I am glad, I think this was the right decision and I didn't agree with his comments.

Mental health is a huge issue and I think he took it too far.

@HmmmmmmInteresting

ITV are contemptible. They have a mental health campaign and are all '#BeKind' after one of their presenters, Caroline Flack, commited suicide after abuse by trolls, yet they give this c**t a platform to harass and stalk Meghan Markle day after day for three years.

Crossed post Blush Totally agree with you though Grin

StoneofDestiny · 09/03/2021 19:28

Man of the moment - storms dispersing snowflakes, leading to brighter weather ahead (as Morgan would say)

Piers Morgan has left good morning Britain.

@iwasntlying

Thank God .

I was called an attention seeking liar at 17 when I started self harming . My GP laughed, told me I was a nutter and if I was genuinely suicidal I’d work harder at it . That was only twelve years ago .

It was years before I could ever talk about my mental health again and even now I don’t fully trust doctors and nurses, I’m scared they’re laughing too .

I’m utterly relieved that Piers will no longer able to spout his drivel on daytime TV and do any more damage to the way we treat mental health .

This is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry you were treated that way. I got a bit teary reading that.

I am also very happy Piers has gone. He was awful about Meghan, so over the top hateful. He shouldn't have been allowed to get away with it for as long.

I am sure Meghan is thrilled. This alone must make that interview worth it.

StoneofDestiny · 09/03/2021 19:34

Susanna regularly challenges him

No - she makes a few 'gentle interjections', nothing to equal his onslaughts on guests. No way are they co presenting this show - it's like the Piers Morgan Show!

True.

But she did challenge him on the white supremacist comment

DrSbaitso · 09/03/2021 19:39

I might start watching it now.

Zofloramummy · 09/03/2021 19:41

He is a classic entitled misogynistic white wealthy bully. He has had a hate campaign running against Meghan for years. If she had become his friend instead of realising he is a nut job then the rhetoric spouted from his very loud mouth would have been entirely different. In a word he is toxic.

RootyT00t · 09/03/2021 19:45

Mind him on BGT.

Told a woman just to do the magic and stop singing. She said no it's the act. Simon put her through.

She came back and sang and piers called her arrogant. Amanda went nuts.

gingganggooleywotsit · 09/03/2021 19:47

Thank goodness. He’s had his time. Pale, stale and male. Clear off and don’t come back

iwasntlying · 09/03/2021 19:48

@user1471543094 - thank you Flowers

It’s brought some of it back, I remember how much courage it took to say something to the GP and for her to laugh . I was crushed .

I did manage to tell a very, very wonderful doctor some years on and received support - my lasting memory of that appointment is how angry she was that I’d been spoken to that way - she admitted it isn’t massively unusual among GPs even now sadly .

Stuff like, if you were suicidal, you’d have done it by now, or ‘you aren’t really self harming...’, it’s horrendous .

user1471543094 · 09/03/2021 19:51

I saw something on twitter along the lines of:
Meghan Markle might not see your posts about having suicidal thoughts, but your friend with suicidal thoughts will.

He did alot of damage today by claiming not to believe her.

My friend was told she couldn't be depressed because she looked well and had washed her hair.

She attempted suicide a week later.

Glad to hear you're doing OK x

He’s been pretty toxic about a lot of things hasn’t he? I always assumed he was deliberately controversial for the publicity.
Yes he was cast as the panties villain.

Probably a role he cast himself in and his controversy was amusing at times and opened good debate.

I always loved his killers in prison interviews.

But he's unravelled recently to the point I've questioned how well he is .

I thought his tattoo rant last week was a good indicator of him going too far and stepping over the line (which for him is often in the distance as it is!).

All his polls about how well he's doing compared to others and his need for an ego boost has been telling.

I watched his reaction to Trump and back then said it amazes me because he wasn't able to see his behaviour was starting to mirror that of Trumps.

Best he goes. He needs time out of the limelight and we need to hear others speak about issues and not just what Piers will allow people to say.

Oops I mean See you posts about not believing her about suicidal thoughts. Hopefully yous can make sense of that
MissMogwai · 09/03/2021 19:53

Good riddance. I no longer watch it as his rants are embarrassing and borderline obsessive.

I saw the clip of him storming off today, he can give it out but he can't take it. What a clown.

itsgettingwierd · 09/03/2021 19:56

Have to say I was impressed with Alex this morning but my absolute favourite bit was Dr H not allowing him to talk over him and telling a piers wealth and being part of the RF doesn't mean you can't and won't have MH issues.

In the last 2 days he's been successfully challenged by numerous guests and co hosts.

He didn't walk away from his pedestal he put himself on. He was knocked off it and skunk away because it hurt his pride.

MAMNIL · 09/03/2021 20:00

Classic boomer snowflake. As my auld scotch granny used to say, "if ye cannae take it, dinnae gie it oot".

VladmirsPoutine · 09/03/2021 20:01

He's going to build a much bigger profile now bemoaning how he's been cancelled and the insurgency of the 'wokes'. He'll appear on gb news, talk radio etc. He'll gain a lot more from this than he'll lose.

Carolina24 · 09/03/2021 20:09

Anyone concerned that they’ll miss him can recreate the effect of his tenure as a host of GMB by placing a gammon joint on a sunny windowsill and watching it decompose for a couple of weeks while someone nearby reads daily mail headlines out loud in a stroppy voice.

isitfridayyet1 · 09/03/2021 20:09

@MAMNIL this is soo funny! Love the phonetic spelling too!

ghostyslovesheets · 09/03/2021 20:10

@MrsTulipTattsyrup

I’m sure it was all staged to get some publicity. I fully expect him to announce tomorrow that he’s joining Andrew Neil’s vile parade of right-wing twats on his new news channel.
yeah this!
Liquorishtoffee · 09/03/2021 20:10

Looks staged (like Top Gear) - out with a bang and all that. I wonder if he has something lined up already?

That is literally true. Perhaps the only thing to add would be a garnish of dog turds for extra ambience.
JayAlfredPrufrock · 09/03/2021 20:12

I don’t watch tv before 5pm. But yesterday there was a broadband outage in my area and the newspaper hadn’t arrived when I got up. So I switched on the tv to see what was happening in the world. I caught 5 minutes of Piers shouting and switched off.

People actually watch this?

It doesn’t matter. The point is ITV have done the right thing and that sends a message.
