't have been brave enough to do what she did.

So far there's been no news of any consequences for her. Hopefully with all the publicity the school district will be too afraid to do anything really punitive.

I have a feeling if it hadn't gone viral the district probably would have pulled her diploma, or a the very least stripped her of her valedictorian-ship.

I watched all her speech, it was brave and inspiring. It's scary for women what is going on and she spoke out.

CNN 'flash' on my phone... Doofus Facebook ban to continue until 'at least' 7 Jan 2023 (2 years from initial ban). They will then reassess.

Timing is interesting. There had been a lot of speculation in his cult that the shut down of his 'blog' meant that FB was going to lift the ban. I guess FB wanted to put the kibosh on this rumours before things got out of hand.

Oh, and FB is also planning to announce new rules for 'world leaders' that will supposedly get rids of the 'carte blanche' politicians have enjoyed in the past.

And this announcement has happened just after he announces he is still going to be POTUS in August this year.
