We call a snib/sneck the 'snip' - Scouser here. We've got a lot of Irish influence in our dialect, as well as some Danish/Norwegian things. So, when English people come on and say they've never heard of such-and-such, it isn't universal! Just ask Merseysiders, Geordies and Cumbrians.
