Why do ppl do this? Why thank for a journey that u have paid for? And the driver hopefully drove safely but that's their jobs. So why say thanks? I don't get it

Always have done, always will. I always say please and thanks for everything always. Even when my husband of 16 years asks me if I want a cup of tea. Just saying YES on its own seems rude. It's nice to big up someone's day with a pleasantry.

@CongealedCrags

You always say 'Cheers Drive' as you leave the bus. It's The Rule.
Only if you live in Bristol. Then it is absolutely the law.
