£500 one off payment tax credits.

Apologies for not posting in the right area but thought it may reach a lot of people!

Dp got a text today to say that one off payments of £500 are being paid by 23rd April. I didn’t think we would be eligible. Is it just a generic text sent to everyone or just those entitled? I thought it was only for those on working tax credits, we only get child tax credits I believe.

To clarify. Dp works and has worked all the way through the pandemic and earns around £30,000 a year. I am currently a stay at home mum to out two children who both have additional needs. The bulk of our child tax credits are based on my children receiving disability living allowance rather than dp’s earnings. We do get some based on his earnings though.

I am really clueless 😂 I thought tax credits were eventually being changed over to universal credit too. We still get ‘tax credits’ and not universal credit.

Advice for a confused mum.

We own our own home and don’t get any other benefits apart from the DLA my children get and the tax credits (obviously child benefit too). £500 would be very appreciated!

Thank you! I really hope so. My husbands work messed his wage up last month as we had Covid so he had to isolate and we've had 2 of our children's birthdays in the last week, we we just about managed, it's my other child's birthday this week so I am praying for a miracle!

Literally just randomly checked my bank and it's in there. I could cry right now I got my miracle!

Just got mine - Santander account.My CTC is paid in on a Monday.

We get CTC but not WTC due to income. Never received a text or a letter, it just appeared.

Mine has appeared too! Nationwide.

I usually get my tax credits on a Wednesday- and I had no text to confirm. Very happy!

Just got mine, I dont get wtc and I dont get any money from ctc as they keep it all to repay an overpayment. That's DS2's Yr6 residential and DS1's residential football tournament paid for without having to use the credit card, the rest will go off the credit card bill.

Mine went in this morning, I get working tax credits and child tax credits

I received mine today I get child tax credits ,I got no email or text.it was a lovely surprise and can pay my huge vets bills

I didn’t get anything 😔 I’m with nationwide and usually get payments on a Tuesday. Gutted 😞
