so new one-what about your dressing gown?

speakout · 24/03/2021 19:07

Once a month, or even less.
I wear it for a total of 10 minutes a day, I don't wear it while I am wet, just for nipping downstairs to make a coffee or to walk between the bathroom and my bedroom.

I'll see your dressing gown and raise you scarves and gloves Grin

Whatsthatohno · 24/03/2021 19:09

Once a week, more if I've spilt dinner down it or toddler has wiped yogurt on it. I will also wash it if it smells like food as I cannot stand that.

Watercoloursky · 24/03/2021 19:10

Never, unless I spill something on it! I only ever wear it over my PJs, it doesn't touch my skin, so in my mind it would be like washing my coat! (I have a different towelling robe that I wear when I get out the shower, and that gets washed when I wash towels (once a week).

EmmaGrundyForPM · 24/03/2021 19:12

Surely a dressing gown is a bit like an indoor coat? I wear mine over Pjs so it's not next to my skin.

I probably wash it once every couple of months.

Mum497 · 24/03/2021 19:12

@UndeadSlut

Oh God, hardly ever really. When it gets noticeably dirty, toothpaste on it or whatever. Less than once a month, and I do wear it every evening when it's cold for a good few hours. I'm gross and I didn't even realise!
So glad I'm not the only one Blush think I will start washing it more regularly after reading this thread though!
Squirrelblanket · 24/03/2021 19:13

Amazed by how many of you wear dressing gowns! I haven't had one since I was a child.

MMM2 · 24/03/2021 19:14

3/4 times a year ish !

Purplecatshopaholic · 24/03/2021 19:14

Whenever I get toothpaste down it… (err, and notice that I have…)

MrsTophamHat · 24/03/2021 19:15

Hardly ever! I tend to put it in to make up a small washing load but other than that Confused

Oblomov21 · 24/03/2021 19:15

I live in my dressing gown. Hence my username! I only wash it about once a month. It's not dirty or smelly.

DareIask · 24/03/2021 19:16

When the front smells of wine. Blush

greatauntfanny · 24/03/2021 19:26

Once every few months and I wear it all day every day but I’m fucking disgusting so probably not the best person to ask

expectopelargonium · 24/03/2021 19:30

I very rarely wear it, so probably about once a year.

sanfranfibber · 24/03/2021 19:34

People washing them once a week - how are you getting it so dirty?

LemonRoses · 24/03/2021 19:35

Never. It’s dry clean only.

redcandlelight · 24/03/2021 19:35

once a month or so?
however I only wear it over pjs.

Aprilx · 24/03/2021 19:37

I haven’t owned a dressing gown for probably twenty years.

Queenoftheashes · 24/03/2021 19:38

I'm fairly sure I bought mine in around 2018 and have never washed it. The previous one I probably had ten years or more and washed it 3 or 4 times if I got food on it.

Princessbanana · 24/03/2021 19:40

Once per week, but I own 3 so usually is probably more than once a week. My pjs get washed every second day, but have loads of them.🙂

truetuesdays · 24/03/2021 19:43

Once it's got more than 5 types of dinner down it Blush

Suzi888 · 24/03/2021 19:49

Once a week, only wear it after a bath/shower though. Sometimes I go straight to bed and don’t put it on at all.

Titterofwit · 24/03/2021 19:51

I rarely wear my dressing gown so I cant remember when I last washed it.
Actually the last time I washed it was only because DH wore it to have his morning smoke in and it had to be thrown into the wash immediately.
I think that was around Christmas Shock

MissFlite · 24/03/2021 19:52

Not very often. I wear it over PJs for about 30 mins a day and don't have small children so doesn't get that grubby.
Once the cuffs get a bit crunchy with toast crumbs then it's time for a wash Grin

Lolwhat · 24/03/2021 19:58

Once a week
