Lost the stone I needed to lose instead of it now being more that double that 😳

Started running so I could now run 10k instead of still struggling on couch 2 5k.

JustJustWhy · 30/03/2021 20:57

Nothing. I loved every single moment of it. I'll never have a time like that in my life again.

shinynewapple21 · 30/03/2021 20:59

@Vladi10 Thanks I really feel for you , and anyone else in a similar position . You did what you thought was best at the time .

shinynewapple21 · 30/03/2021 21:31

@leannetta what is your book on WeightLoss please ?

leannetta · 30/03/2021 21:42

@shinynewapple21 oh goodness, I’d love to tell you but I'm not sure I’m allowed? If I were I’d tell you it was “How to lose weight and still eat everything you want” by Julia Knight. If that's against the rules - genuinely sorry and I'm sure it'll get removed 😬

MyMushroomsInATimeSlip · 30/03/2021 21:46

Not read the full post but nothing. It's been tough but we've survived it somehow and that's enough.

Yourcatisnotsorry · 30/03/2021 21:49

Exercised more. Bought a hot tub. Gone on holiday last august.

LolaNova · 30/03/2021 21:50

Cut my hair short months and months ago instead of waiting until I couldn’t cope with shit hair any longer and took the clippers to it. I bloody love my buzz cut. No idea why I didn’t do it sooner rather than telling myself I’d go to the hairdressers as soon as I could.

Pineappleheart · 30/03/2021 21:57

@FizzyPink

Not treated the first lockdown like some kind of holiday by buying half of Amazon and drinking every night.

I’d have less weight to lose now and would have saved more money

Me too 😕

Thanks. I'll take a look Smile

Edda09 · 30/03/2021 22:01

How long did you think it would last??

katienana · 30/03/2021 22:01

Eaten less doritos and dips with the daily bbq we seemed to do!
Stressed less about school work

That's it really, the first one I think we handled OK. We bought a dog and a caravan. They're going to get us through 2021

Todaytomorrowyesterday · 30/03/2021 22:55

1st lockdown not put in as many work hours expected of us. While pushing and failing my children with my attempt of homeschooling with the pointless worksheets. ( I don’t blame teachers I blame this on the lack of clarity from the government)

Positives The moment I decided to quit homeschooling and just let it be in May. Was the best decision for my daughter and my sanity.
Stopped looking at Facebook getting upset with people being able to bake banana cake, go to seaside and spend wonderful moments with their children- once I quit looking I just did my best for my children without feeling like I wasn’t measuring up to other’s expectations.
2nd lockdown homeschooling was a breeze with zoom classes providing structure in the morning meant I could balance work.

I’ve learnt to just give myself a break :)

Mamanyt · 30/03/2021 23:41

I did know...or, at least, I saw it coming very, VERY early on. And, having several underlying health issues that put me at high risk, I stocked my larder to the point that I could, if absolutely necessary, live without ever leaving my own yard for a full year. I also ordered a couple of extra, inexpensive streaming services to ensure that I'd never run out of something decent to watch on television. And I ordered DVDs of yoga and tai chi, both beginner's and intermediate, for older people. What I WISH I had done differently is USING THOSE DVDs FAR SOONER! Now, I'm playing catch-up!

Lavanderrose · 31/03/2021 01:41

Brought a office chair and desk because one year working from my sofa and I look like quasimodo and my back aches.

Stripyhoglets1 · 31/03/2021 01:45

Bought the hot tub at the start of lockdown so I didn't have to wait until September for them to be back in stock.
Started going for longer walks sooner as they really do help my mental health.

TwinMama6 · 31/03/2021 07:33

@StopGo

I wish I'd realised the NHS would close down to anyone without Covid. I'd have fought harder and maybe, just maybe I wouldn't now be a widow and single parent. I'm just one of thousands.
I’m so sorry for your loss StopGo.
UsernameFail · 31/03/2021 08:04

Like you @Todaytomorrowyesterday I came off Instagram and FB in Lockdown 1.0
All those people living the dream....

Sadly I returned to scrolling in Lockdown 3.0 but those same people are no longer living their best livesWink

UsernameFail · 31/03/2021 08:07

@StopGo I am sorry for your loss

leannetta · 31/03/2021 09:48

@StopGo Just because you're one of thousands doesn't mean it matters less. My heart aches for you. I hope you find a way through this terrible time Flowers

Angelica789 · 31/03/2021 10:03

I wish I’d taken up yoga, decorated my kitchen and spent far less time on my phone looking at crap.

yogi1 · 31/03/2021 10:04

Same as some above. Bought too many boxes of alcohol off Amazon. Too many takeaways, now very overweight and unfit. But more importantly should have moved from Oxford back to North Wales.

SciFiScream · 31/03/2021 10:24

I'm sorry for your loss @StopGo

I'm extremely fortunate I WFH anyway, DC are old enough that they didn't need constant supervision. They needed constant prodding to work though.
DH was able to work from home. We've both been busier than ever but it was because we were supporting charity appeals to get money to people that needed it so that feels good.
We haven't saved any money but we haven't lost any money either.
I count my blessings every day.

So I wouldn't do anything differently though when talking to DH he said we should have taken out a loan to get an office pod. We've all been working at the dining table - though have proper chairs and monitor set ups. Our commute is now setting up the PCs in the morning and packing them away in the evening in time for dinner!

pinkstripeycat · 31/03/2021 11:52

Worked longer hours (self employed)and not taken a week off in October half term to spend with my kids so that I actually had money to live off as I’ve not been entitled to any government help despite paying my taxes all my working life. Bitter - definitely
