ITV couldn’t give a shit about complaints and people going on social media complaining about piers. It leads to ratings and headlines. The only way they would ever do anything is if Piers starts to cost them commercial income - ie people stop watching therefore affecting viewing figures or advertisers start pulling their ads.

And the way Susannah Reid is complicit in it sitting there with her faux-outrage at Piers - playing the ‘good cop’ is really disappointing. She has totally sold out.

ITV will have loved it. Probably gained a load of viewers off the back of it. I agree that SR is becoming an act as well.

Piers is only peeved off as he was friends with Megan and she now is no longer in contact with him.

They weren’t even friends and this myth needs to die. Not aiming this at you @MummieNiamh, just clarifying.

It wasn’t a date. They were not friends. It was a set up meeting by her managers to meet with a journalist like all celebrities are told to do. That’s it.

After finding out who he was and being warned off by several people, including Harry, she never responded to him again.

That is what Piers Morgan is upset about. He’s pissed off because his reputation finally caught up to him as a horrible human being. Of one who worms his way into celebrities’ lives in order to destroy them and it didn’t work or go to plan this one time.

People saw him for who he was and were able to prevent an unsuspecting American of from falling into his clutches. So he decided to do it anyway with no basis for attack. That’s why he gets angry about being called out his obsession. He’s pissed off that his reputation preceded him and that it finally punished him rightly for his past offenses. He’s being left out of the inner circle of “knowledge” and it kills him.

I am not sure how PM thought his friendship with Meghan would have progressed had she not met PH. He was married to CW.
She wasn't a well known sleb over here in 2016 so not sure what he would have destroyed. I don't really understand it.

Part of me wonders whether his bullying would stop if Megan and Harry granted him an interview but then the other part of me thinks that placating bullies for a quiet life never works. You just end up walking on eggshells forever.

But when he first met MM she wasn't with PH, that's the bit I don't get. I don't know what he would have gained from befriending an American actress that not many people in the UK had heard of. They didn't have contact after she met PH.
