Well, at least our royals are behaving like proper royal families again, sulking and feuding. Plotting and undermining one another. Resenting both parents, children and siblings together with assorted relatives by marriage. Much more like it rather than the suburban family image- ooh they're just like us - that's been foisted on us since Mrs Simpson nicked our king and scared the horses. Bring on the pikes and lances.

I think the severity of the accusations are unprecedented for a senior royal (I maybe wrong but I can't think of any), so it's plausible that the press are also nervous about covering it. I hadn't thought about that. That's a good point.

I've perhaps been too suspicious of how close some media people are to those with money/influence to see the more reasonable consideration, that if they report or speculate then any action involving him could collapse.

I think there is something to be said for your suspicions too. To the point that we'll probably never find out the whole truth.

As far as I’m aware Ms Ono was not a habitual perpetrator of domestic violence, John Lennon was. He discussed it extensively and openly after seeking counselling and when he was reflecting upon the dysfunction and abandonment issues in his own childhood. Ms Ono didn’t make John Lennon troubled, he was already troubled when he met her
