I now hear the "our tune" theme on classic fm. And yes I'm transported back to my youth!

AuntyMabelandPippin · 25/03/2021 21:40

Ken is radio gold. He's got that dry sense of humour that just tickles me.

I only listen to him, Johnnie Walker on Sundays, and Pick of the Pops if they're decent years.

I used to listen to Radio 2 all day, every day. I couldn't be paid to listen to it now.

maddiemookins16mum · 25/03/2021 21:42

Zoe has got worse. Utter drivel and all ME ME ME.

Parsley1234 · 25/03/2021 21:43

Oh yes I forgot Johnnie Walker I love him but what the hell were they doing getting Tiggy along for what ? Thank god she’s gone. Elaine Page I do like I hate her laugh but I like her because she’s talented and loves theatre. Rylan on a Saturday is ok but a bit effusive over Rusty and Vanessa comes over as insincere

@YellowandGreenToBeSeen

BBC Radio London - Vanessa Feltz, Robert Elms, Jo Wood, Eddie Nestor - all day every day. Erudite and entertaining presenters, interesting subjects discussed, great mix of guests, phone ins and music and Funky Friday!

Saturdays are Radio 2 all day but especially Rylan and then Liza Tarbuck (she is brilliant).

I like you Grin

I dip out to Ken at 10.30 for Popmaster* and then back to Radio London until 8pm.

*I made it to Champions League but I don't like to boast Grin

@TroysMammy

I can't listen to female dj's. They get on my tits with their inane chatter and gushing.

It's not Paul Gambacini's fault that Pick of the Pops has changed. It's the fact that he has to play much more recent charts.

I don't mind modern charts, but Gambaccini has sucked the fun out of Pick of the Pops. He's too serious for the format.

spaceghetto · 25/03/2021 22:02

I'm not sure if it was just a regional thing but did anyone used to listen to late night love? I used to love sneaking a radio into my bedroom as a teenager and listening to it under my duvet. I learnt a lot from that show!

spaceghetto · 25/03/2021 22:02

I love the Jeremy Vine show!

Authenticchicken · 25/03/2021 22:06

Yes @spaceghetto! Graham Torrington Smile

TroysMammy · 25/03/2021 22:11

@ReceptacleForTheRespectable - meaning?

TheDogsMother · 25/03/2021 22:18

Steve Wright's serious jockin 🙄. It's still not funny and it drives me mad when he sings over the music. Zoe is too try hard but a world better than Chris Evens and his banging on. I love Sarah Cox and Rylan's show is great especially his dance music. Trevor Nelson and Craig Charles are good too. We have the radio on for 12 hours + per day and can't really be bothered to keep switching stations.

I've moved to radio Scotland first thing. Zoe Ball is awful

Delighted to hear about Simon Mayo. Sara cox plays good music but I swear that wowowowowow and fucking foghorn, along with her barely coherent delivery and use of babytalk are driving me to either drink or serious damage

augustusglupe · 25/03/2021 22:31

Totally agree!! The only saving grace being Ken Bruce. They could sack everyone for me and just get Ken to do 24/7 from his house. Maybe with the odd bit of Gary Davies and Craig Charles if Ken was off.

Swingoutsistersledge2 · 25/03/2021 22:41

Love Rylan on Saturdays . I love Sunday afternoons making lunch with Johnny Walker and my favourite is Paul O'Grady never miss it full of laughs with his side kick Malcom. Sara Cox is also good and has kept me upbeat through this lock down .

Twixmas · 25/03/2021 22:50

Liza Tabuck is the best and most under rated presenter out there in my opinion. Rylan is excellent too. I love the section with his mum its like listening in on a family call. Steve Wright has been a bloody ray of sunshine over the last year. Can take or leave r2 during week but weekends are really strong.

felineflutter · 25/03/2021 22:59

Sue Perkins should get a prime spot. I would listen to her.

UnderHisAye · 25/03/2021 22:59

Nothing beats Get It On with Bryan Burnett on Radio Scotland. It's a different theme every night and there's always a good mix of familiar songs and stuff you've never heard before.

unforgotten23 · 25/03/2021 23:07

I love:
Ken
Trevor
Lisa
Micheal
Steve (only Sunday love songs)
Vanessa (too early for me though)
I hate:
Zoe
Claudia (haven't actually listened - but I know I would hate it)
Steve
Can tolerate on occasion until I get wound up:
Jeremy

TSSDNCOP · 25/03/2021 23:08

The sound of Zoe drawing breath across her bottom teeth raises my blood pressure. You can't unhear it once you start. It's odd, as I liked her Saturday show and ITT. Love Popmaster. Am trying to find Virgin for Chris and Graham.

gnushoes · 25/03/2021 23:09

Jo Whiley is great. Sara Cox Ok. Steve Wright just dire. Radio 6 is marvellous, mostly.

TopTabby · 25/03/2021 23:22

Fact. He just doesn't get it, skips over anything remotely interesting or unusual to get to "a future US number1" that is probably played a lot on the radio anyway.
It's got nothing to do with more recent music
He's got a US show on Greatest Hits on Saturdays as well but I avoid that!
