To order takeaway two nights in a row?!

Terrible decision maker here... AIBU if I order takeaway from a local pub tonight? We had an Indian last night... I'm a single parent to three kids, this last week I've had two hospital appointments, worked every day, done all the childcare around that, and have a physical disability, with one DC with ALN. Oh and I have a fractured wrist. I'm exhausted. It's going to cost about £45... money isn't really an issue but I feel guilty as. I've packed on the weight over this last lockdown. So AIBU or would you go for it?

Partnered up family relation with one child... not that life is any easier for anyone even in that circumstance sometimes!

Just doing the same!

Jumpers268 · 27/03/2021 17:50

Do it!!! And enjoy it!!! Literally no reason to justify it.

Amdone123 · 27/03/2021 17:51

Enjoy....and you are not lazy.

OhWhyNot · 27/03/2021 17:51

Agree just enjoy

Life sounds full on for you

YoBeaches · 27/03/2021 17:51

Totally do it. You don't need the hassle and take the weight of your feet, one less job to do.

Enjoy sounds delish!

AlCalavicci · 27/03/2021 17:52

Pah they can look after two of your DCs and see what its like

shoves another fork full of spicy chips in gob

HollowTalk · 27/03/2021 17:54

If that person had a broken bone you can bet your life they wouldn't be cooking.

Perhaps just be careful what you tell to family, if they're so judgemental (and unhelpful.)

InTheNightWeWillWish · 27/03/2021 17:55

It’s helping the local economy. Every takeaway you buy from a place is helping to cover overheads that currently aren’t being met. It could stop them going under.

That’s my excuse because we order so much takeaway at the moment. Cooking just has no joy anymore. It just adds to the monotony of life. I probably wouldn’t go for a meal that needs a plate though because... Urgh washing up!

StrapOnSallyChasedMeDownTheAli · 27/03/2021 17:56

Probably food envy, OP. It can make people cranky and judgmental Grin

whenthebellsring · 27/03/2021 17:58

I don't think you need a reason or excuse to order takeaway if you can afford it. You're going to eat something anyway. Just do what you can manage and if takeaway - two nights in a row - helps to take some load off, why not? If you order two nights in a row just because you want to, it's still okay. I do both sometimes, especially the latter and no guilt here. People will judge no matter what you do.

Londonmummy66 · 27/03/2021 18:00

We will had one last night and will have another tonight.

StopGuacAndRoll · 27/03/2021 18:00

Some weeks are just like this and the number of take aways we have in a row is disgusting.
I could give advice of having a tortellini or frozen pizza already ready in the freezer but I don’t listen to that advice myself 🤷🏻‍♀️

WarmKitty · 27/03/2021 18:02

My boss is Italian and often says the problem with the English is we feel guilty about indulging ourselves and we shouldn't.

In fact, I'm sure Bill Bryson writes the same when enjoying a near perfect view from a balcony in Italy.

Do it. Do it and don't feel guilty about it.

GreenLeafTurnip · 27/03/2021 18:07

You're helping the economy it's fine 😉

Lovesacake · 27/03/2021 18:07

I don’t think you should because it makes me so jealous to know about it 😂 I really wish I was having a double takeaway weekend!

Pippin2028 · 27/03/2021 18:08

Go for it! Things are hard enough, if it brings you joy this evening do it, enjoy it, monday is a new week!

Flowers24 · 27/03/2021 18:09

Enjoy, you deserve it!

wingsnthat · 27/03/2021 18:10

Yeah definitely do it

You’re allowed to eat

You don’t have to order anything unhealthy or a massive portion if you’re worried about nutrition or weight gain

IEat · 27/03/2021 18:10

It’s your life your money

JesusIsAnyNameFree · 27/03/2021 18:10

If money isn't an issue, why on earth shouldn't you? Give yourself a break!

PolarnOPirate · 27/03/2021 18:13

Haha nope, we are doing this too! If you can afford it, go for it. Feeding people is such an effort and you’ll be supporting a local business Wink

We had a healthy takeaway last night and kebabs tonight - wraps, salad, grilled meat. Not too bad if you ignore the mountain of cheesy chips Wink

PinkSkyBlue · 27/03/2021 18:13

I have Wink
