I'll start:

High waisted trousers with crop tops
Lip liner that goes over the top of cupid's bow

The 'Karen trend'. Something else will have replaced it.

pictish · 27/03/2021 08:15

Oh...neck tattoos. They saw an upsurge in the past few years didn’t they? A great big obvious but poorly executed tattoo right there on the throat forever. Mostly sported by stupid young men it must be said, in an attempt to seem edgy I suppose. Would be ok if they were good tattoos but they never are...always a blurry mess by a local scratcher. On their neck. Always.

I like tattoos...but only good ones. Most are shite.

jessstan2 · 27/03/2021 08:17

I can't bear tattoos of any form.
Also hate the 'Karen' trend but we can stop that going any further; it's mainly an American thing anyway and stupid with it.

NerrSnerr · 27/03/2021 08:18

Oh I hope straight cut hair stays - it’s the only hairstyle that works with my stupid, thick hair

Just continue to get your hair cut like that then. You don't have to have the same hair cut as everyone else.

NerrSnerr · 27/03/2021 08:21

I don't understand why people worry so much about how others decorate their houses. I don't care whether grey is in fashion now, in 5 years or any time. I wouldn't choose to decorate my house in that colour so I don't and if other people like it then good for them.

Same for things like cropped tops, eyebrows etc on this thread. I wouldn't wear a cropped top or have massive slug eyebrows but good for them if they want to I wore cropped tops with really thin eyebrows in the day and I looked amazing.

Twintub · 27/03/2021 08:25

Hope folk stop saying ‘feeling blessed’ totally grinds my gears

MaryIsA · 27/03/2021 08:27

Tattoos.... sleeves, neck tattoos...they aren’t going to age well...

Norwaydidnthappen · 27/03/2021 08:29

I have big eyebrows and a big arse but both are natural.

I hope the Mrs Hinch phase is gone in 5 years. Definitely feel like it’s set women back about 50 years.

Literallynoidea · 27/03/2021 08:29

I hope the current victim culture will be over.

Can't bear another 'poor me' from anyone, let alone multi millionaires who abandon their families.

pictish · 27/03/2021 08:32

Sleeve tattoos as well...so ubiquitous now they no longer have any impact beyond observing current trends.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 27/03/2021 08:36

Ah yes, tattoos - the route to individuality being taken by absolutely everybody.

pictish · 27/03/2021 08:41

Re: tattoos. I blame Robbie Williams. If he does it, it’s over. Whatever it is.

ChaToilLeam · 27/03/2021 08:45

Giant inflated trout pouts
“Karen”
Giant hideous trainers
Athleisure in general. We’ll be sick of sweatpants by the end of lockdown.
Glittery shit

pictish · 27/03/2021 08:48

Re: tattoos. See also David Beckham.

Exactly this.

I am very interested to know what the "correct" way to decorate your house is, because I have never once seen a discussion on Mumsnet about a particular colour/style without someone announcing how "naff" or "dated" it is.

SecretSpAD · 27/03/2021 08:59

God some of these posts are deeply depressing and judgemental.
In five years time I'll still be sitting on my overweight arse, on my crushed velvet sofa in a pair of skinny jeans drinking artisan gin and prosecco and fuck everyone who judges me WinkGrin

Baboutheocelot · 27/03/2021 09:02

Instagramers who take a photo of themselves in the mirror leaning to one side with one leg straight and the other leg poking forward. Instagram is packed full of people who can’t seem to stand up straight.

NerrSnerr · 27/03/2021 09:03

I think many people on Mumsnet are so desperate to come across as Sophia I

NerrSnerr · 27/03/2021 09:05

Pressed send too soon. no one wants to be Sophie (I don't think).

People are desperate to come across as sophisticated and better than everyone else. I'd love to see the people who sneer about grey houses, what other people wear and things in real life, see how amazingly on trend they are.

JustSleepAlready · 27/03/2021 09:07

Shutting down schools because of a difference of opinion. I hope this is embarrassing 5 years from now. Live and let live. So sick of this cancel culture. That’s embarrassing. I hope it’s a ‘phase’ that is long gone in 5 years time.

Parker231 · 27/03/2021 09:07

I’ll never be giving up my Prosecco and gin! Have already planned post lockdown nights out which include both drinks!

JustSleepAlready · 27/03/2021 09:12

I’m a bit upset that so many turn their nose up at tattoos. Of course they’re individual! Most tattoos nowadays are custom designed. And I’m sure a lot of people have reasons they get particular tattoos. Of course there’s always those who have big standard stencil butterfly or whatever but who cares? People dye their hair, their eyebrows, eyelashes. Fake tan, spray tan. Body pierce, body modify. Plastic surgery, trout pout, lip nose cheek and chin fillers. Botox. Any mix of these things is as individual as the person they are on/in. People are such snobs!!

BigPaperBag · 27/03/2021 09:29

Signs such as:

‘Live, Laugh, Love’
‘Don’t wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain’
‘This too shall pass’

Plastered all over walls and on shit bits of wood from B&M. I’m getting the rage thinking about them now. So unbelievably naff and I judge people in a very unfavourably way who have this crap in their house.

NerrSnerr · 27/03/2021 09:33

@BigPaperBag we have a small 'Live Laugh Love' hanging thing in our kitchen. It was a wedding present. I mainly keep it up as I know so many people hate them so much it makes me laugh (so I just need to live and love).
