We hardly ever eat together
DD8 eats early. DH and I eat later and DS16 when he comes home
I don't worry about that stuff. People are doing their thing it's not always possible

Thanks, probably beating myself up about it too much. We do have a plan to all get together Sunday for home made pizza, watch this space!

I'd better add my husband has been very unwell for a year and I am having to care for him too, he's struggling physically and mentally so I'm very stressed atm

My son cooks for himself and tends to eat whenever. I cook for me and my daughter and we eat watching a box set.
Not eating together doesn't mean we don't talk. I drive my son to college and his job most of the time and that's 20 minutes each way of talking several days a week - before that it was the hours spent ferrying him to various rugby matches.
My daughter has a debrief about her day before we turn on the TV.
Both also know they can talk to me whenever.
I pay for my kids phone - his job pays for going out, hair cuts and clothes (he goes to college his job is part time).
I drink on weekends (not now as it's Lent), and sometimes during the week.
I do not sit in my car and cry - what's that about??

I had a bad moment where i felt guilty but feeling less panicky now about not eating together every day, we have many other opportunities to chat, doesnt have to be at the dinner table does it.

The crying is due to other issues but hoping they will resolve,
