I do my friend favours all the time, yet when I need a favour she is Mia.
I will pick her things up from supermarket and drop them off at her house.
She lives 5 mins walk away from mine so it's no trouble really, but she never thinks about saying il come and collect them.

It's her cousins birthday and a few weeks ago I mentioned I had a unused soap and glory gift set that I didn't want.
She asked if she could have it and I said of course.
I said pop round anytime you want.
She was meant to come yesterday (she didn't )
Then she said "will you be passing mine tomorrow, can you drop that set in?"
I said no I wouldn't be I didn't think as I was busy today.
I've just been food shopping and because I'm without a car at the min I have to get the train to the supermarket and obviously carry the heavy bags back.

She's just text "can you drop that set around please today"
I replied "hi I've just got home, manic today,I won't be near your house today, feel free to collect when you can"

She replied "how lazy,it's literally 5 mins round the corner,I'm not even dressed yet"

I'm flabbergasted
Aibu am I ?

I would be telling her very clearly to fuck off. I'd even spell it out for her. What an arsehole. Wash your hands of this user.

AWamBamBoom · 07/04/2021 14:16

@FourTeaFallOut

Tell her to get fucked, cheeky cow.
Straight to the point Grin Carefully unwrap the soap or something and plant a few hairs and/or slip a note in it saying 'happy Christmas, hope 2018 brings you much joy' then carefully seal it back up She'll either come round or get someone to collect it , people like her won't give up on a freebee
BlackberrySky · 07/04/2021 14:17

Threads like these make me realise how incredibly self-centred some people are. How can she possibly not have noticed that SHE is asking YOU for the freebie?! It beggars belief.

Shinyletsbebadguys · 07/04/2021 14:19

Why on earth would you accept someone speaking to you like this? Seriously I would reply that I didn't appreciate that text and forget the whole thing. She would then be put firmly on block and be done with it.

Blimey DP would be told where to go for that level of entitlement it beggers belief !

bloodyhell19 · 07/04/2021 14:23

YABU to even consider continuing this "friendship", you're not her friend you're her errand girl. I'd tell her "Yes, you are fucking lazy & entitled into the bargain!" Then firmly block. She's a waster.

Emeraldshamrock · 07/04/2021 14:25

You're very polite. I'd give her a sharp snarling reply with swear words.
I can't believe she didn't collect you with your shopping. She's mistaken kindness for weakness friendships work both ways.

1forAll74 · 07/04/2021 14:38

You should charge her a delivery fee, when you keep having to get things for her. That might stop her lazyness.

raincamepouringdown · 07/04/2021 14:39

Ask her if she's referring to her own lazy self.

CF.

Not much of a friendship, is it?

Oneeyeopen · 07/04/2021 14:43

I would text.
So tired from doing my shopping I've used the soap and glory products in a relaxing bath.
You'll have to get dressed and get yourself to Tesco.

Chloemol · 07/04/2021 14:46

I would text back

Actually it’s you that’s lazy, and the set is no longer available

FenceSplinters · 07/04/2021 14:48

Reply back ‘yes you are lazy’.

DowntonCrabby · 07/04/2021 14:54

Goodness she’s not very bright is she?

I’m glad you’re sticking up for yourself OP, I really want to know how the next few interactions go between you, please update us!

Skysblue · 07/04/2021 14:57

Wow.

If she’s a real friend, can’t you just be honest with her? Like “Hey, somehow it’s become a thing that I drop stuff off to you quite often - and as it’s me doing your shopping / giving you stuff etc, it makes more sense for you to collect from me, no? Can’t face going out again when knackered and not in the mood to be called lazy when I’m doing favours tbh.”

Doesn’t sound like she’s a real friend though. Can’t think of any friend I ever had who’d have called me lazy, even as a joke. It’s just rude.

Lalliella · 07/04/2021 15:13

Text her “You’re the one who’s lazy” then tell us her reply. We need to know what happened next! Can’t believe she’s getting a freebie off you to give as a gift anyway, that’s really tacky.

CroutonsAvatar · 07/04/2021 15:18

Oh my god. That would be the end of this friendship for me. Tell her she’s hypocritical and ungrateful. You’re the one doing her a favour not the other way round.

She sounds like a nasty cow.

CroutonsAvatar · 07/04/2021 15:19

Also, what @Lalliella what a tightwad!

Anydreamwilldo12 · 07/04/2021 15:55

She's no friend. Stop doing anything for her from now on. Cheeky cow!

hotncolds · 07/04/2021 18:18

I said to her pretty much that @Skysblue
And her response was

"Are you really saying this,I ask for one favour off a friend because I'm not feeling well and this is what I get in return ..wow thanks"

@hotncolds

I said to her pretty much that *@Skysblue* And her response was

"Are you really saying this,I ask for one favour off a friend because I'm not feeling well and this is what I get in return ..wow thanks"

I'd message back, 'One favour? I've picked up your shopping and delivered it to you like some kind of mug countless times. I offered you something because you're too tight to buy your cousin a present and you expect Muggins to deliver it, too? I'm done being your donkey. You're a user, not a friend. Goobye.' Then block her.
SummerHouse · 07/04/2021 18:22

Jesus.

That's the end of that "friendship."

Tal45 · 07/04/2021 18:27

That is one hard work friend. I'd just not reply, it wasn't as if she was asking you to get her medicine as a favour, she just wanted a free present. She obviously doesn't want it very much if she can't even be bothered to get off her ass and get it. So I'd say you've given it to someone else - who could be bothered to come round.

AnneLovesGilbert · 07/04/2021 20:46

She sounds about 14. Is she?

You both know it’s not one favour so she’s now insulting your intelligence as well as taking the absolute piss out of your good will.

Honestly, bin her off. You deserve better.

Noshowlomo · 07/04/2021 20:50

Ooooooof that’s one entitled biatch you got there.... ask yourself does she bring anything to your life and if no, simply block. Minimal effort required, even for a lazy person Grin

Croprotationinthe14thcentury · 07/04/2021 20:59

I would just reply yes

Twistered · 07/04/2021 21:23

Frigging hell!
I can't get over her reply! What a drama queen.

My reply would be ..... Complete radio silence. And I mean nothing. Not one reply back to her no matter what she says. Unless it's an actual real apology
