To be disappointed my lockdown mornings have been ruined?

So before anybody gets on there free speech high horse or takes this indepth with the whole Meghan Markle debaucle this is not what this is about so please refrain yourselves. I merely am soooo devestated that Piers will no longer be on the go in the mornings to entertain me with his carry-ons. It was the only reason I watched GMB. I am now tuned into boring Breakfast tv. I will never watch GMB again. It really took me away from the monotony of this lockdown and gave me a bit of excitement in my life. AIBU? Probaby but we all need something to keep us going!! I cant be the only one surely?? Free Piers Morgan!!!

Do point out any bullying on this thread, OP, I am sure MN will delete as appropriate.

On the other hand does this not replace your lost excitement?

What is your view on Piers’ habit of calling those claiming to be bullied ‘snowflakes’?

(I know we are all falling for your OP, by the way, just trying to help you pass the lockdown hours Wink )

Letitgo123 · 10/03/2021 08:59

Haha no not the bekind just merely practice what you preach

I have never seen Piers morgan in anything on the telly. I had to google to hear some of the stuff he has come out with. How has he got away with being this hateful towards one person for this long?

I am ashamed to be British right now. There's some deeply horrible behaviour that has a blind eye turned.

Moneypenny007 · 10/03/2021 09:03

He just yelled at people for 3hrs. Poor Co host had to talk this morning and it was almost comical.

SallyCinnamon3009 · 10/03/2021 09:06

@Goingferalonfurlough

I liked him too. He was really good over the whole pandemic asking the questions that needed asking and not letting the MPs wriggle out of answering.
This is how I feel. Never watched GMB until this time last year. I actually felt during the pandemic he talked a lot of sense and really held politicians to account.

However, he was so over the top on Monday and it was embarrassing to watch. He behaved like Meghan had walked in his house and shat on the dog.

turquoisewaters · 10/03/2021 09:12

His behaviour lately has been OTT.

But he has been another victim of organised attacks by keyboard warriors on Twitter with a very one-sided ideology unfortunately.

Not given time for the Ofcom investigation to reach a conclusion or to explain specific mistakes.

Maybe everyone should be clamouring on Twitter and letting Ofcom know that free speech is increasingly at risk

MarieFromStTropez · 10/03/2021 09:14

Did anyone else think Ranvir was gloating ever so slightly when she talked about people being happy he’d gone? Suzannah looked decidedly uncomfortable at times.

Tianatiers · 10/03/2021 09:18

The fact you enjoy watching someone bully and shout at people he doesn't agree with is very sad. People who find this kind of thing entertaining need to have a long hard look at themselves.

Letitgo123 · 10/03/2021 09:18

I only started watching in lockdown as well. Never had time to watch tv before. Didnt always agree with everything as believe it or not I do have a mind of my own however I do appreciate the way he he never backed down.

I'm not disappointed in the least. I stopped watching it a couple of years ago simply because I cannot abide someone asking a question then refusing to let that person answer it. It's pointless.

I've seen so many comments saying that he 'says it how it is', 'he says what we're all thinking', 'he's a hard-hitting journalist' and is just such utter nonsense. A very high percentage of people view those who 'say it as it is' as utter wankers who think their opinion matters more than anyone else.

Listening to one man drone on and watching Susannah Reid simpering away beside him was not what I wanted to see while getting ready for work in the morning. He has a God complex and it's tiresome.

CyberdyneSystems · 10/03/2021 09:21

Piers Morgan is an arrogant twat who loves the sound of his own voice and loves to voice his own opinions

He doesn't like to let other's talk and he certainly doesn't like to listen to other's opinions. It's okay for everybody to listen to his though

He's had a tantrum and thrown his toys out the pram and walked off in a strop

Good riddance

Reallybadidea · 10/03/2021 09:21

It doesn't speak well of us as a society that watching this man's ranting is seen as a valid source of entertainment.

YoyoRiot · 10/03/2021 09:22

Hello Piers! Grin

MacDuffsMuff · 10/03/2021 09:23

Don't you think @Letigo123, that sometimes we should back down when we're wrong? He didn't always get it right, did he? I'm not talking about the Meghan and Harry nonsense, I mean many other things. Sometimes we really should consider saying 'You know what, I didn't get that quite right and could have handled it better, I'm sorry'. That shows real strength of character, not blindly thinking that you couldn't possibly ever be a bit out of order.
NotSeenBulling · 10/03/2021 09:28

Was he the replacement for Jeremy Kyle or something?

TheJerkStore · 10/03/2021 09:29

however I do appreciate the way he he never backed down.

That's not a quality to be admired

Thefaceofboe · 10/03/2021 09:38

I really liked piers and his honestly, but he took it too far this time.

ExConstance · 10/03/2021 09:40

I don't find his views that obnoxious, and he was spot on with most of his Covid coverage but the fact that he would never let anyone else get a word in edgeways, simply blocked them, was totally unacceptable. I remember a young man from the Vegan Society getting totally trashed and not being allowed to speak, I found that very upsetting to watch and totally unnecessary. I will reserve judgement on the issues in the M&H matters as i'm sure that over a few years a different story will unfold.

wildthingsinthenight · 10/03/2021 09:42

YABVU
He is vile. Hatefilled and nasty

DianaT1969 · 10/03/2021 09:42

I'm shocked that anyone would say this. Read the Daily Hate instead. He has a ranting column on there too.
Are you by chance a bullying, Trump-loving misogynist? Or did you just enjoy watching one be rude to his colleagues and guests?

AllisoninWunderland · 10/03/2021 09:42

I agree, not backing down isn’t always a GOOD thing.

He just seems hell-bent on shouting down ‘wokeness’ to me. And that could only come from a white middle-class male. (Well unless you count Katy Hopkins).

I’m all for free speech but not when it’s filled with pure hate and nastiness.

In my humble opinion people like him take everything other people say as a dig and can’t extrapolate that other people have different lived experiences to him.

Dreadful man.

wildthingsinthenight · 10/03/2021 09:42

And yes Hi Piers..
Or his wife or son

hamstersarse · 10/03/2021 09:45

Try Julia Hartley-Brewer on Talk Radio - on YouTube live too

That's always lively!

StroppyPoppy21 · 10/03/2021 09:47

@SenecaTrewe

Anyone named "Piers" is going to be a monumental twat, let's face it.
Ahhh now you've just shown yourself up. Loathsome though PM is, he didn't chose his name (or did he?). One of DS's best friends is a lovely teenaged Piers.
WishingHopingThinkingPraying · 10/03/2021 09:49

People like Piers should not be given a platform. He breeds nastiness into society. YABU for falling for the drama of it!!
