The boat is free!!
Me and dh walked 2 wolves a few years ago. Amazing. We have a Husky. Closest likely to get!!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/03/2021 18:28

Umm, you do know that the water is still going under/round it don;t you?

In that case, how is it stuck?

(I am a simple wumman, with simple thought processes . . . )

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 29/03/2021 20:13

Where did you get to walk wolves, please, @Easterbunnygettingready?

Easterbunnygettingready · 29/03/2021 21:18

bow and stern rammed into the bank. Part of the bottom is stuck, but it won't be sealing the canal, there will be some water getting through.

Omg @Easterbunnygettingready SOOOOOO JEALOUS!!! They are divine!!!

Gremlinsateit · 30/03/2021 06:19

I see we have moved on to tigers, wolefs and how the oceans flow from the top to the bottom of the map, but just to mention I am now taking DD riding next week in honour of the lovely thread :)

Thank you - it is good to have a reminder of our roots. Grin

This thread has made me eye up an empty horse field round the corner, plan a track grazing system and suggest to DH we could get some horses and sheep. Wonder if I could add wolves and tigers in too. 🤔

CaveMum · 30/03/2021 09:25

This thread has had me browsing the Horse & Hound ads and wistfully picking out which horsies I'm going to buy Grin

BlueEyesWhiteDragon · 30/03/2021 10:04

I keep eyeing up Saarloos wolfdogs which is the closest I reckon I could get without actual wolves.

There is a breeder who I follow and every time they have pups I have to battle with myself not to get one. We already have 7 dogs so really another is madness especially one which I understand to be relatively high in time demands but once these GSDs have aged and the DSs are a bit less time demanding (not because they young but because we rural and I spend all my time driving them places!) I'm having one of these ..

I wonder if there's a pony flap in the back door?

We have tentatively talked about moving at some point in the next few years and I keep putting houses with stables in front of DH in the hope that he’ll love the house and not notice the paddock attached Grin

ApplesPearsAndCrumble · 30/03/2021 12:07

We have a land alert on rightmove. I have been in contact with the agents about 5 acres that came up complete with stables and a menage but apparently the seller has gone all silent. I got very excited indeed.

[back to brand new plan of breeding wolflets]

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 30/03/2021 13:35

We lost one of our dogs, early last year (she developed untreatable anaemia which made her very ill, and had to be put down), and in recent months, dh has started saying that he's ready for another dog. Maybe he would like a wolflet!

Justilou1 · 30/03/2021 14:04

I met some Saarloos Wolfdog breeders when I lived in the Netherlands. Like a lot of animal breeders, delightfully batshit. The dogs were stunning, but would never have been allowed to come back to Australia with us, hence Ivy the Shiloh Shepherd couch wolf. I think in hindsight, they aren’t really family dogs, either. Achingly beautiful though. That cub is divine!

blobby10 · 30/03/2021 14:09

I luffs you people!! you talk about horses and dogs !! The two loves of my life that are no longer in it Sad. I miss horses more than the dogs but those wolflets 🥰🥰

*waiting list, not writing list, though I suppose I could have one as a pen pal . . .

ApplesPearsAndCrumble · 30/03/2021 14:43

have just pinged RA agent again about 5 acres [with room for a pony]

Then it is Wolflets -A-Go.

[In my dreams .....sigh. Dream of my life is to have a croft in the outer hebrides. Wolves would do well there. yes?]

Yes, but I don't think the other crofters would be too happy at them helping themselves to the all-you-can-eat lamb buffet in the neighbouring fields!

When we wanted to move house years ago we were looking at ordinary houses. Then we got offered a horse, and we started looking at houses with a bit of land.
We found a perfect house, with a field attached but during the buying process the gift horse passed away. Still loved the house, moved in, then got another horse :) But if we'd not been offered the gift horse we'd never have thought to look at this house. Fate's a funny thing.
