Between once a week and once a fortnight. I have six of them which I alternate depending on weather (different lengths and thickness). I wear them a lot and often get food on them when I'm cooking so they get dirty quickly.

1sunnyday23 · 24/03/2021 21:33

Once a year ... maybe ?

I have a lovely thick dressing gown, but I never wear it. Can't fit it in my wardrobe, so hang behind my door. About once a year I realise how horrible and dusty it is so wash it.

Cant bear to get rid of it as my dh bought it for me from monsoon when I found out I was pregnant with my first. We didn't have much money so it was a big treat item, and everytime I wear it I remember how spoilt I felt

Iwantacookie · 24/03/2021 21:33

When I remember and know I can get it dry. I have another one but it's not thick with a hood like my regular one. Am wearing it right now am warm and cosy but there is a slight sticky patch that has been present longer than ide care to admit.Blush

SquigglePigs · 24/03/2021 21:38

Pre child probably once every couple of months - I generally only wear it for an hour or so after I get up until I get dressed over my pyjamas. Since child it's whenever she spills milk /breakfast on me, sticky fingers etc so once a week on a good week, every other day on a bad week!!

TwoZeroTwoZero · 24/03/2021 21:39

I think I washed it a few months ago. I rarely wear it though but have put it on this week because covid made my skin feel incredibly sensitive and my soft, fluffy dressing gown was the only thing I could stand against it.

CommanderBurnham · 24/03/2021 21:47

You've just reminded me!

CloudFormations · 24/03/2021 21:50

At the moment every couple of days because I have an incredibly sicky baby. Usually every few weeks.

Chunkymenrock · 24/03/2021 21:52

Maybe once every couple of months.

ImAlrightThanx · 24/03/2021 21:55

Maybe once every 3-4 months, if that.
I don't care if anyone thinks I'm grim.
My winter coat is washed around the same frequency.

Pinchoftums · 24/03/2021 21:57

About 3 times a year!

PferdeMerde · 24/03/2021 21:58

Every hour on the hour for me

wrings hands

idontlikealdi · 24/03/2021 22:00

Erm I don't think I've ever washed mine.

Scarby9 · 24/03/2021 22:03

Twice a year in normal times?
I only ever wear it to cross the landing to the shower room (literally two steps) if I have guests staying, which is rarely.
I haven't worn it since October 2019...

youmakemydreamscometrue · 24/03/2021 22:06

Weekly at the same time as the bedding

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 24/03/2021 22:11

I haven’t got one.

When I did have one... not very often.

Every three or four months usually. Sometimes five if I think it doesn't smell too revolting.Grin not sure if that is considered unhygienic
BornOnTwelthNight · 24/03/2021 22:19

Once a week/fortnight, I have 3, but don’t really wear the third one as it’s not as cosy.
Favourite one I wear most often and 2nd one when favourite is in the wash. Wear each one twice a day for a few hours at a time and love it when they fluffy and fresh after a wash.

FinallyHere · 25/03/2021 10:13

Anyone else not wear a dressing gown?

It's never been something that works for me. After a shower, I towel dry myself then put on clothes. If I wear a dressing gown instead, it gets damp, I never get dry.

What is the point?

At the spa we wear robes but at home? We do keep the house quite warm so maybe if the house were cooler it would be different

FoonySpucker · 25/03/2021 11:11

But you would still dry yourself with a towel. Why would your dressing gown get wet when your clothes don't?

Do you know what a dressing gown is?

JackieweaverhasALLtheauthority · 25/03/2021 13:21

Those of you who don't wear one, what do you put on when you first get up, to go downstairs and put the kettle on?

In summer I wrap a cotton wrap round me, like a sarong (and wear nothing else)

In winter pyjamas and a loose hoodie.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 25/03/2021 13:32

I don't own one - I really don't find them comfortable at all.

My pajamas.
LondonWFuck · 25/03/2021 14:52

Practically never.

seadreams · 25/03/2021 15:48

Only if it’s visibly dirty. But I only ever wear it over fleecy pyjamas so there’s quite a thick layer between it and me
