I'll start:

High waisted trousers with crop tops
Lip liner that goes over the top of cupid's bow

For category a), see Naked Attraction, The Sex Clinic etc, (I accidentally caught 10 minutes of the Sex Clinic, and in that time was treated to a bunch of strangers sitting around chatting about their STDs and sex issues, followed by a close up of a big sore on some bloke's nob. Fucking grim)

Gross! I think that would have put me off my dinner. Although I could do with losing some weight, maybe I should watch it just before meal times.

@DK123
Nah, I get you. I've always found it annoying when something I like and/or wear because it suits me becomes really fashionable! And everyone wearing the same thing is bloody boring anyway. Still, everyone wearing warm toned 'neutrals' (since when were those colours considered neutrals?) has sent me down the path of cool toned colours, so at least I'm mixing things up a bit. Smile

Being overweight is surely healthier than being underweight though. People can be ten or even fifteen stone overweight and still alive. But most underweight people can only get to about two or three stones under the lowest recommended BMI weight before they become seriously ill and die. If I were as much underweight as I am overweight people would be horrified and worried. In my current state of fatness, I am completely unremarkable.

What's wrong with crushed velvet or grey or mirrored furniture? Why all the sneering? Why would it bother anyone what people have in their houses?

And fwiw I doubt the big bum/ eyelashes brigade give a fuck what middle-aged women on mumsnet think of them.

Televisions on a chimney breast.
Glittery paint ( especially on chimney breast).
False panelling in modern homes.

Interesting!

Old cottage, weird layout, beams mean placing furniture etc is difficult. Huge fireplace, literally the best place for tv to be mounted on a wall.

Am I still guilty? 🤣

furries yes I’d advise you to plead guilty (and get credit) but I’d argue plead guilty to lesser alternative offence. Additionally you may have powerful mitigation (subject to evidence). I’d argue for a community sentence possibly with an attached work requirement of 50 hours. I think there may be community work in your area de-graying fellow mnetters’ houses.

I know I’m getting old because I’ve already lived through one shoulder pad era 😭

I could have played for an American football team! May have had to go sideways through some narrow doors. Grin

I agree. Drinking is already pretty unfashionable, so that will soon be a thing of the past for many of us.

Panelling.

This god awful brushed up brow trend. It started as fluffy and natural now women are walking around with vertical brow hairs glued to their foreheads

Yeah it's so odd. When it first started it was pretty. Now it's gone a bit crazy. Worse that the Anastasia BH ombré dip brow craze

Well, depends where you buy really. Perhaps some Prosecco haters just aren't discerning enough.

Refusing to establish reasonable sleep routines with children and then wondering why a 2,3,4,5,6 year old will not go to bed without an 8 hour bedtime routine including co sleeping and the gentle sounds of live butterfly wings, fluttering them off to sleep.

Meanwhile parents are torturing themselves, telling everyone they meet about their sleep deprivation, all in order to prevent previous child shedding a few tears in their warm, inviting, toy filled bedroom.

Haha yes I agree

This is so true, and bad for me. Im making a massive effort to cut right back on drinking but now we're going to be able to socialise again, I've had two people texting saying they can't wait to come round and drink in my garden....

What is wrong with Walnut Whips ? I love them and they are increasingly hard to find as there are now just Whips on sale ( no walnut!) I also like a nice Prosecco and I have been to Malta ,well Gozo, recently. I must be totally out of style!

Open plan house layouts
Kitchen islands
En-suite bathrooms, especially where there’s not really enough space

I think there’s some truth to the alcohol claims. In the same way smoking is now associated mainly with older people I think binge drinking and drinking to excess will go the same way over the next few decades. So longer than a five year trajectory though!

@apurplecar - absolutely. Yes of course it is. (I'm working on it.) But I find it odd that being anorexically thin is revered in our society when it is far more likely to kill you, ruin your chance of fertility, weaken your bones etc than being overweight.
