Completely do-able to live in a TFF with 2 kids?

AIBU to think it's perfectly acceptable/do-able?

It's a 3 bed, and even though it's a TFF it has its own private garden. DH doesn't think it's suitable for us with 2 DDs (7 & 2), but then he has unobtainable aspirations of a 3 bed semi with garage and garden.

We are in the SE so budget wise we are limited to what we can afford, and its currently 30k under what we have got AIP wise from the bank.

@rossclare how realistic is that when you have a 2 and 7 year old? There’s always something else to pay out for with the kids and I’d not want a ‘project’ with a toddler around.

It depends on the individual i suppose.

We've done about 4 houses up now, with 3 young children in tow and lived without toilets, kitchens and in absolute filth.

Do i like it? Not particularly, but we now have a house worth 900k with a 250k mortgage plus a holiday home.

So it really pisses me off when people say we are lucky. We so aren't - we are grafters who have put up with a lot of shit that a lot of people wouldn't.

If you are someone that can't stand disorder, then doing a project with 2 kids would be stressful. But if you are someone who can keep your eye on the prize, then it's rewarding and bonding.
