I have never washed my dressing down, I’m afraid it’ll lose its fluffiness. I only wear it on really cold evenings and never eat in it because I’m afraid of spilling and having to wash it.

Hardly everBlush. I only really wear it to walk to and from the bathroom, though.

I've never washed the fucker since I bought it.

Oh I love dressing gowns! I have 6 (two are summer ones) and they are worn in rotation (and also go on top of the bed when I sleep as a blanket with arms 😂). I wash whichever one I'm wearing once a week.

I'm also a huge fan of wearing a clean bath towel as a 'dress' and lounging in that while I wait for my moisturiser to absorb of a night.

I’ve only ever washed mine once. I bought it when I had to go into hospital about 5 years ago. I washed it when I came home and I don’t think I’ve worn it since. It just hangs happily on the back of my bedroom door. I’m only keeping it in case I ever need to go into hospital again!

Only wash DS's if it's visibly dirty. It's worn occasionally, over pyjamas, inside only, so hardly gets dirty.

When I realise it smells... definitely nowhere near once a week or fortnight!

Fairly regularly, as I often wear it with no knickers Blush

I think I've washed it a couple of times in four years. It's a small men's so it's the long sleeves that have got dirty.

I always take the piss out of my DMs dressing gown. It always seems to have some egg yolk on it, amongst other things. She's perfectly aware / capable, btw. Just not that fussed!

When I see toothpaste dribbles on it, but that is quite often. I have three dressing gowns: a thick warm one for winter, a light cotton waffle one for summer and a mid-range one for autumn and spring. They're all light coloured so it's noticeable if they get soiled.

Inevitably I leave a tissue in the pocket, which ends up strewn gaily throughout the wash. Then I get to pick it all out of the tumble drier, yay.

Oh I’m soooo embarrassed. I got two new ones for Christmas so alternate between the two and neither have been in the machine yet! 🙈

Depends how often I've worn it to the shops

I only wear it about twice a year so wash it once a decade.

I don’t wear one now but I had one as a preteen that had to be forcibly removed for a wash when it started to smell Blush i think it was the equivalent of a comfort blanket, it was so soft when it was well worn and wasn’t the same after a wash. My poor mother probably though she was past the stage of having to prise comfort objects out of her kids hands after the toddler years but sadly not!

Once a week with my bedding. Love that Sunday night fresh for the week smell just after I've had a shower.

Whenever I get ketchup on it. So a lot.

@Snozzlemaid

Anyone else not wear a dressing gown?
I have one but never wear it though. I get too hot in them, so if I do ever put it on it's not long before I have to take it off.

Me! I have two but can't remember the last time I wore either of them - for the same reason as you.

I haven't worn a dressing gown since I was a child. I hadn't realised they were still a thing! Maybe I need one??

Every six months? Barely wear it.

Once a week. I usually spill my porridge on it 😀

Report
LindaEllen · 24/03/2021 21:23

Literally only if I spill something on it 😂. I only put it on when I'm clean after a shower so.. 🤷🏻‍♀️

ReceptacleForTheRespectable · 24/03/2021 21:24

Almost never. But then I hardly ever wear it! I would only ever go around the house in a dressing gown if I was properly ill, which isn't a frequent thing.
