To be disappointed my lockdown mornings have been ruined?

So before anybody gets on there free speech high horse or takes this indepth with the whole Meghan Markle debaucle this is not what this is about so please refrain yourselves. I merely am soooo devestated that Piers will no longer be on the go in the mornings to entertain me with his carry-ons. It was the only reason I watched GMB. I am now tuned into boring Breakfast tv. I will never watch GMB again. It really took me away from the monotony of this lockdown and gave me a bit of excitement in my life. AIBU? Probaby but we all need something to keep us going!! I cant be the only one surely?? Free Piers Morgan!!!

I can only assume you are joking to use words like devastated .

Brokenchair1 · 10/03/2021 08:22

Agree OP. Another one who thinks he's a bit of a knob akin to the Jeremy Clarkson school of man. Never used to watch GMB until lockdown. Then it became a strange fascination and it's part of my morning routine. And as pp said, he did keep people on his toes and I really appreciated the diversity of guests and presenters.

I really like Alex but he has zero chemistry with Charlotte. There is no banter. The only other pair I can bear to watch on there is Ben Shepherd and Kate Garroway. They have a lovely relationship. Otherwise afraid they've lost me.

MyLittleOrangutan · 10/03/2021 08:23

He's vile. I don't understand how anyone could enjoy watching him kick off and bully people.

butterpuffed · 10/03/2021 08:25

@PrelovedWithValue

Nah, op isn't Piers.

Op is clearly Mrs Morgan, devastated that he'll be home with her in the mornings instead of at a safe distance...

No doubt she'll tell him that safe distancing has been extended to married couples.
KaptainKaveman · 10/03/2021 08:28

It's unbelievable that the OP thinks PM, who publicly rubbished MM's description of feeling suicidal, is 'entertaining'.

JeanClaudeVanDammit · 10/03/2021 08:32

I can’t be bothered with so much drama in the morning before work. I’ve only got about 5 minutes to watch TV while getting ready and I’m not about to spend that watching something so aggressive.

However, I’ve noticed a lot of people who were cheerleading him when he was berating “covidiots” etc have switched back to thinking he’s the devil again now that his tirades no longer accord with their views...

WaltzesWithSnobs · 10/03/2021 08:34

Could you set your phone /computer to read the onscreen text aloud? I know this is a feature some people who are visually impaired use. If so, simply load up the Daily Mail and let your device read it out to you. Voilà!

Eeek, is there even a Mrs Morgan? ^^
doubleshotespresso · 10/03/2021 08:35

@CantBeAssed

I will miss him to...he was dam good at his job.....one of the very few people left that isnt afraid to open his mouth and voice his opinion....freedom of speech is only acceptable when we say what some people want to hear!
Tell that to the Lancashire Guards...
Somethingkindaoooo · 10/03/2021 08:36

Piers went way, way too far with Meghan Markle...like- way. He deserves to be fired.

But ( prior to that) I did like that he was speaking up for free speech.
Yes, even though he didnt let anyone get a word in.

Doggitydog · 10/03/2021 08:40

He hasn’t gone forever OP, he’ll be back, he’s just having a break.

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 10/03/2021 08:41

PM was the only exciting thing in your life? Poor thing. Flowers

Emeraldshamrock · 10/03/2021 08:47

He asked the right questions a lot of the time, his approach and lack of manners is nasty he is a bully.

Sarahandco · 10/03/2021 08:47

I am sure you already know that you need to get out more

Letitgo123 · 10/03/2021 08:48

No not 'lighthearted' actually! Genuinely only watched because of Piers! I didnt know who he was before either! And just because I am on parents forum doesn't necessarily mean I am a woman.

If he was such a savvy political interrogator, why did he waste time baiting women.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 10/03/2021 08:51

Yesterday’s programme also featured humiliating another presenter, Charlotte Hawkins. I am sure you can get your morning fun finding some other examples of nasty bullying, OP. Though sadly for you Jeremy Kyle us now off air and bait baiting was long ago banned. Once European travel is allowed again you could try Spain for the spectacle of bullfighting?

Mrsjayy · 10/03/2021 08:51

Oh my sister said the same thing earlier I was so disappointed in her sis is that you ? As I said he is a shouty moron but if that's your thing then Confused

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 10/03/2021 08:52

This reminds me of the people who were freaking out when Jeremy Clarkson was fired from Top Gear for punching that man. They were being super weird and making threats against the victim. The Daily Mail comments section went into meltdown.

There are some deeply deeply strange people in this country. They are like mythical creatures who thrive on feeding off negativity.

FrankieFalcone · 10/03/2021 08:52

DS (14) enjoyed watching Pier’s rant on occasion.

At times I enjoyed the entertainment but often I’d turn over if he wouldn’t let the guests get a word in, I found that frustrating. I did think he raised some good points during the beginning of the pandemic.

The whole MM situation has been exhausting though. I wouldn’t like to make an enemy out of him, how he’s turned on her has been awful, never letting up! I had a little look into how they met etc and his early articles were so gushing about her!

He just seems to have tunnel vision and his is the only view he’ll listen to.

I’m like you though OP. I’d often tune in just to watch his rants, but I’d often switch over too. Will be interesting to see who’ll accept him into the fold.

Letitgo123 · 10/03/2021 08:53

The majority of you are all quick to point out how he was a bully yet you may want to check your own behaviour???

OP posts:
RainingBatsAndFrogs · 10/03/2021 08:54

Are you not a woman then, OP?

But enjoyed Piers picking on women, calling sexually abused women ‘snowflakes’, fat shaming women, making Charlotte Hawkins show her legs, developing an unhinged obsession against Meghan...

Do tell us more about your wider tastes, OP.

SenecaTrewe · 10/03/2021 08:55

Anyone named "Piers" is going to be a monumental twat, let's face it.

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 10/03/2021 08:57

Ahhh the OP goes in for the #Bekind defence.

VintageStitchers · 10/03/2021 08:58

Who can be arsed to watch TV in the morning/daytime?

I don’t watch breakfast tv but he’s always been a hateful man, so I’m surprised he wasn’t chucked sooner. He can be as vile as he likes as long as viewers tune in. That’s what I find so disgusting. It’s all about the bloody ratings.
