Mine are :-

Kellogg’s Rise and Shine, a very strange powdered juice drink that we had on special occasions’ instead of actual juice.

Vesta ready meals, particularly the Chow Mein which had crispy noodles on top.

Toast Toppers - weird sludge resembling baby food.

Thank you @Wecouldbesohappybaby, Funny Feet! Sickly horrible things 😅

Bluetrews25 · 26/03/2021 14:52

Tomato flavour crisps. Not tomato ketchup, just tomato, would leave a lot of red powder on your fingers and lips.

LetterFromLorah · 26/03/2021 14:53

"Football Special" - a soft drink which was a speciality in Donegal (I think) with a foamy head. Haven't seen it since 1990ish!

Pyramints
Secret Bars
Ricicles
Fruit Chaps
Dairy Milk chocolate milk cartons
54321 biscuits

LetterFromLorah · 26/03/2021 14:54

Spaghetti hoop things in Halloween shapes!

I see the Haunted House and Fiendish Feet and raise you Black Hole lollies (blackberry? outside and ice cream inside) and LollyGobbleChoc Bombs which were an amazing treat, with a small bar of chocolate inside the ice cream, plus my mum found it mortifying to ask for something with such a stupid name...

ShutUpaYourFace · 26/03/2021 15:00

Hedgehog flavour crisps and banana and sugar sandwiches. I also used to steel oxo cubes from the cupboard and eat them raw. Yum

Whammyyammy · 26/03/2021 15:04

Quattro and Top deck fizzy canned drinks.

Texan bars....

DannyOD · 26/03/2021 15:05

Remember Bones, Fangs and Claws crisps?!

Late 60s , I think, I had a packet of baked bean flavoured crisps. I wasn't to say they were by Golden Wonder. I loved them but they weren't around for long.
Burtons potato puffs
Happy Faces ice cream lollies
Goblin tinned burgers
Instant mash
Tinned vegetable salad ( make my own Russian salad now)
Ice Breaker chocolate bars
Mint Cracknel
Boxes of mini Neapolitan chocolates

FatCatThinCat · 26/03/2021 15:11

There was a banana dessert that I loved in the 80s. It was like a hot instant whip. It came in 2 parts, the bit you mixed with boiling water to make the banana stuff and a crumbly biscuity bit that you sprinkled on top. Does anyone remember it?

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 26/03/2021 15:13

@MrsTulipTattsyrup

Haunted House ice lollies. They were, I suppose, milk based because they were white, and had a transfer of a scary thing on them in black - skeleton, witch etc. They must have been around for a few years in the mid-70s.
OMG yes! I remember those too!
Sooverthemill · 26/03/2021 15:24

@Meowchickameowmeow

Oxtail soup out of the vending machine after swimming lessons, hotter than lava and ridiculously salty. Delicious!
Oh god yes!
Itreallytiedtheroomtogether · 26/03/2021 15:26

Bovril crisps from the machine after swimming - licking my fingers to get all the flavour off the packet BlushGrin

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 26/03/2021 15:26

Blancmange in the shape of a rabbit at birthday parties! Don't see that anymore 😁😋

Itreallytiedtheroomtogether · 26/03/2021 15:28

And those little raspberry ripple frozen mousse pots - it was a proper treat when we got one of those for pudding!

HazeyJaneII · 26/03/2021 15:30

My mum used to leave and my sister and I enough money to buy tea, and every time we bought...
1 German Sausage to split
1 tin of vegetable salad to split
1 Lovely each (a chocolate dessert with a little flower of cream on top...which used to be advertised by Wendy Craig)
We'd wash it all down with a glass of Quorn

Heaven.

sueelleker · 26/03/2021 15:30

@HarkAVagrant

Bacon burgers, as in a burger made out of bacon, not a burger with bacon on top. We used to have them all the time, you don't seem to be able to get them any more. The salt and nitrate content was probably through the roof. Also I am sure beef sausages used to be more of a thing. I can remember it being a discussion whenever we got sausages "Shall we have pork or beef? Gran prefers beef but we like pork.."
We like pork and beef (mixture) sausages, but they're very hard to find these days.
Jemenfouscompletement · 26/03/2021 15:31

Ski yoghurt orange flavor
Walls vanilla ice cream in a cardboard wrapping, you had to cut it with a knife. It was a treat when the grandparents came to lunch

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 26/03/2021 15:34

Five Alive
Sunny Delight
Kiora (no idea how to spell it!)
Funny feet ice creams I think they were called

sueelleker · 26/03/2021 15:43

@DGRossetti

Multicoloured sugar. Granules. Not strands. All in the same bag.

No idea why DM bought it, but it looked good for visitors.

Coffee sugar? It used to leave rainbow coloured bubbles on top of the liquid. @Meowchickameowmeow; I used to like the chicken noodle soup-like salty water! @SetPhasersTaeMalkie; the boxes of soup were Chef, I used them a lot in casseroles in the mid 70's when I was first married.
cinnabarmoth · 26/03/2021 15:54

Piglet crisps - bacon flavour potato snacks shaped like little pigs

Rat's Blood fizzy drink - this was in Derbyshire in the late 70s or very early 80s, might have been a local product. Not 100% certain it was fizzy, it came in bottles and IIRC tasted like Vimto

DGRossetti · 26/03/2021 15:56

Coffee sugar? It used to leave rainbow coloured bubbles on top of the liquid.

It may well have been - would explain why DM bought it.

Not longer available which is a shame.

How can a thread like this get to 146 without anyone remembering Calypso s - which were tetrahedral cartons of drink that were sold frozen. Forerunner of "Calippos" but much more intriguing.

Donteatpurplebroccoli · 26/03/2021 16:15

I always remember these little square sweeties they were chewy with crispy shells there was a fruit flavoured pack and a mint flavoured pack - the mint were amazing! I have no idea what they were called, my mom swears they never existed and no one else I’ve ever asked remembers them - would have been late 80’s I think! Any ideas ??

bluebluezoo · 26/03/2021 16:18

Tootiefrooties?

UseOfWeapons · 26/03/2021 16:23

@AuntieDolly

I remember Kunzle Showboats! My mum would send me to the shop with 2/- (10p) for a loaf and I could get one with the change. I'm so old 🙁
Thank you both for this, I’ve been wracking my brains trying to remember what these were called!💐
