To find this Easter vaguely depressing?

Not a big fan of Easter anyway since I'm not religious but I feel like the whole fact of it just seems a bit depressing - could be because at Christmas I'd expected things would be somehow much more normal by now. Also seems too early. Anyone else?

@Maldives2006 I'm really sorry you're still suffering from the ill effects of Covid but please tell me why I shouldn't get together with my vaccinated friends and have a drink? Whst harm are we doing exactly?

Well my london walk was absolutely freezing not helped by river winds. Winter coat and hat ! Now heat is on full and considering a hot water bottle !

Glorious cloudless blue sky and sunshine up here today in Perthshire! Bit chilly, but lovely walking weather. The daffodils, primroses and forsythia are glowing deep yellow in the sun - it’s beautiful. Really lifts my spirits after my year of solitary confinement with long Covid. And DD is arriving this afternoon, yay!

I’ve just turned the heating on. It’s a beautiful sunny day but the crowds everywhere are so stressful I’m staying at home.

I usually much prefer Easter to Christmas (partly because Christmas is a bit relentless and seems to start in mid November). We aren’t having anyone coming for Easter this year so I do feel a bit flat.

@Woodpecker22

there really is no reason why you can’t go on a train.

My son also has ASD and has had his own struggles with lockdown,

I don’t drive so there have been times in the last year when we have had to use the trains. Its been fine, they arent crowded, no one is standing at the ticket barrier interogating you about your journey

Most of our journeys have been essential but yesterday we did travel from the midlands to Liverpool to see family that we havent seen for a very long time. Its was fine, not busy at all.
Take him on the train.

No harm at all! Enjoy Gin cheers!

I've actually felt better as the day has gone on — the sun is out properly now, my washing is fluttering happily in the breeze, and I can see blue tits flying in and out of the nesting box. Easter Smile

I think I might be experiencing a bit of a delayed emotional reaction to the pandemic. I just coped all year because I had to (homeschooling, several older relatives in need of support, demanding job). Now it's nearly over (we hope), I just feel very sad, wobbly and in need of some TLC myself. It's odd.

HeronLanyon · 04/04/2021 21:34

snowdrop. Me too. Kind of just now realising quite how awful it’s been. Little time or headspace before. Support.

Snowdrop30 · 04/04/2021 22:01

@HeronLanyon ah thanks - back at you! I think a lot of us just got our heads down and cracked on. Interesting to hear you have Big Feels too...

Itsalonghaul · 05/04/2021 11:27

snowdrop I feel the same. Drained, tired and feeling like I need someone to take over for a bit. I need a holiday, and then I can restart life. Propping everyone up has depleted all reserves.
