To be disappointed my lockdown mornings have been ruined?

So before anybody gets on there free speech high horse or takes this indepth with the whole Meghan Markle debaucle this is not what this is about so please refrain yourselves. I merely am soooo devestated that Piers will no longer be on the go in the mornings to entertain me with his carry-ons. It was the only reason I watched GMB. I am now tuned into boring Breakfast tv. I will never watch GMB again. It really took me away from the monotony of this lockdown and gave me a bit of excitement in my life. AIBU? Probaby but we all need something to keep us going!! I cant be the only one surely?? Free Piers Morgan!!!

Why not read, exercise or meditate instead?

Or just stare at a blank wall. That would still be more inspiring than listening to that cockwomble.

I don’t care about the MM debacle that much (although he sounds waaaaay over invested). But the times I have heard him ranting away it makes me vom in my mouth.

He is beyond the pale spitting out all this righteous vitriol when we all know what he really is and what he is capable of. Morally bankrupt.

Also if Megs hadn’t have kicked him out of her celeb circle I can guarantee he’d be on the other side.

Silenceisgolden20 · 10/03/2021 15:14

@Letitgo123

The majority of you are all quick to point out how he was a bully yet you may want to check your own behaviour???
Why are you on mumsnet? To show you love Piers Morgan, is that the point of your thread? Very goady
Babygotblueyes · 10/03/2021 15:37

Not that I watched regularly but every now and then I would hear something and find myself agreeing with him, which I would never have expected. Then I saw how bullying he is in general so no, I am very happy he is out of there.

sunnydaleslayer · 10/03/2021 15:42

I get what you're saying OP.

I disagree with most of what he says but I did find him more entertaining than the usual boring dross of morning TV.

You don't have to like a person to be entertained by them.

Key example: a lot of the people who watched the H&M interview don't like them. Still attracted millions of viewers though.

HarrietPierce · 10/03/2021 16:18

Can't stand his opinions on many things but he was one of the few who held Government ministers to account.

Crystalclair · 10/03/2021 16:57

@Macduff please read @Tianariers post. That's who I was replying to re: bullying. In which she suggested I enjoyed watching bullies or may have been one.

And as explained, yes I find Piers entertainment at times. I also watch murder mysteries and physiological thrillers. I'm neither a bully or psycho 🙄

Piers stands up for what he thinks is right. He has a right to do that, as are any of us. Like I said, I dont always agree with him, but freedom of speech is imperative.

Crystalclair · 10/03/2021 17:05

@macduff and also, as you asked.. I find him amusing yes. Does he go to far sometimes? Yes. Do I agree with everything work that comes out of his mouth? No. Do I agree with bullying? No.

Hope that clears things up.

Btw, I'm not a fan of MM. She's always given off the vibe that she is controlling. However, I'm acutely aware that this may not be the case and that the media may be portraying her in a bad light intentionally, therefore I am (usually) silent with my perception of her. There are two sides to every story, so why should I automatically believe hers as opposed to the RF? I'd never run her down to anyone else, or be insensitive towards someone who says they have felt suicidal. But my personal feeling is that she is no saint.

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 10/03/2021 17:54

I think there was a window of a few months where I found myself agreeing with him in regards to Covid. I didn’t agree with the way he shouted at ministers, however, he was the only journalist even attempting to hold them to account. The majority of the media opted to cover for the government, constantly claiming that now was not the right time (when is then?)

However, I think he can’t see reason with H and particularly M and had gone into psycho territory. If an ordinary man was acting like that against a woman, the police would be involved and there would be credible worries for her safety. His obsession with her is scary almost ‘if I can’t have her no one can’.

RootyT00t · 10/03/2021 18:23

@Poorlykitten

Because he was controversial and pulling in the viewing figures? That’s not necessarily being liked though and doesn’t mean he’s a decent human being because he’s not. Vile man.
No, be was liked.
poppycat10 · 10/03/2021 18:34

@ZaraW

If Piers Morgan brings excitement to your life then you are beyond help. There's nothing worse than angry, middle aged, right wing males.
Nope but occasionally they are right.

This is all like Emperors' New Clothes

Meghan and Harry both need to grow up.

(though I do agree having to curtsy to the Queen in private would have surprised me too)

The thing that really got me was the argument about who made who cry at the bridesmaid dress fitting with Kate and Meghan blaming each other. Two women in their thirties who can't be civil to each other for an hour or two? Really? In their respective positions? Utterly pathetic and PM was right that this sort of thing is damaging to the Royal Family.

3CCC · 10/03/2021 18:47

I sort of agree op our lockdown morning entertainment was to watch Piers Morgan have a go at a poor unsuspecting MP

The other presenters are just a bit meh somehow

en0la · 10/03/2021 19:00

Have you considered seeing a psychiatrist?

Rhubarbcrumblerules · 10/03/2021 19:00

I found it entertaining, but cant stand simpering Susanna sitting on the fence all the time.

hippychick11 · 10/03/2021 19:06

I only watched the show for the first time yesterday and even if he hadn't been sacked, I would never have watched it again. He came across as such a bully and just awful in general

Washimal · 10/03/2021 19:10

Piers stands up for what he thinks is right.

Ha! Yes, the honourable Piers Morgan. Standing up for racism, misogyny and the God given rights of tabloid journalists to hack the phones of murdered children and still go on to amass vast fortunes, status and a platform on prime time TV to air their personal vendetta's against others. So brave.

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 10/03/2021 19:20

It’s true that the fact he hacked the phone of a dead child and went on to have a lucrative career where he was permitted to spout opinions on the morality or criminality of others is a disgrace.

Milly Dowlers friends and family must feel sick every time they see him. I cannot imagine being in their shoes. He should’ve been in front of a judge and sued to bankruptcy not given the opportunity to make millions on tv and stalk his crush.

Crystalclair · 10/03/2021 19:23

@Washimal people make up their own opinions all the time. Just like you and I will not change each other's minds, or influence each other, PM will not influence people way of thinking, hence he is a voice for some people, and others not so.

Just because he does not believe MM does not make him racist.

PurplePrimula · 10/03/2021 20:20

You feel free to miss your enjoyment in watching a egotistical bastard treat pretty much everyone else like a piece of shit.

I personally hope I never see him again.

I doubt I will get my wish though because there are enough people like you to keep the arrogant bastard on TV. He is harder to get rid of than a nasty case of athletes foot.

RootyT00t · 10/03/2021 20:22

He didn't.

He just knew about it.

It does validate others having inappropriate opinions on someone else's mental health though. See Twitter

And that's vile, really

I hope he's never given a TV voice again

Zerrin13 · 10/03/2021 20:31

I will never forget how he described Kanye West as one of the most ridiculously talented people in the world!

ZaraW · 11/03/2021 05:35

**I hope he's never given a TV voice again

I can see him on Fox News

gingganggooleywotsit · 11/03/2021 11:12

@RootyT00t, oh so that makes it absolutely fine then does it? Piss off.

Devlesko · 11/03/2021 11:29

Find a hobby OP, tv is shit anyway, rarely anything on worth watching.
